Despite the reviews I wanted to try their pizza. I called them and they reassured me they keep things separate and I shouldn’t have any cross contamination. When we got the pizza I tested it with my Nima (twice!) and it said contains gluten. So bummed!! My husband ate it and I ate some snacks from home. 😩
Not for celiacs!! The place looks nice, the staff was friendly, they have some extraordinary pizza creations on their menu and a gf crust. Unfortunately they bake them right on the same tiles in their stone oven where the regular pizzas go. I asked last minute about cross contamination since they had tons of pizza pans there and figured they would use those. As nice as the lady was: If you offer gf you should know for celiacs it is essential to be 100 % gf. And throwing in the flour-sprinkled doughs with the gf crust is crazy. Why offer gf when you obviously don't know the first thing about it?? to cash in on the trend of course. When we left they said: Maybe next time! Yes, I wish my autoimmune disease is just going to dissapear and I will magically be able to eat there without getting hurt. That said, looks like a nice little place for everybody else.
Looked up on Google and it said permanently closed
We ate here twice during a four day stay up in Julian. Great service, super clean and they can make ANY of their pizzas gluten free. Overall a great little gem.
