Had a great experience here. They have a dedicated gluten free menu and a manager with Celiac, so she was very helpful and aware of cc. I ordered the GF shrimp and grits. Apps are difficult because they don't have a dedicated fryer.

I had a great experience! The waitress initially asked if there were any allergies she should be aware of. When I told her I had Celiac, she asked if I’d like a gluten free menu. The gluten free menu lists all items that do not have any gluten containing ingredients, and it differentiates those prepared safely (preceded by “GF - “) as compared to those that are prepared in a shared fryer (without the “GF -“). I always remind the waiter to tell the kitchen to change gloves, use fresh utensils, use clean pans, etc, and they did a great job. I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and it felt a little overpriced for what I got, but it was delicious!

Decently sized gluten free menu that you can look at online and in the restaurant. I had the fish tacos and the jalapeño corn grits for my side. The tacos were messy but really good. A bit on the salty side, but I’d get them again. The grits were buttery and not spicy at all. I also had the creme brûlée and loved it. I’d come back here for sure! I don’t know about their cross contamination risks but the waiter listened well and made me feel comfortable that he understood about my gluten sensitivity.

One of our local safe places to eat for my celiac kiddo. Grilled chicken tenders with honey mustard dipping sauce and fruit is normal order. For adults, tacos are good and grits are very tasty side instead of fries, which are not safe. I love their salads. Kids steak is pretty good and they always have salmon too.

Very good food, limited but decent options and separate gf sensitive menu. The waitress was able to explain their fryer is not dedicated, but on the menu, they differentiate between “gluten free” and truly celiac safe.

Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with a lettuce wrap and explained my allergy. Sandwich came out with a regular bun. I then again explained with great detail and emphasized the severity of my allergy. They reassured me it would be remade and apologized. I poured salt and pepper all over the top of the chicken breast to make sure it would be a new one before they took it without their knowledge. They brought me a new sandwich and said we made sure this was brand new and apologized again. Lifted up the lettuce and there was the mountain of salt and pepper. Clearly does not take gluten free or celiac seriously. Sent back my food and ate somewhere else for dinner.

Way over loud due to football game. Definitely rowdy sports bar. Very limited gf menu NO GF BREAD OR BUNS. Ordered fish tacos bc they were supposed to be safe, but they fried the fish in the fryer (supposed to be broiled) which their menu says is cross contaminated. Way too expensive not to eat two tiny tacos they served.

This was our first time here. They provided us with a regular menu and a gluten free menu. We had the J.T.’s Kettle chips for an appetizer. We had an order of fish tacos with blackened Chilean sea bass and an order of grilled chicken stack. We also split a Caesar salad. All was tasteful and plentiful. We will go back.

They have a dedicated GF Menu that has a pretty wide selection. My wife is gluten intolerant and has enjoyed the shrimp & grits and ciders they offer on multiple visits with no reactions/issues. Also has a kids GF menu. Just wish they had GF buns for their burgers.

Be careful. Spoke with manager to order my meal, and he said the broccoli is cooked in their pasta water. I had salmon cooked separately with butter, salt, pepper. And broccoli as a side which was boiled in a separate pot for me. It was very good meal, but sure glad I asked the mgr about GF meal options.

Avoid this place at all costs. My husband and I spent 55 minutes seated and had the worst experience. We asked 3 different people for a gluten free menu. We were brought a happy hour weekday menu. Not gluten free. After 25 minutes we were brought a gluten free menu. A half hour later what should have been Brie with gluten free chips, the waitress came out with pretzel bread and Brie and kept telling us it was gluten free. She also messed up our entree order and added options that weren’t gluten free to the order. We spoke with the manager who was very nice, but told him that we weren’t convinced that the meal would be safe for me to eat and we left.

Marlow’s Tavern has a dedicated gluten free menu. HOWEVER, a large majority of the items on said menu are NOT safe for celiac/ true gluten allergy. Everything that was fried on the menu is cross contaminated (chips, French fries, wings, etc.). In addition, the staff, including a chef who came out to discuss the gluten allergy, was not knowledgeable about what was and was not gluten free. They asked if extra virgin olive oil was ok and then served hummus with fried vegetables (cross/contaminated) on top. Most marlows’s Taverns are safe, but NOT this one.

I ordered The ahi tuna salad that was on the GF menu but told the waiter I was celiac. He came back later and said the chef said the tuna is put in the fryer and they do not have a dedicated fryer. So I asked for grilled chicken instead. All was fine thankfully since they had noted I was celiac. But be careful since this item was on the GF menu.

The gluten free menu has itens clearly marked, HOWEVER, in very tiny font, they indicate they have a shared frier. Avoid things not marked GF, even on the GF menu, to work around this. Otherwise, delicious food!

I was pretty unsure about being able to eat here safely, since it's a bar with bar food. I spoke with the wait staff, who brought the chef to answer any questions I had about cross contamination. (They change gloves, fully sanitize the station.) Another server overheard us talking, and she mentioned she too was celiac, and pointed out additional things to watch for on the menu. (No dedicated fryer, and the bahn mi's soy sauce has gluten.) After all the staff members being so open and accommodating, I felt much more confident my food would be safe. I ordered the grilled chicken with vegetables, which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. While not a huge selection of celiac-friendly foods, I could eat here with my non-celiac family. I did not react to eating here.

