Everytime I visit Springs this place is on my list. Their food is so good!! Even my non-gf family and friends end up tasting my plate because it’s delicious. And the gf menu is expansive.
They get super busy on the weekends so make a reservation or plan on a wait for your takeout.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t use the fryer so our options were the stir fry entrees. I was disappointed briefly because I’m such a creature of habit and I couldn’t get GF General Tso’s Chicken. HOWEVER, I got the GF Kung Pao Chicken (which I have never tried before) it was SO delicious! My husband ordered a GF Beef with Broccoli just so I could try it. Our food was exceptional and the staff was very kind, understanding and knowledgeable. We will be back to try the Generals Chicken!
We just tried Wok In Wok Out last night. I did not have a reaction.
My first Chinese food in a decade. I forgot how greasy and carb focused some Chinese dishes can be. It was yummy. They will definitely be in our rotation. Next time we’ll try at least one dish with veggies!
They did mention there is risk. Well there’s always risk. But they also said that the wok is washed before cooking gluten free dishes.
Edit: Wok In Wok Out has become one of our favorite places for take out. When my wife and kids have plans with their friends or a kid birthday party. This is one of my first thoughts for my dinner.
Despite the risk, I’ve never had a reaction.
The lemon chicken is fantastic. Very lemony. We had my sister-in-law over. The first thing she said is how disappointed she has always been with lemon chicken everywhere. “Never enough lemon.” Well, she loved it. It was the first and only lemon chicken she liked. She loves lemon so she’ll be going.
The broccoli beef or shrimp is really good too. My wife is a connoisseur of pad see ew. Wok In Wok Out meets her demands. Our youngest loves their ‘noodles’ too.
We recently tried Thai basil tofu. The whole fam loved it. New member of the rotation.
They were very accommodating and made some of the best gf Chinese food I’ve had since being diagnosed with Celiac. I wish there were more Chinese places like this!
As far is I could tell they have a separate prep area and either a dedicated wok or one they clean very well, I wasn’t 100% sure. Either way I did not get any kind of reaction.
This was my first time having Chinese food since finding out I have celiac. We decided to try this place because of the good reviews, and it definitely lived up to them! They offered a gluten free menu right as we sat down without having to ask. They mark everything clearly. I got the GF sesame chicken and it tasted great. My husband (who is not GF) got the regular orange chicken and he really enjoyed it too. This will definitely be our go-to Chinese spot!
We were visiting Colorado Springs to sell our woodworking items at the Christmas craft show. I am always leery about eating at new places. I definitely can’t afford to get sick when I need to be selling our product!
We ended up orders from this place twice! We had leftovers the first time for one night and I wanted leftovers to take with us to our next destination.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I had ordered Drunken Noodles with chicken and they made sure to let me know that wasn’t gluten free. Prices are amazing for the amount of food you get. Definitely makes me wish I lived here.
I had some of the sesame chicken (mild - they will spice it to your desired level) and lemon chicken. Both were excellent so we ate there twice this week. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about celiac/GF. One time GF soy sauce was available for a $1 up charge, the next time the waitress said they did not have GF soy sauce. Luckily, we travel with packets.
They have a good-sized separate gluten-free menu. Food is delicious. They even know not to give you fortune cookies or crab rangoons when gf. Friendly service. .
The menu only showed one item as being gluten free: the Mongolian Beef. The waiter said that other people order chicken and broccoli as a gluten free meal. He suggested that other items could be made gluten free, but he did not give any examples. I had the Mongolian Beef, it was delicious, and I suffered no ill effects.
I didn’t know it’s takeout only due to COVID. However, my order was ready quickly and she brought it out to the car. I ordered sweet and sour chicken. The flavor was good, but would have been better if the sauce was warmer and mixed with the chicken.
The people who run this place are so amazing, accommodating and careful with wheat allergies, celiac and the like. Be sure to tell them you have a gluten allergy, and they make your food in a dedicated gluten-free fryer. Ask all the question you need. They are very patient and kind.
Just FYI to those with Celiac about Wok In Wok Out...
They just told me their fried gluten free items are not safe (even though last time I was told they were)
Their white rice is not safe, because they use the same spoon to scoop out fried rice and white rice.
Their egg drop soup is also not apparently safe, but that's because she said she wants to make everything fresh for me, and cant make that fresh.
My boyfriend took time to sit with her and discuss/explain some things, so hopefully she will take that into account, and possibly make some changes!
Last time I came, it was the same lady, and since then, she must have gotten better informed about things. Just wanted to warn others.
This was a nice find! they have a whole GF menu available online. I tried the fried rice, Pad Thai and veggies in white sauce over white rice. My personal opinion was I LOVED the Veggies and White sauce and i will be getting it often. The restaurant staff was very helpful and friendly. Also I have Celiac and didn’t get sick I actually felt great after eating all that :)
Ordering was pretty painful. Took a while to get the question of a dedicated fryer understood but he checked and said it was a dedicated fryer. Ordered the gf sesame chicken omg its good. I highly recommend this gem. Im celiac so we will see if i get effected.
