This restaurant has provided delicious meals on several occasions. There are daily options that are GF and meals from their standard menu. The people are as accommodating as they can be to requests. We will continue to dine here happily and often.

All of their fried foods are done with GF flour and the work area seems to be separate. They are very knowledgeable and detailed in their preparation.

Writing this whilst biting into this juicy amazing BBQ burger! I won’t say what the taste reminds me of by name but Everybody Goes to it!

Celiac and allergy friendly! Great food with so much flavor you'll question that it's legit. Lot's of options and not the standard boring GF options.

Great, safe food. The staff knows how to make everything GF separately and the people working the register are well-informed (it’s usually one of the owners taking your order). They can make almost anything on the menu GF and will input gluten allergy into the register so that the back of the house is notified to be extra cautious. Everything they fry is gluten free.

The staff is very knowledgeable about gluten free and cross contamination. They have gluten free fried chicken and waffles, French toast and pancakes. Their sweet tea is so yummy. I suggest if you want syrup that you ask for their homemade syrup, because it adds a wow factor to your meal. Then treat yourself to a deep fried gluten free Oreo. I felt super safe eating here and I’m extremely sensitive. My meal was amazing and I will be back!

This is some of the best fried chicken I have had anywhere, anytime. Not just gluten-free friend chicken -- any fried chicken. Had the chicken and waffles. Nice generous serving. Chicken shatteringly crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. Waffles were fluffy and had a nuanced, delicate flavor. The cinnamon butter was good but I preferred the syrup. You gotta eat this. It will nourish your soul. All the fried chicken is GF. You can get waffles with gluten or without.

The best gluten free food I’ve had. They are dedicated to making gluten free food tastes amazing. You feel welcome with smiles and they make sure you are taken care of with a complete understanding of celiac disease. Fried Oreos, fried fish, chicken and waffles and cheese burgers! Lots more but that’s the list I ate today haha truly amazing people with an even more amazing heart for others

WOW! Great food and so many gluten free options INCLUDING fried chicken!! Can I get an Amen?! Definitely going back in the future! Had their French toast and that was probably the best GF French toast I’ve ever had! As someone who has celiacs, I would definitely recommend to anyone who has an allergy. They take it seriously!

This is the best place I have ever been. My father was diagnosed with celiac in November of 2018 and he said he has never felt as full after eating a meal. He got the gluten free shrimp and grits and he said he feels like a fat man after eating it because it was soooooo good. I myself got the gluten free chicken and waffles but was weary when the chicken came out fried, after confirming that the chicken was gluten free I dug in and was not disappointed to say the least. That fried chicken was the crunchiest, greasiest, and best fried chicken I have had in my whole life gluten free or otherwise. Could not recommend more!!

YOU GUYS. Stop what you’re doing, drive 100 miles if you have to and visit Yo Mamas. 3/4 of our family is wheat allergic and we had the best breakfast of our lives, ha. Just to clarify, the place is not 100% GF but they are very careful and knowledgeable.

This place is AMAZING! My 8 year old has been GF for 2 years now. The only fried chicken/chicken strips he has loved. The waffles were amazing. They treated him like royalty with some cheese grits, some fries, some extra chicken. We are 2+ hours away, but we will be coming back for sure. Amazing staff, amazing GF food (you wouldn’t know it’s GF if you just had it). Definitely earned everyone of the five stars

Absolutely delicious and scrumptious southern food. GF chicken and waffles that taste amazing, not just amazing for GF. Fried catfish. This made my day every time I needed a break from the conference food. Told them they needed to franchise out in my hometown.

Not very disabled friendly. I have severe back problems. I sat down while my family was in line. A server working there told me I could not sit that I had to wait in line, did not give me a chance to explain. She was very rude. I went outside to sit. When family got to the counter they were out of a lot of menu items. When ask what they had gluten free they said they don't guarantee anything gluten free.

Really disappointed that we didn't get to eat here. Searched for this place online before we left Florida and was a planned stop for lunch on our way to Huntsville. After reading all the reviews was looking forward to the visit and drove out of our way to get here. It was posted online that it was open. When we got there it was CLOSED! It wasn't even posted on the door when the plan was to open. After looking again online it was updated on Yelp as being closed until Jan 2nd. Boo...

Great tasting food that makes you think, “Is this really gluten free?! It’s too good!”🤔😲 But with confidence from the workers, all fryers are gf, and the waffles have their own station, I ate happily and had no reaction. Def a must visit when in Bham

If you’re not eating at Yo Mama’s right now, YOU’RE A FOOL!! Being Celiac it’s near impossible to find GF chicken and waffles anywhere. Amazing comfort food, great atmosphere and a warm welcome makes you feel right at home from the time you walk in the door until you make a happy plate and walk out utterly satisfied. Will definitely come back every time I’m in Birmingham. Would have taken a picture of my food, but I ate it too fast.

These reviews are no joke; this place is amazing! Never expected to have the best chicken and waffles of my life AFTER going GF! Been waiting to taste food like this again for over 6 years -- made me tear up a bit honestly. The service was also unbelievable; every single person was kind, patient, and helpful.

Being able to take my kids somewhere they can choose anything on the menu, having it be delicious and served by awesome people -- priceless in my book.

Oh. My. Gosh. This was the first time I had ever had fried chicken since I was diagnosed with a severe case of Celiac in 2nd grade! Everything they fry is gluten free, because they realized they weren't actually Celiac friendly without doing it that way. I had the chicken and waffles and it was phenomenal! No reaction, other than sadness that I wouldn't be back anytime soon!

Gluten free french toast with house syrup was amazing. Can't remeber the last time I had fried chicken and theirs was fabulous! Also tried the shrimp and grits with smoked sauage which I would also be raving about if it hadn't been for the French toast. Never been to Birmingham before but definitely ready to come back anytime just for the french toast.

It is SO EXCITING to find a restaurant like this where you honestly can't even tell that the food is gluten free! The food was absolutely amazing! Recently, on the way home to New Orleans, stopped in a nice "GF oasis" in downtown Birmingham. Small, busy eatery specializing in GF chicken wings, waffles, shrimp / grits. Owner has a close friend with Celiac, and wanted to start a business that would help the GF community. They use GF bean flour to dredge the wings. A "must" stop if you're traveling through.
