I have a dairy allergy on top of my gluten allergy so Italian can be tricky but this place had a few options for me because that had a very extensive vegan menu. I had the bolognese and the noodles had a good chew to them. Not like rice pasta noodles that disintegrate. It was a tiny big greasy for me but still tasty. Would recommend.
Ate at Zizzi’s on a busy Monday evening. When we were given the menu, the waiter asked if anyone has allergies. I got the advice to check the website for the possibilities. With the help of the allergens list, I was able to order, which is never easy for me with more than one allergy unfortunately. For starter I had the veggie “meatballs” in a tomato sauce. As a main I ate GF pasta with shrimps and a chili/tomato sauce. Dinner was tasty and my plates were marked with stickers to indicate they contained GF food, which gave me the idea that the kitchen is very well organized. I felt really safe eating at Zizzi’s and had no issues afterwards. Surely safe to go and eat there.
Absolutely disappointing.
Pizza far away from any type of crust, way too few cheese for a margherita. Made with no interest of creating delicious food.
The dough was a frozen one from probably a supermarket around the corner.
Anybody could get better pizza at home (even with a frozen store-bought one).
Really helpful and attentive staff who take allergies seriously. We didn’t eat starters but there were definitely gluten free options included pasta crisps, calamari, etc. Gluten free pizza bases are great and they have a good choice of toppings both meat and vegetarian. They also do a handful of gluten free pastas. Desserts are stunning with a selection of cheesecakes, brownies and even a chocolate melt. I didn’t react and felt allergens were handled with care.
Had gluten free pasta staff friendly and helpful. They have option of gluten free pasta and pizza and there is an allergen menu.
Dined here on a fairly busy evening. Any allergies was checked before we were seated, after saying I was coeliac I was given a comprehensive chart detailing the allergens on the menu items. The chart was easy to read, although noted that possible cross contaminations are listed further over on the table so worth checking this section too.
The waitress also checked what my allergy was before taking our food orders.
Gluten free pasta is available and the allergen menu notes that this comes in its own packet and is cooked separately, to order.
I had the chorizo carbonara and it was lovely. The service was good, and attentive despite how busy the restaurant was.
