We have been here a handful of times. The chef has made us homemade ketchup before due to other food allergies, but the wait staff is hot or miss. Get a waiter/ess that cares and you have a good chance. We have had serious cross contamination issues. Also avoid is you have a soy allergy as they use it in their fryers.... We found out the hard way even after talking to the manager about our soy allergy
Dedicated fryer, but still tell your server that you have celiac/gluten allergy. I wasn't very hungry so I had the Zinburger with lettuce wrap. It was excellent and so were the truffle fries. GF menu items are clearly labelled. I have celiac and did not get sick. Looking forward to returning to this location.
My daughter and I both have Celiac, trying something new is always exciting and concerning for us. We have been here twice and have had no rracrions at all. The waitstaff was more knowledgeable than the management, which turned out to be a very good thing! We were well taken care if and the staff was patient when I grilled them (no pun intended) repeatedly about the items being GF. The rolls were soft, the burgers outstanding and the fries were unique and delicious. They have specials on Sunday and offer outdoor seating. It's a fairly long drive for us but certainly worth the trip!
THANK YOU Zinburger (Cherry Hill)!! I have CD (2.5 yrs. diagnosed). Zinburger was fantastic; knowledgeable staff, dedicated area/kitchen protocols and dedicated fryers. I had the GF Cheeseburger and fries. Best GF bun I have had to date. Everything was delicious! A great place to go for me, because my husbands and daughter (non-CD) had delicious meals too. I also LOVED the fact that I could get a great glass of wine!! My husband and I agreed - a perfect place for a date night!! 😀 We will definitely be back!
GF burger buns are fantastic and truffle fries killer. Waiters knowledgeable. Their gourmet burgers better than Smash, 5 Guys, or similar. Try breakfast burger with fried egg. $5 burgers during happy hour and Sundays which are same size as normal. Great selection of quality wine pours.
I have a gluten allergy and highly recommend zinburger! They staff was very aware of gluten allergies! Their gluten free buns are amazing! All food is cooked on a dedicated gluten free cook top and fryer to ensure no cross contamination! We will be eating here more often
Not sure about other locations but this one cooks it’s fries in a separate fryer from gluten-based menu items! At lunch today, I ordered a GF burger with GF bun. When it arrived, the bun looked similar to my friends non GF bun. When I asked about it, waiter confirmed it was not GF as intended and they assured me they would make a whole new one with GF bun. They handled the correction fantastically and the burger and fries were delicious when the new one arrived. They even ended up comping the burger which went above and beyond. I will definitely be back.
The staff was amazing! When I mentioned that we had two in our party who had celiac disease, the hostess immediately showed me a menu with items that can be made gluten-free notes, explained that they have a dedicated fryer for gluten free items, and said to inform the waiter so that they can be aware to prevent cross contamination. Food and milkshakes were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!
Had a seemingly yummy meal but got sick on the car ride home about an hour after eating. I got a regular burger with French fries with gf bun and waiter seemed to be knowledgeable about safety in the kitchen. Wouldn’t dine here if you are very sensitive even tho they large amount of gf options
Sadly disappointed. You cannot post things on your menu as gluten free when they are fried in the same oil with non gluten free items. That makes them unsafe for people with gluten allergies..
Absolutely amazing, they take gf super seriously. They do new glove preparation, have a separate deep fryer, and will even clean the milkshake machine if you ask!! I wouldn’t get a gf bun here, the burgers are frankly too big on their own to warrant eating a whole bun with. They’ll lettuce wrap too!! Just ask, the staff is very kind.
This place is a disaster. No gf buns as advertised on this app, waitress argued there was no way to make gf fries despite what the menu said, waited over an hour for food and opted to leave once we discovered several parties seated ahead of us were still waiting for their food.
It's a busy place and the menu is marked for a lot of GF options. The menu has a disclaimer that they can't guarentee GF, as it's a shared kitchen, but my Nima sensor gave the happy face for the 'No buns' Turkey burger, as well as the double truffle fries. The manager did say they have a dedicated fryer, as well as color coded utensils/prep. As long as I'm not sick tomorrow, I think it's a go.
