NO LONGER HAVE A DEDICATED FRIER
Their ownership and menu has changed. Less options. Burger was a frozen patty.
Old review:
One of my favorite restaurants for sure! GF wings are crispy, the glory sauce is glorious, sweet potatoes fries are both soft and crunchy. Their GF bun is only $1 extra and very good. Large GF menu! I've never had an issue with getting glutenated.
If eating at the restaurant, it's a great option for gluten free American food. However, they don't mark which items are gf when picking up takeout or getting ot delivered, so I got glutened the first time I ordered takeout with a non celiac friend.
NO LONGER SAFE! Glory Days USED to be amazing, having grilled wings, gluten free sauces, dedicated gluten free fryer. But none of that is true anymore. Risk of cross contamination is high, NO gluten free menu, options are VERY limited if you have any kind of allergies. Fries and everything are in a shared fryer, I would no longer feel safe eating here if you have any kind of gluten intolerance or allergy of any kind for that matter. Super disappointing because they used to be fantastic, even winning awards for being allergy friendly.
Perfect if you need gluten free
Possibly one of the best burgers/fries I've had since celiac diagnosis. They have more than burgers though. There's a whole gluten free menu (posted online as well). The server wrote gluten free really big on her pad of paper and seemed knowledgeable. The fries were in a gluten free fryer. (Still ask though if you go just in case! You never know if things change.) I was worried about getting sick seeing some of the other reviews, but I didn't.
Great place for GF Wings and fries. They also offer a GF bun for burgers. Will come again, when visiting
Incredible service and probably my best dining experience other than sought after experiences post diagnosis. Very well informed staffed who had my questions answered with great speed and enthusiasm! Tara was a joy to have as my server! Tara also was knowledgeable on more than a surface level on celiac and gluten intolerance and just generally a joy to talk to!! The MIC on duty knew immediately when asked which sauces were gluten free, and that soy sauce was a common trigger, so color me very impressed. I am a food retail manager so to feel safe in a restaurant not solely catering to my needs is an awesome experience. A dedicated fryer makes a lady who loves wings and potato things very happy! Will look forward to dining here again for a lovely, easy night out.
My husband and I went here last night. There’s a separate gf menu with lots of options. I got the half rack of ribs ( so big that I couldn’t finish). Had ice cream sundae for dessert. Didn’t get sick. Very reasonable priced too. Definitely will return
It’s a chain. Gluten free menu with many choices. Dedicated fryer for fries. I had the ribs - no seasoning on ribs or fries. Food was ok - but I had no issues. Nothing special.
There is a gluten free menu with a large number of GF options. I got a burger with sautéed onions and mushrooms with cheese. The GF bun was delicious, fries were great. Our waiter was extremely careful with the multiple food allergies of our family, wrote them down, and double checked with the kitchen. The food was amazing, and I had no trouble. I’m not celiac, so don’t know about the fryer. I’ll definitely be back.
Waiter was very helpful and provided gluten free menu along with explanation they have a separate fry fryer and prepare the gluten free food separately. Additionally a different waiter brought out the gluten free food separately from the rest of the table who all had gluten.
Gluten free menu with lots of options. The buffalo chicken dip and nachos were amazing. Super sensitive celiac and didn’t get sick. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable
Not to be trusted. I made it clear I was gluten free as soon as I sat down and asked to make sure there was a gluten free area/fryer. The server insisted everything gluten free is made separately. The food was decent, sauce was a little thinner than normal, but I had awful pain and swelling all night.
There is a dedicated gf fryer. We were able to have wings and fries. There is no separate menu. They went over and beyond to accommodate my celiac husband. Even had the manager and the cook came out to make sure we were taken care of and to assure us that cross contamination would not happen! Great experience
I’m in love with this restaurant, they have a separate gluten free menu and they even have ice cream for dessert. As soon as I get there I let them know of my daughter’s allergies and ask to please be very careful about changing gloves, cleaning the area and everything. We have been there twice and never got sick.
