Waco, TX - NOT SAFE for those who MUST avoid gluten. My daughter ordered the protein power plate (a gluten free entree and gf side). I discussed her gluten intolerance with the worker who took our order, he said something to the kitchen personnel. However, she is VERY sick. I think the workers who helped us today did the best they could, so there must be severe cross-contamination in the kitchen or ingredients with hidden sources of gluten. I can not find an ingredients list only nutritional information. If you CAN NOT consume gluten, DO NOT go to the Zoe's kitchen in Waco, TX. Very disappointing and scary as they have so many items boldly labeled gluten free.

They have messed up before by putting pita bread on my meal, so i had to drive all the way back (I got it to go on my short lunch break) to get a fresh meal. That meal was fine. The second time I ordered from here, everything LOOKED fine, but I got sick a few hours later. I would be wary.

One of the staff members was knowledgeable. I ordered the chargrilled chicken and had them tell the cooks to change out gloves. Did not get sick :)
My family decided that the GF restrictions were not enough for us, so we decided to give our liver a break and try a month of vegetarian. I was not expecting to like it. We are gluten free out of necessity, by the way. The restaurant was so very clean; the staff was friendly and accommodating.
The tomato bisque soup was so delicious that I had to have another cup. My husband's favorite was the potato salad and my daughter's the white beans. Definitely coming back!

Great gluten free menu, very tasty and very friendly staff. However, more than once they've messed up and given me pita bread on top of my salad.
Have eaten here several times in the last few months. Recently updated menu shows gluten free items, although staff is not terribly knowledgeable about items and cross contamination.
Restaurant was dirty the last time I was there, several unclean tables and restroom needed attention.

I used to really like eating at Zoe's but the last 3 or 4 times I've tried to eat there I have had problems. They are always very busy and it seems they struggle to fulfill their orders. Last time I went I ordered a cup of tomato basil soup (waited at least 15 minutes for it) and there were bread crumbs on the plate next to my soup. So basically they saw that it was supposed to be gf after they made it and took off the toast. When I questioned it they got an attitude and took it back to the kitchen very unhappily. Their restaurant is also very dirty, and it's hard to find a place to sit where there isn't food all over the floor and tables. I think they need new management desperately.
Not sure if things have changed but was told today that chicken is grilled on same surface as bread so wouldn’t be celiac safe
