While traveling to Galveston from out of town, this place was at about the 1/2 way mark along the road. I called ahead of time and was assured they had GF options and was an eat-in restaurant. When we arrived, not only did we discover this was an order counter AT A GAS STATION, but that all the meats were in metal vats like dressings at a salad bar, work staff were completely clueless about what GF even meant, and none of their sauces were GF. Needless to say, there was no way we were going to take any chances, so we left. My advice—keep driving. ;)

I read the reviews about the BBQ being GF so I took the risk and ate the chopped BBQ baked potato. It was very delicious. I didn’t try the BBQ sauce so I don’t know if it is GF. Customer service could be better but over all this is a great place to get a safe meal in the middle of nowhere.

Woody’s Smokehouse in Centerville has great BBQ!! I love stopping at Woody’s for lunch/dinner (plus clean bathrooms). I order brisket and BBQ beans. There is no gluten free bread or dessert though. The BBQ is delicious and gluten-free.

Our daughter has celiac & we stopped here for lunch while traveling. All of their barbecue meat is gluten free so she grabbed a bag of chips (gluten free, of course) to go along with her meat & it was great! They offer beans that are gluten free also but she didn’t want them. Great place to stop when traveling right off the freeway.
