I ordered a burger with a GF bun, and asked the server if the fries had their own fryer. She was unsure but checked and said they were not, so I had a side salad with no croutons. There was no clear gluten in my meal (the bun was definitely GF as it fell apart super easily), but two hours later and I'm in awful pain. Definitely some cross contamination or gluten in sauce/gluten that I was not aware of. I wouldn't say this place is safe for celiac, which is disappointing as I loved it here before I was diagnosed.
It’s a sports bar so definitely not an option if cross contamination is an issue for you. They have several GF options on their menu. I chose a burger with a GF bun and ordered a side salad but noticed it had a crouton buried under the lettuce. The wait staff seemed knowledgeable and friendly and with lots of options, I appreciated the effort. Hopefully, they continue to improve the experience for allergy customers.
I read the reviews previous to my visit and thought I’d be safe but I personally wouldn’t recommend visiting. Despite previous comments, I was told the naked wings were fried in the same fryer as other items. I was told that they grill buns on the grill. So I decided to just get a salad to be safe without grilled chicken. Until I was told no salad dressings were 100% safe except the balsamic vinaigrette. At this point, I just told them to take the salad off because my anxiety was too high. Super disappointed about this experience as I watch my husband eat wings and I’m stuck with water. But this is not a safe place in general.
Good experience. Menu items are well marked and there is a good selection available including burger buns and pasta. My son, 13, wanted something slightly different and Savanna the waitress was great help getting the kitchen to adjust a dish to suit. Overall food and service was excellent
We brought my daughter here because they have great gluten free options. She was excited to have some gluten free pasta but when she was almost done with her meal she asked me why some of the pasta looked different I realized that the GF pasta was fettuccini but the regular pasta was angel hair. Some of the angel hair pasta was in with her GF fettuccini. We spoke to the manager who told us they cook all of the pasta in the same water even the gluten free pasta so some of the noodles get through sometimes. So disappointing when we thought we found a good safe gluten free option for my daughter.
Our waitress “Mad Dog” was super helpful when I let her know I was gf/allergic. She quickly shared that they do offer gf pasta, just was not noted on their menu yet. She was very helpful with discussing the menu options (most importantly, she didn’t have to go ask someone else). I had the Alfred pasta with broccoli one of my absolute favorites pre-celiacs and this dish was spot-on. The fettuccine was smooth and light, very good đ They are knowledgeable about the disease and do their best to keep everything separate but they do not have a dedicated gf kitchen.
While the food was good, staff didn’t know what a GF bun should look like and served my burger on a normal bun. I ended up in the emergency room from being so sick. First time I ever took a doctor my pain was a 10…
The staff totally screwed up both my order and my wife’s.
It’s a sport bar so GF is limited.
Gluten free pasta is like linguine and regular pasta is angel hair to avoid confusion. Shrimp Scampi was delicious. Large portion, I was going to take half home but it was just SO good.
I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken. Waitress was very kind and helpful with gluten free and non spicy. She made sure to not have the bread sticks and was clear about gluten free. I should have asked for broccoli or something to replace the bread.
We went at lunch on a Monday. Service was a bit slow, but overall was a good experience.
I got a burger on a gluten free bun w fries and it was great. No stomach issues.
Asked the waiter for the GF menu and they said it was missing. Literally had to guess because the waiter had no idea. The kids menu was marked “gluten sensitive” so I’m hoping my child is ok, we will find out tonight. We ordered adult burgers with GF buns but they didn’t have any GF buns. The menu advertises Udis GF buns. Fries are not GF. Very disappointing overall.
Gluten free menu with a good amount of options. Got a cob salad with chicken at lunch time and it was so big I ate half and then was able to fill an entire to go container with the left overs. The staff is really knowledgeable and made sure to tell me it was gluten free as the brought it out which I love the reassurance. I will definitely be visiting again.
Update I ate here again. This time had a burger on a gluten free bun (udis) it was so delicious!
Menu is limited but when I ordered GF shrimp scampi it came out with garlic cheese bread. I asked if the dish was GF and they said yes. I then asked why there was bread on the plate. I got a “we will fix that” response. Thankfully they did not just take the bread off. The manager came back and said it was the last bag of GF pasta so I needed to order something else. Thankfully they are comping my meal, but it is disappointing.
