Tropichop bowls (rice bowl) are gluten free. Eat this with grilled chicken very frequently & have never been glutened. Also this is very reasonably priced.

Had the Tropichops bowl with salad, black beans, onions l, and grilled chicken. It was delicious and I did not get sick.

I get the Tropichop from here but there aren’t that many items that contain wheat so I feel like if you’re gluten sensitive/intolerant like me, you’ll do fine. If you’re Celiac, I would be a lot more careful since it’s not a dedicated GF menu/facility.

The Pollo Tropical chain doesn’t seem to be very knowledgeable about gluten free, but many of their items are naturally GF.
I’ve eaten at various locations in south Florida and have never gotten sick. I looked at their allergen menu beforehand online which is helpful and always order the tropichop bowl with chicken, beans, corn, avocado, and guava BBQ sauce. Their flan is GF too! The yuca bites don’t technically have gluten either but I think it’s a shared fryer.
Eat at your own risk, but in an area that unfortunately doesn’t have many GF options, PTrop has been a reliable spot for me to grab a quick bite.

This place is great just look up online what you can get. I do the tropichop with grilled chicken and pork, guava bbq. I think the only sauce with gluten is the curry mustard. Plantains are gluten free too

People working there had very little knowledge of what gluten free meant. Other then that food was very good! I got grilled chicken with white rice. They also changed their gloves before dishing my food.

Really good meats and sides. Most of the menu is gluten free.
I always remind them
Not to include the bread roll which comes with all of the meals

I actually go to the store on University Drive and Broward Boulevard. The staff is very friendly. I get the sweet plantains and the chicken tropichop. They are always delicious.

We ate here multiple times during a recent visit to south Florida and it was great! My son is celiac and had no issues.

Ask them to change gloves and tell them you have allergy
Yes
Very friendly & accommodating.
I notified the cashier of my allergy before placing my order. She turned around & informed the kitchen staff that they needed to wash their hands & change their gloves before preparing my meal.
The food was excellent & the attention to detail was impeccable ❤👍
This is always a safe option for me. Most menu items are safe and there is an allergy list online. The sauces are really yummy with maybe one or two not being safe. It is quick and easy for busy nights and the family meal has a lot of food and is reasonably priced.
The employees had no knowledge of what gluten free is. The manager said he is celiac and said the only guaranteed gluten free item on the menu is the chicken. I ordered the chicken and double order of white rice, and they put a roll on the plate. Attempting to make it gluten free, they used the same tongs for the chicken as they did for the rolls. They were very friendly and tried to correct the situation, but didn't understand gluten free and cross contamination. The Sprite was great though! 😁

if you specify you're a Celiac, make sure they realize that the roll they decide to shove in your box contains wheat!
kind of pointless to order from the allergen menu when they toss a roll on top.
No
Ordered the TropiChop bowl with chicken, white rice, black beans and tomatoes, peppers, onions and corn. Also got a side of sweet plantains and the flan. Would come again.
Yes
Staff was not knowledgeable about gluten free and the menu did not identify the gluten free dishes. May be ok if you’re not very sensitive, but it was not worth the risk for me.

Delicious but they do NOT have a dedicated fryer ***

😀I love this place! Great variety with my favorites, plantains and fried yucca. The roasted chicken and ribs are awesome. Guava BBQ sauce is very tasty and enjoyable. The beef and wings have gluten 😪wish they'd change those two.
See their allergen menu link. It was hard to find, too many dead links.
Good is good. My favorite is the white rice, black beans, and grilled chicken.

After confirming with the manager what was safe and what wasn't, they still put a dinner roll in with my food. This locations kitchen is always very messy and I worry about cc. I won't eat here anymore.
No
They have an allergen list and appear to be knowledgeable and informed me that even though plantains and fried yucca appear to be gf on allergen list, they recycle the oil used for the fries and therefore are not safe.
Small tropichop rice, beans, and chicken is what I get
The staff isn't very knowledgeable. You need to look online to see the allergen list. I had the lite citrus chicken salad. It was very good. Be careful of the sauces, the pineapple rum isn't GF. That is just sad for me
I have celiac sprue disease and am quite sensitive. I've eaten here twice with no issues. Food is tasty. Ask for their "Nutritional Guide". With that you can piece together your own creation. I gave 4 stars because they didn't seem to have a dedicated area for preparing GF servings.
Yes
Everything was great! Lots of options: chicken breast, pork, whole chicken, beans, rice (not brown), plantains, yuca, etc. They have an allergen list at the register.
I was very disappointed in this restaurant . No one was familiar with GF and could not tell me if the marinade was GF. Didn't eat there. My husband got something to go and said it was good.

I never tell them I have Celiac, have never gotten a sick. I get the light TropiChop all the time. I'm not a fan of rice but since it helps my stomach resettle after contamination it's often necessary. What I love is that the light version is half rice, half lettuce. I miss the creamy cilantro sauce but nothing is tasty enough to make it worth being sick.
Always a good experience here (I'm celiac). Usually go for tropichop with chicken, black beans and all the veggies! The cilantro garlic sauce is good and gf. You can view the online menu for a list of gluten free items.

Workers have no clue about the safety regarding a Celiacs meal.
I had to ask the cashier not once, not twice but three times to put gluten allergy on the order as well as make sure there was no bun on the plate.
He just stared at me blankly and said "yeah, I know". Well if you knew you would have put it on the order when I asked three times.
I got the receipt and there was nothing on there regarding gluten-free and no bun.
When we got the meal there was mashed potatoes with gravy on it which is NOT gluten-free.
Don't waste your time on this place!

Don't have a gf menu per say but you can go off the allergen list. I let them now I have an allergy to gluten. The manager made the change their gloves and watched them closely. Have ate here twice with no problems.
My husband loves them! Caribbean grilled chicken is amazing!
Yes
Great food. Several items gluten free. Pork loin was confirmed gluten free by a manager. My wife (celiac) normally gets a quarter chicken with green beans or boiled yucca. Several sauces including the delicious cilantro garlic are gluten free. You always need to request "don't put a roll on my plate."

Most items here are GF! Check the allergen list. Personal favorite is the small pork Tropichop rice bowl with curry mustard sauce. Yum!

I was having a hard time figuring out what I could eat and mentioned being gluten free. The cashier pulled out a nutritional guide that included each menu item and had a column checking off allergens. Very easy!

Had no gluten free menu and was completely unknowledgeable about any gluten free items on the menu.