Food was good and didn’t cause me any reactions. They actually brought me a paper printed gluten free menu which had everything including which sauces were safe. They had a dedicated fryer as well for fries and wings etc.
Gluten free fryer!! Chicken wings, Fries and omg the blue cheese you want to eat with a spoon.
Extremely disappointed in the change of management. Used to be a go-to and no longer can get some food here. Poor decision by glory days to get rid of the dedicated fryer.
Terrible for gluten free. Gave me regular chips and not those in gluten free fryer. Even though they said they have a dedicated fryer. They don't care about allergies
Great gluten free options. I love that they have a dedicated fryer! It’s one of a few restaurants in Winchester that offer fries. Also, they have gluten free bread for sandwiches. I’ve never had an issue there. Absolutely recommend it.
Large gf menu, including gf fries in dedicated fryer. BUT they said they will be changing their fries and will no longer be gf so call ahead if that’s important
Love the sweet potato fries!
Dedicated Frier for Gluten Free Items!!!
Tips- if you want GF wings, put the order in when seated. They take longer than anything else to make.
My typical order is the Strawberry Salad with Salmon. I always get a side of sweet potato f
ries.
I try to like it, I really do. It’s never right and the last straw was my Caesar Salad being delivered to me with croutons everywhere! The server was great and went to the kitchen to be sure they made a new salad and didn’t just pick off the croutons, but man, it was such a shock that I lost my appetite. It is convenient but I don’t feel it’s safe for symptomatic celiac, like me. 😩
They got rid of their gluten free menu and gluten free practices. Very disappointing!
Love this place! Dedicated fryer so enjoy all the goodies you normally can’t have. I go all the time here but have gotten sick off a burger. Usually get one of the salads love the Cobb! Fries and wings are awesome. Servers are pretty knowledgeable but if any doubt ask for a manager and you should be good.
The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and even confirmed a potential ingredient danger in the meal I ordered (soya sauce) and offered an alternative to how it was prepared. Dedicated fryers meant I could enjoy French fries in a restaurant! Great service and all 4 of us were impressed with our meals. Will definitely be heading there again.
I was diagnosed with Celiac disease 2 years ago and other than a few fast food places we haven’t been able to find a place where we can go and get food that both of us can eat. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. We’ve been twice in the last couple of weeks and we will definitely be going back again
The manager Mike, was very knowledgeable about Celiac. He explained that the chief has been sent through training and ensures all the prep staff are trained properly. They have a separate fryer for the fries. There isn’t a separate menu but we’re very knowledgeable about all the options. We will be back
Delicious French fries in a dedicated fryer! Wings were GF too, but I didn’t have them. Burger was good, but the seasoned fries stole my heart. They showed sports all over, but one tv had Peppa Pig on for the kids visiting legoland
I will say it took a long time to get our food the both times we were there, but allergy and I’m sure it’s rush hour for them after park close. Just be mindful and don’t go when you’re hangry ;-)
Used to be a safe go to place. I could even get loaded fries that were safe. Due to the recent change in ownership the company as a whole has gotten rid of the dedicated fryers and significantly reduced the GF menu. Big bummer and crumby of the company to disregard so many of their customers.
Edit 2/3/24: lowering from 2 stars to 1. I've had several worsening experiences but this takes the cake the grilled wings continuously come out charred and inedible. They blame it on having to grill them for longer instead of flash frying. But Glory Days seems to be the only place that has this issue. Other wing places that offer grilled wings don't seem to have this problem...
I have been 5 times and every different server takes the time and precautions to understand my needs and meets them. Usually manager checks on us too. Such attention! Dedicated fryer for fries is wonderful. I hadn’t eaten a French fry in sooo long. Now can. Certain wings are gf and theres a gf pizza, cauliflower crust. I am cow dairy free, so I substitute Feta (sheep) for mozzarella. Totally delicious; but skip carmelized onions ( cooked in butter). Unfortunately the GF is NO Longer an option. :( but traditional wings are and a separate fryer is available for wings and fries.
