Freddy's does not offer a gluten-free bun or a dedicated fryer. However they do offer a lettuce wrapped burger and Baked Lays potato chips as a side option. In addition the allergen information on their website also identifies the chili, custard, and several toppings do not contain gluten. We always inform the staff that she is celiac and must strictly avoid gluten. She has never had any problems after eating at Freddy's. Freddy's is one of our main go to for a quick lower risk gluten free meal.

Manager was great about listening and doing her best to meet the high level of care celiac food needs, and had the order restarted a few times when something wasn’t made carefully enough. I tried the restaurant several times, since such a strong effort was made and their food was really good. But most times I still had a reaction. =(
They have a fryer they sometimes keep gluten free but sometimes use mixed for busy periods, so that’s a bit of a risky option too.
Highly recommended burger joint for non-celiacs. Great food and fantastic customer service even if not celiac safe. Review is a celiac star rating, but is otherwise 4.5/5 stars.
Probably safe enough for gluten sensitive, but not set up for the total avoidance of cross-contamination needed.

Staff doesn't know what has gluten in it when asked. Frozen Custard was good. Lettuce wrap was depressing. Probably wouldn't order again.

This location does not have a dedicated fryer for French fries! Burgers can be ordered with lettuce wraps but I'm unsure how safe it is cross contamination wise.

I eat here often and never get sick. I tell them I'm gluten free, they tag my order and notify the kitchen. I've watched one person change gloves, make my entire meal, plate it and bring it to me to ensure no cross contamination. You can have plain custard as well so you don't miss out on anything here.

Staff not knowledgeable about gluten. According to website, should be able to order lettuce wrap burger (like you can at Five Guys) ... however, on the two occasions we have tried, the staff was unfamiliar with concept of gluten free and included fries in bag with GF burger, despite being told gluten allergy and not wanting them. Five guys is exceedingly careful by comparison.
They don’t put any gluten on the grill and they Lettuce wrap anything you want and you can get their regular custard w/o anything it awesome
Anything you want

They do not have a dedicated gluten free kitchen, but I have not had any problems. Also, their grilled chicken is really good :)
They were very helpful- burger /lettuce wrap was great!! Fries were great too! Staff was very nice!

Corporate website boasts several GF options. The manager at this location says none of their items are gluten free.

I got a kid’s meal burger as a lettuce wrap and it was great! I got french fries too with no problems, and the concrete was amazing! The staff was nice and accommodating.

Staff was very knowledgeable and assured me that precautions would be taken to prevent cross-contamination. I got a lettuce wrapped burger and it tasted great! They were very busy but managed to keep my meal safe!
Yes
There is a list of all allergens on all menu items available online. They do offer lettuce wraps and ice cream flavors that are gluten-free. Unfortunately, the fries do not have a dedicated fryer.
Great tasting food! Not a great place for people with celiac disease. Very little available.
No
They'll lettuce wrap your burger, but they told me they didn't have a dedicated gluten free fryer. They told me I could risk it, but since they occasionally fry chicken or onion rings they can't guarantee it. Looks risky all around for those with celiac.
No
GREAT PLACE!! Freddy's is like In & Out and Steak & Shake (from back east). Loved the way they totally enclose the burger in lettuce so it's not so messy. Burger had great flavor with just onion. The way they do it is much better than In & Out! Fries are shoestring type, cooked in a dedicated fryer, and come in a large serving with the meal option. My wife (not Celiac) and I shared a frozen custard that was fantastic! If you're traveling and a Freddy's Steakburger, don't pass it by.
Yes
I saw a review on trip advisor that said their fries are gluten-free as well as their frozen custard. Also, they are accommodating to wrap a burger in lettuce as to avoid needing a bun.
Definitely not gluten-free friendly. At least they are kind enough to post a notice that basically tells you that they don't care to even try to help people with allergies. Fryers in shared oil, etc. I would have zero confidence eating here. My son ate and I watched.
No
The staff was knowledgeable. They offered lettuce wrapped burgers. They have a dedicated fryer for their fries. Lots of options. Very impressed!

Went to Freddy's in San Antonio because it was on my Find me gluten free app. I was very disappointed! The staff didn't really get the gluten free thing in fact I overheard the staff who were preparing the burgers saying why would she come here if she wanted gluten free. I talked with the manager who apologized, but I'm pretty sure I was cross contaminated. I will never eat here again Very disappointed
There aren’t any real GF options but overall with the food I got, it was good!!!
Totally GF clueless. Not recommended for Celiac's.
No
Custard is gluten free and so are the fries.
According to their website, the fries and custard are GF. I had both of those with no issues. They offer a lettuce-wrapped burger.
Found a piece of Oreo in my cup of vanilla custard. 😮
This was after making it clear to them what I can and can't eat.
No
They use a common fryer at the Centerville location. I would not come here if you're celiac.
No
Seem to respect the gf need. Their fryer doesn't brother me with cross contamination. No gf buns that I've found here hit their lettuce wraps//burgers are great
no gluten-free buns but they do have lettuce wraps. Can't eat the fries

I have eaten here twice since being diagnosed with Celiac two months ago. I ordered the cheeseburger lettuce wraps both times but the second time I ordered fries as well. I asked if they were cooked separately and was told they were, but I was glutened after the most recent attempt. I assume the source was the fries. Freddy's seems to be careful but just be sure to be vocal about your disease or intolerance.
I looked at their allergen list online and was very fortunate that the manager took our order. He listened catefully and then personally handled our entire order! I had hot dogs, without buns, with chili, cheese and onions. I was just really happy to be able to eat a somewhat normal and fast meal with my wife before going to the movies nearby. I had no reaction but my wife watched and said the manager was very careful. He warned me that the fries are not cooked in a dedicated fryer so I avoided them but I really appreciated his efforts!
They have an allergy list and I talked to a manager who has a family member with Celiac Disease so was pretty knowledgeable about what would and would not work. There was a decent GF selection but not everything, of course. There is no separate fryer. Overall, I would return.
Just finished my lettuce wrapped burger- delicious!
The staff was very helpful here and when I said I had Celiac they started over and marked my meal as allergy meal. My boyfriend and I each got a California steak burger with lettuce wrap and I substituted fries, which aren't safe, with baked lays and he got the PBC&B concrete which was great!
Stopped for a quick little something in the way to a concert near the Nampa, ID location. I asked for just a burger patty. Server offered me a lettuce wrapped Steakburger. It was very fresh and tasty, and the custard was great. Maybe not the fanciest, biggest meal, but very clean restaurant, good service, safe food. Price was reasonable.

Love Freddy's. You can any sandwich in a lettuce wrap & it's even listed on the menu where you can see it as an option when ordering!
Yes
The veggie burger is not Gluten Free. However, please ask for the Allergy Friendly Menu for more information on the types of food do not have gluten in them.
No real GF options. Lettuce wraps their only option.

Hamburgers can be ordered GF with a lettuce wrap instead of a bun. Some custard desserts are GF.
My first time going to Freddy's after being diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I asked for a manager and explained what I needed to know, like ingredients and if they knew about Celiac Disease. To my surprise, he did! He made everyone change gloves and put wax paper down to prepare my food. My order was noted with a food allergy. I was able to eat a lettuce wrap safely and did not get sick!