Food was good and staff new about Celiacs but I still got sick. In the restaurants defense, the manager did explain that while their fryer is gluten free, the line cooks are “messy” and tend to cross contaminate from time to time. I shouldn’t have taken the risk. Paid for it 45 mins later for sure.
The staff is very knowledgeable, to the point of knowing the sweet potato fries are processed in a facility that contains wheat. They have separate fryers for the fries and toast their GF burger buns separately as well. Almost the entire menu can be made GF!
Gluten free buns would be better if heated and I will ask for them to be heated next visit. Other than that, this place is fantastic! I had the zinburger, it was amazing! I did not try the fries although they are fried in a dedicated frier. Great place for a burger and cider.
Food was great & lots of GF options! I had the Sam Burger with avocado & split the fries with my bf. They have a dedicated fryer for the fries so I felt safe eating them! The burger & fries were both delicious!
They are great with being safe with the burgers but I’m not sure why others have said they use a dedicated fryer. They DO NOT use a dedicated fryer for their french fries. I have had a waiter tell me that they did, and then I got sick. And then the next time I called and asked before arriving and they confirmed that they do not use a dedicated fryer and they weren’t sure why that information was falsely passed to me. If you are celiac, you can still eat the burgers safely but do not eat the fries.
The food wasn’t very good - mediocre quality and the burger meat lacked flavor. Fries (and all sides for that matter) were extra. A prior reviewer raved about the GF buns which are simply Udi’s buns. If not for the server’s excellent knowledge about ingredients and the chef visiting our table personally, I would have given a lower rating.
Great food, they were able to accomodate my gf and dairy free child.
I can only give them a 4 star rating. We found gluten using my Nima sensor in the loaded fries which were marked gf. Don’t know which part (fries, cheese, or bacon). Burger and bun were ok. Maybe stick to the plain fries? We didn’t want to take a chance so we didn’t eat any of the fries.
They have quite a few burgers that can be done with a gf bun, as well as a dedicated fryer. I had the loaded fries, Zinburger, and crime brûlée milkshake. Amazing! The chef also came out to our table a few times to make sure our experience was good there. Will be stopping there on the regular!
Edit, June 2018 - Food and service some of the best I’ve ever encountered, and the whole check was under $35, including dessert and sides!! Is this Heaven? Oh my gosh Delicious...service top-notch. I left so so full
We loved coming here until they messed up our order and served my daughter a regular bun instead of gf (which she ordered and which was clearly marked down by the waiter). She didn’t realize it until she took a bite. The manager didn’t seem to realize the seriousness of this and didn’t even offer to comp the meal—and my daughter spent the next two hours throwing up. It was awful for her and we will not go back.
Excellent food, but I'm pretty sure that the bun that they gave me was not gluten free, even though I had asked for a gf bun. On the menu it says that they do not have a separate preparation area and cannot guarantee against cross contamination.
Wait staff is hit or miss. Not only was the service really bad, but my daughters gf order was done incorrectly and needed to be remade. Manager should have comped us something and didn’t. We waited an unacceptable amount of time to be served. My napkins was souled and our drinks and water didn’t come until we asked again. We will not be going back any time soon.
Great staff, food and drinks for those with gluten or celiacs. They have an app for coupons. Dedicated fryer for the French fries.
Knowledgeable staff gluten free food I had the ahi tuna 🍔 and the 🍟. Would have preferred the tuna as a 🥗 the bun was a bit dry. Other than that I didn’t get a stomach ache thank G-d!
The staff were very nice and knew about their menu and options. The menu is mostly gluten free or gluten free adaptable. Fries, burgers and shakes were all out of this world!!! 10/10 would recommend for all my celiac and gluten free friends
The staff at this place are knowledgeable and conscientious. The menu isn't that varied (though they do have a lot of different kinds of burgers), but if you're dying for a burger and fries, this is the place. They have a dedicated fryer and are celiac safe. Been going for years. They have gluten free buns, but sometimes I go for a wedge or ask for it just with lettuce instead. *Sometimes they over salt-and-pepper the burgers, so I usually ask for "no spice" to avoid that problem. It seems to depend on who's working in the kitchen, but better safe than sorry.