Went there recently, ordered off their GF menu and I got glutened
Been here many times before, but this was my first time since getting diagnosed with celiac and finding this website. I asked for the separate gluten-free menu at the start of my order, but didn't mention any special dietary requirements. I ordered the 1988 Sirloin, a loaded baked potato as the side, and a house salad. The house salad came with croutons and the main dish came with a side of bread despite being on the gluten-free menu. I'm still new to ordering gluten-free food at restaurants, so I just removed the bread and ate the rest. Still felt not quite right later that night and the next morning. Your mileage may vary.
Service was a bit off that night generally, as our waitress told us straight up that our food sat around for 20 minutes.
Glory Days used to have one of the best interactive allergen menus online but it has been deactivated and is nowhere to be found. With my horrible memory of what was and was not safe, I was left asking the server for an allergen menu. The server admitted she had no knowledge but would find out for me. (Server was amazing ftr) Within three seconds a rather rude hostess appeared telling me they did not have a gluten free menu. Ok. But I asked for an allergen menu as I have many… so I asked to speak to a mgr.
Hostess goes to mgr and comes back 30 seconds later and again with attitude, tells me they have GF options but no menu. Mind you, she doesn’t know what the gf options are and says again they have no dedicated gf menu.
Sweetie… I didn’t ask for a gf menu. I asked for allergen information and your mgr. Go get her…
More attitude before the “mgr” shows up and also immediately says “we don’t have a gf menu”. FFS someone listen to my request. I asked for an ALLERGEN menu. Not once did I say gluten free only. I explain my THREE allergens (gluten, dairy, soy) and I’m assured by the mgr that the wings and fries I want will be cooked in a dedicated fryer and will remain allergen compliant. Ok. I’ll give it a whirl…
Food comes out and there’s a cup of ranch on my plate despite me saying no ranch and explaining again the dairy allergy. Thankfully that was not spilled and didn’t appear to be an issue.
Food was decent enough and it doesn’t appear I’ve been glutened at this point. Wings were over cooked with minimal honey old bay.
If you want great wings and safe fries, Glory Days is an amazing option. But skip the Lakeland location and drive to Winter Haven. Never once had an issue at the WH location . This location is filled with college kids that have ZERO knowledge of allergens and had no problem giving attitude to customers. (Not to mention talking trash and cursing while clearing tables nearby.)
This location is a hard pass from now on.
Have come here several times and have never gotten sick and the food is always good, but as of Oct 2023, they have a new GF menu and fried stuff is no longer included. Our waitress said that that’s a new corporate menu and that some locations up north started selling new fries that aren’t GF so their fryers aren’t dedicated anymore, but this location hasn’t switched to the new fries yet. If you really want fries or something else that goes in the fryer, it’s worth continuing to ask at this location. I’ll try and update my review or add a new one when we can no longer get fries.😭
Used to be my favorite spot and could have wings, fries and burgers but not anymore cooperate ruined a good thing
Fantastic with their knowledge and gluten free option. Very accommodating with modifying menu items to be gluten free and staff take it very seriously. Update as of 9/23: they have taken away their dedicated gluten free fryer and the gluten free food menu has been cut in half and the quality has gone down.
I used to go here all the time and loved it. Recently, the service has been terrible and the food makes me very sick. They used to have a dedicated fryer but I guess that has changed now which makes most of their food unsafe for celiacs.
Used to be our “go-to” when we wanted a safe place to eat so I don’t have to worry - until this past weekend when our server informed us that they are changing their menu and kitchen standards and as of Apr 2023 they will no longer have a gluten free kitchen, dedicated fryer, or some of their gluten free menu items. After informing us of this he was reprimanded by his manager because they don’t want to tell people yet “to lose business”. Not sure about every location as we usually only go to the Winchester one, but needless to say I’m extremely disappointed!