Very poor service. Told the waiter I was gluten free, he gave me a gluten free menu, I asked for the burger with a lettuce wrap (they don’t have gluten free buns which is not an issue) and they served me a burger with a bun. After giving it back to be replaced, the waiter comes with the burger and doesn’t know if it is a new burger or if they just took the buns off the old burger. The waiter returns after confirming it is a new burger and I still ended of being contaminated.

GFmenu. The waiter had to go find it. They finally found it. It's more limited but still plenty to eat. The menu has a disclaimer that it's all cooked in the same oil. Overall good, but if you are so sensitive, reusing oil is bad, I wouldn't recommend

Our server seemed pretty clueless so I was a bit nervous but I didn’t get sick. I ordered off the gluten free menu and asked for veggies and hummus for an appetizer. Hummus and pita was brought out to the table and the server said “things are crazy back in the kitchen”. That was very scary as the excuse. They changed that out and I had a burger in lettuce and the grits. The food was good and I didn’t get sick- but it also didn’t give me a ton of confidence that I wouldn’t get sick there in the future.

The manager came out and spoke with us after we realized the gluten-free menu WASN'T 100% gluten-free. This menu as is, IS NOT CELIAC SAFE. The fryer is shared and the "dedicated fryer" is too close to the regular fryer (all according to the manager). I order the hummus without pita, royale burger without a bun, and their jalapeño corn grits. The food was passable, I mean it was food. It wasn't really good but also wasn't horrible. I didn't get sick which I was pretty concerned about considering everything. The service was good though.

This location was a hot mess when it came to SEVERAL components of our dining experience, but the celiac/GF experience particularly left a lot to be desired. When asking about their kettle chips appetizer from the GF menu, to confirm if the chips were made in their shared fryer, our sweet but clueless waitress went to the chef and came back to say “it’s fine.” However, when asking again, (because “it’s fine” is usually what they say when they have no idea what they’re even asking about), she went to check again, and came back with “okay, do not eat the chips.” I mean, wow. If I hadn’t thought to ask again with doubt about her first answer, I would have been sick. Then, I ordered the steak salad from the GF menu, and am pretty sure the steak (which I ate) was marinated in teriyaki which we all know likely has gluten. So, 10/10 do NOT recommend this particular location for celiacs. They were disorganized, careless, not knowledgeable, and not on top of things at all.

Wonderful neighborhood spot. We have eaten here a few times over the last month and everything I've had so far was tasty and safe. We always ask for Carlos, great server, and he makes good celiac safe recommendations at each visit. No dedicated fryer do don't order any fried foods.
Yes
Food is good and they have a gluten free menu. The fries can be gluten free because they said there is a dedicated fryer but... I have also been told the opposite so not sure what to believe. Lettuce wrap for burgers, salads are good too
There was some confusion about what gluten-free options they had that was actually safe for Celiac. Have a shared fryer so nothing fried. I got fish tacos which were pretty good. Best of all no symptoms!

Never been here before but plan to come again! We enjoyed the burgers with lettuce wraps and fries. Delicious food (no cross contamination) and friendly service!

I was so happy to get a gluten free bun on my burger!
They have a wonderful gluten free menu with delicious options. Their menu includes appetizers and desserts!!!!!

Great food. Friendly, well- timed service. And not over priced. Look forward to coming back again.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable! Everything is made in house. Great dedicated GF menu! Our server asked if we were celiac or not right away. She then warned the fryers are cross contaminated, but we could order anything off the dedicated two sided GF menu. The burgers were great!
Yes
Marlows is usually a restaurant that I can trust. However this location is NOT celiac safe. They do not have a dedicated fryer and fried items where on the “GF” menu. We told the waitress about me having celiac and we even spoke to a manager beforehand. I ordered shrimp and grits, they brought it out with someone’s burger. That was an immediate red flag and my husband mentioned it to the waitress. She just said that she put gf on the ticket and said that it was safe. She was very ignorant on how cross contamination works and she kept insisting that it was fine. She even sent the manager over again to tell us that it was safe and to argue that it couldn’t be cross contaminated. It highly bothered my husband and I. They are not the ones who have to deal with the pain afterwards, they obviously have no clue about celiac disease and are trying to act like they do. Unfortunately I let hunger get the best of me and I ate it. This is one of the worst times I’ve been glutened in my life 🤢 Definitely NOT celiac safe. Highly disappointed in the manager and staff.
No
GF menu but high probability of cross contamination.
No
The staff was very knowledgeable and they had a great 2 sided gluten free menu. I had fish tacos with fries and it was amazing! There were other GF options such as salads, burgers, and even shrimp & grits. Great atmosphere. Prices were reasonable.
Yes
No dedicated fryer. Ask questions and pick something that is lower in possible cross contamination. They have a gluten free menu and I usually find knowledgeable servers.
I have eaten here for many years and love the fish tacos! So yummy and I’ve never gotten sick.
