Terrible experience. This beautiful hotel with high priced buffet and dinner menu gave me such high hopes that I would be accommodated for as a Coeliac who is very very sensitive to Gluten. I told the server when we arrived that I am Coeliac she said she would call the chef. I have to wait for about 20 minutes for the chef to appear, he seemed irritated at having to take me around the buffet. He was extremely unfriendly and very flippant. He rushed me through the whole process and pointed to a few things that did not look gluten free to me and he told me they were. He seemed completely unknowledgeable and unsympathetic to my medical condition. I asked him, wouldn't it be easier to just label everything and he said " No, because we like the labels to be small and look nice and we would have to add vegetarian to them", 😳My thought then was are you serious???? The labels have to look nice???? And by the way, vegetarianism is a lifestyle choice not a medical condition that makes you very ill???? I decided to put my shock aside and take a few of the options he had pointed out, oh dear, I should have went with my instinct, I was glutenend and suffered for the rest of the day in horrendous pain and many bathroom trips. This ruined the trip as it was my husbands birthday and our wedding anniversary but I was too ill to enjoy the day. The next day I felt drained and wiped out . I am astounded by such a large hotel that seems to pride itself on providing a great experience for customers are completely devoid of knowledge on this matter and the staff don't care anyway. They are missing a very important step in their catering process here and I would NEVER eat in the Buffett again. I guess Steve Wynn doesn't have any Coeliacs in his family and is either completely ignorant of this medical condition or Like his general staff, doesn't care. The worst thing about being Coeliac is that you generally feel like an inconvenience at a restaurant but some restaurant staff will be sympathetic and accommodating so you don't feel that way, however, the Wynn catering staff definitely made me feel like I was an irritating inconvenience, especially the chef who couldn't care less.
