Great lunch spot! They asked if it was an allergen or preference and there is a separate fryer for fries and chicken! Very delicious especially the sweet potato fries !!

Went for the first time last night. It’s a really nice counter service place with a diverse, mostly GF possible menu. We ordered two different kind of burgers with their homemade veggie patty and shared them and a side of fries. The fries were great, but a little light on the seasoning (which is a shame since we paid extra for it.) I wasn’t a huge fan of the veggie patties, which were kind of mushy and sweet and conflicted with the toppings on the burgers. Probably would be better with an impossible patty (or real meat.) Felt totally safe here, but since we don’t eat red meat, we probably won’t be back.

Had the Heritage burger with bacon, aioli, etc. Very rich umami taste with excellent bun! The fries were just ok. Not sure about safety but they asked if GF was choice or allergy

Everything here besides the buns are GF! They have ingredients on their website and show that all fries are fried in dedicated fryers. Also have really good GF chicken nuggets

There aren’t many places around here where we can get celiac-safe fries (sweet potato, regular, truffle, etc), chicken strips, burgers, and delicious Brussels sprouts, and Roam has now become a family favorite. Plus the market salad is creative and lovely and they have interesting chicken sandwiches. They do have gluten-containing buns but you can get a GF bun no prob. Highly recommend and I hope this place stays in business!!

Fantastic food! I had a grilled cheese sandwich and chicken tenders cuz these are foods I’ve been missing since my celiac diagnosis last year. Good food, well made, quality ingredients!

Amazing GF fried chicken!! It's not labeled GF but the hostess said they only make GF.
Best burgers, good GF buns that don’t fall apart, and dedicated GF fryers for fries. Love it!

I was told by an employee at the front that the chicken is gluten free and it is not listed gluten free. I would be careful because they offer a gluten free bun but unsure of the safety for those with allergies or celiac.

Great burgers and chicken tenders - gf bun is a bit dry but it hits the spot. The entire menu is gluten free with the exception of the burger bun, which can be subbed out for a GF bun. That means you can basically order anything on the menu.. We’ve eaten there a number of times and haven’t had any issues.

We had eaten here multiple times successfully, but kiddo is definitely having a gluten reaction. Her bun did not have sesame seeds, which we thought meant it was GF. Clearly that’s not the case. Will try to take photos in future to better identify what the GF bun should look like.

Ordered a classic burger on a Gf bun and fries takeout from Roam the other night. The manager said the fries are GF and they use rice flour on anything else that’s fried. Decent burger, really good fries. My celiac child did not have any problems. Friendly waitstaff and nice indoor/outdoor seating area.

They said they would put gluten allergy on the ticket, so I assume they did. All the food we got in our order was GF. Got SO sick afterwards. The sweet potato fries with their ranch was delicious. The burgers were disappointing, not very flavorful despite all the toppings.

The food is amazing! The service was even better. We had one overnight in San Francisco and were lost most of it lol. We got on the wrong trolley then off the bus early and as we speed walked we did our order online. It was scheduled for pickup 1 minute before they closed. They still have us amazing service and even added the GF fries we forgot to order. Leah is amazing!

Amazing burgers. Fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer. Wen I asked for a gluten free burger, the guy at the counter asked if it was preference or allergy, and when I replied I had celiac he told me all about the precautions they take.

The staff was knowledgeable and seemed confident about which items had gluten and which did not.
I had a gluten free burger and the bread was so… not good, very dry. It was like I was eating the burger in spite of the bun, praying to forget the bun tasted lame.
** Fries were gluten free and good.
I WOULD go back and give their gluten free fried chicken a chance when I’m in the mood.

Traveling with food allergies or restrictions. It is SO annoying not only for myself but the people I am with. Trying to find a place that both parties will enjoy while also not having a bad reaction is a gamble. I went to @roam_burgers this weekend in San Francisco, CA. PHENOMENAL! Every bite felt like I was eating LOVE in food format. As if I would only have one bite, it was made to perfection each time! the portions were great. I had a veggie burger with a gluten free bun and sweet potato fries (GF bun had egg so it wasn’t vegan)
The man that took my order even brought out the allergen book to make sure I would have ANY issues. It was comforting!
Hands down best veggie burger I’ve had. You can tell their stuff is an art when they cook!!
My friend that had a meat burger enjoyed hers just as much!

Such a thorough, well-labeled menu behind the register (you have to ask for it). Even the deep fried stuff is gf.

Yes
Staff seemed fairly knowledgeable about cross contamination and told me that I could eat anything on the menu (except the regular gluten filled buns). Unfortunately after eating here earlier this evening I was so sick and had to run back to our hotel and skip out on the rest of our night in the city. Most likely got glutened there somehow as it was the only food I ate that day aside from in my own GF kitchen earlier in the day. I really wanted to love this place, but we're definitely not going back!!! :(

Great burger options and yummy gluten-free bun. They are very knowledgeable about their menu and helpful. Excited to go back.
Yes
Staff is very knowledgeable of gluten and other allergy/dietary concerns and have separate handling procedures. Dedicated fryer makes their russet, sweet potato and zucchini/onion haystacks gluten free and delicious. Roam is also committed to using nutrient rich ingredients and seasonal produce. Their takeout containers including drink-ware are compostable. They hand-craft sodas, shakes and cocktails and have a friendly, fun environment.
Yes
Best. Burgers. Ever. So so delicious and they know the difference between celiac and not (they’ll ask you if no gluten is an allergy or a preference). I’m a very sensitive celiac and have been happily eating here for years. The ultimate treat.
Yes
This place was great! GF buns were the best I've had in 3 years. I did the basic cheeseburger and will definitely like to try some of the others. They have regular and sweet potato fries made in dedicated fryer!!!
Yes
Ordered fries for my celiac daughter. They assured me it was a dedicated fryer. They were delicious & tested negative for gluten on my Nima! She didn’t try anything else but at least she could have fries!
I have been to one of their SF locations and recently found out they’re in Oakland too. Great selection of burgers with different meat options. They have a veggie patty, but I haven’t tried it yet and some of the SF reviews say it has soy sauce. They also have a dedicated fryer and good GF buns. I’ve been here multiple times with no CC symptoms.
Yes
Glutened. But try the blood orange soda.

Holy cow! I love when you can find actual GF burgers (a burger AND bun) and GF fries. I had the Heritage Burger and sweet potato fries. So yummy. Most everything there is GF!
Yes
Had the beef burger with cheddar in a lettuce wrap and russet fries. Was told there is very little gluten used in the restaurant: the fryer is GF and the burgers are grilled separately from the buns. Server marked my order as gluten allergy as well. All my food tested as GF with my Nima sensor!