đ¨RANTđ¨Should be 0 stars. Just left Duffy’s Sports Bar after a grueling and terrible experience. They offer gf sensitive items for adults, but nothing really for kids. I asked them to use the Udi roll they offer for the grilled cheese. They said they couldn’t. Asked about their gf pasta for a kids portion, they said no. So they brought out a full portion size of GF pasta with butter that I could pick up and throw against the wall and it wouldn’t fall apart. I’m disgusted. This is after we were waiting for our order to be taken for 15 minutes. I know some of this isn’t relevant, but I’m just so freaking exhausted and frustrated every time we go out to dinner.
The reason I go to Duffys is BECAUSE they have burgers with a gluten free bun. So, imagine my surprise when I checked my take out order and there wasn't any bun anywhere! Oh there is an upcharge....and your point is.....I want a gluten free burger with a gluten free bun! That is what I have always ordered and that is what I have always gotten. I don't care if there is an upcharge. That has never happened to me before at Duffys. Is this their new policy? I can go anywhere and get a burger patty with no bun.
Had the chili and bacon mushroom cheeseburger. Both were very good but regular bread was on the side of the plate the cup of chilli was on which made me nervous but not issues. Wait staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Most servers in your area stop to ensure all is good not just your own server which was lovely. Would eat here again.
They have a gluten free menu which is nice but we tried ordering online and they said if we wanted to get it gluten free we would have to pick it up because it may not come out as gluten free. So we went there for dinner instead and requested gluten free and it came out as a regular bun and you could tell by the amount of time it took to fix the order that they just put the same burger on the gluten free bun. So do NOT come here if you have an allergy.
Staff very knowledgeable about gluten-free. Separate menu, pasta and burger buns. Eaten there many times without getting sick.
I made it very clear that I have celiac to the server and she was totally clueless when it came to safest options to minimize the risk of cross contamination. They do have a gluten sensitive menu but have a warning listed that it’s not a GF environment. My chili That I ordered (thinking it would be the safest best for minimizing the risk) came out to me with a slice of regular bread. They clearly don’t care or understand at this location. I would avoid this place if you have celiac.
Used to trust them . Now i dont. The server put croutons on my salad after i asked him not to and stayed i was gluten free. Then i ordered a tuna burger on a gf bun and about 3 bites into it i realized it WAS A REGULAR BUN!needless to say i got glutened and they tried to rectify it by a free gift card but it ruined probly what will be my whole weekend
We went here with extended family while on a family trip. I didn’t choose this place and was initially very apprehensive because of past reviews. However, I decided to make the most of it. I was most concerned with my two celiac children. This place has offerings consistent with sports bars. The gluten-free menu is actually labeled “gluten sensitive.” It isn’t extensive, but offers a few items including gluten free pasta Alfredo. When I spoke to the waiter—he immediately gave me the gluten sensitive menu, but was not able to answer any questions about preparations. He said he would send a manager. The manager said not to worry, because the gluten free items would trigger a special preparation on the ticket. I kept on telling him that the food could not have any cross contamination and he did not suggest he would speak to anyone about it, but just said that the cooks were careful. Ummmmmm—lets just say that it didn’t bring me any confidence at all and after using up so much energy trying to explain to both waiter and manager and waiting about half an hour, I talked to my kids and they settled on gluten free pasta. My son had a marinara on his and my daughter went for the Alfredo. My son thoroughly enjoyed his tiny helping and actually wanted more. My daughter’s pasta was undercooked and very chewy, but her shrimp were great. I would say that this was not my favorite place and if given the choice, I would not return here not just because of the gluten concerns, but because the service was lacking overall, each person’s food came out at a different time, the waiter would disappear, the bathrooms were disgusting, and the manager seemed a little too lax and unconcerned with my kids’ orders. Neither of them got sick, so I won’t say that they messed anything up, but as far as restaurants go in general, this was just not my favorite.
My son (who is anaphylactic to wheat) ate a burger safely with an Udis GF bun. My other son and I ate Fettuccini Alfredo (mine blackened, his regular) with GF pasta. I appreciated having other options beyond salad.
Excellent GF menu. Servers are knowledgeable and we’ve never had an issue with my severely milk and gluten allergic son. GF buns for burgers and sandwiches are great too.
