I wouldn’t recommend coming here. Very few gluten free options. I also don’t eat beef/chicken and asked them to accommodate me by modifying a salad. The manager was extremely rude, walked off after I asked basic questions, and didn’t try to help at all. If I could submit zero stars I would.

I stick to basic sushi here. I’m personally not comfortable ordering off the kitchen menu. Sushi is okay.

They do mark GF , but the gf options were very limited. Only one thing on the menu if you are also dairy free.

Over priced. Too expensive and you’ll leave hungry. Very limited gf menu - essentially sushi or sashimi. They do not have Tamari so I just ate it plain. I won’t be going back…
I am a symptomatic celiac. I had the GF Cilantro Lime Chicken and I did get sick. Unless you have sushi, I would be wary.

Celiac here. We got sushi to go from here. My son (also celiac wanted to try sushi in theory).
They made him his own sushi with just cucumbers. I got the Philly roll. Both were fantastic and gluten free!
I also ordered another roll that was tuna and it wasn’t my favorite a little on the fishy side. I’ll definitely stick with the Philly roll and order two next time!

They do have gf soy sauce but there was one or two entrees that were gluten free and no gluten free bun. Very limited options besides edamame, steamed veggies, sushi, a salad and the yogurt chicken. However my veggie roll and chopped salad were very good!

Kona Grill is a fantastic dining spot that goes above and beyond in catering to guests with gluten-free dietary needs. During my recent visit, I was impressed by their attentive staff who were extremely helpful in guiding me towards gluten-free options on the menu. What stood out to me the most was the clear labeling of gluten-free items, making it easy for me to make informed choices. The overall experience at Kona Grill was delightful, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a restaurant that prioritizes dietary preferences without compromising on taste and quality.

Not a ton of options (1 app, 2 salads, 1 entree, 2 sushi rolls, 1 dessert) but everything is marked, the server was conscientious and double-checked things, the chicken and rice were a fun new flavor combo for me, and I had no issues.

Fun restaurant with a large menu, however there are only 5 gluten free options. Won’t be coming back. We had a reservation for the patio and were seated in an extremely sunny spot. They were unwilling to close the window next to us to provide a protection from the blaring sun. Loud music and large drink menu if that’s your thing.

Several gluten-free options, but very limited for dairy-free as well. I ordered the spicy yellowtail roll & gluten-feee soy was sauce available. Doesn’t seem celiac safe based on the disclaimers on the menu. No dedicated fryers.

Kona Grill USED TO have a decent GF menu including sushi. As of Dec 2022 they only have 3 GF items: Edamame appetizer, Chopped Salad entree, and Turmeric Rice side item. The service when I went there was terrible. I asked for water when we sat down and never got it. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks, I asked for water with each order and never got it. I was asked if I wanted a 3rd round and I said no, I just want water and I never got it. I asked for silverware twice and didn’t get it until I asked again after the entrees were delivered. We had no napkins or cutlery when we were eating our appetizer. I didn’t get sick but it was an expensive and bad dinning experience.

We went there for a nice dinner thinking there was gonna be a lot of options based on other reviews. The staff did try their best, but there were not really any options. I spoke with the manager and he had an allergen sheet, but it seemed like he didn’t understand cross contamination. It’s not the staff’s fault. I was sad. We just payed for our drinks and walked out

I'm gluten free & requested gluten free soy sauce & found 2 nats at the surface of it. I requested a new one & found another so decided to pour it out to see & there were probably 20 nats in the tiny cup. Keep in mind i found this after eating my first roll of sushi with it. I'm so grossed out & will never be coming back. Moral of the story, check your soy sauce. This was a $78 meal where I got no discount after bringing the soy sauce situation to attention. Actually most disgusting eating out encounter i have had. This restaurant must not be clean in the slightest. So disgusting that i got served this. Gross.

If you are eating gluten free there is only 6 food items on the large menu that are safe. Add in lactose intolerance and there is two. One is the chopped salad which was great but nothing fancy. Or traditional ( not rolled) sushi. Both were good just wouldn't recommend if you want more choices.

If you go to Kona Grill, be sure you know that they are serving from their regular menu. We went on Christmas Eve, after calling the day before and asking about gluten-free selections, and were surprised with a special “Christmas menu“ when we arrived. There were only two gluten-free items on the Christmas menu, edamame, from the appetizer list and a chef salad. There was nothing else, without a big change, like a burger w/o a bun and fries, that could be done. Even after mentioning that we called ahead to make sure of the GF offerings, they wouldn’t deviate from their menu for the day. Really a disappointment.

2 GF sushi rolls. Food didn't make me sick but wasn't very good. Everything seemed stale and dry. It was very loud inside with an in house DJ, which made communicating with our server difficult.

Sadly, we got sick as dogs later that night. Our waitress was told that we were celiac (me and my son) and assured us that our choices (clearly marked on menu) were safe for us. Unfortunately, we were notified after we ordered that the eel roll (marked as gf) actually had gluten - that should have been our red flag! Fortunately we didn't eat the eel, but there was something in our final food that either contained gluten or got contaminated. Not sure what got us in the end, but will not go back.

When making the reservation for our dinner, the hostess asked if anyone had dietary restrictions. I appreciated them noting that. When arrived, the hosted reminded us to let the waitress know we needed gluten free. Menu was clearly marked with gluten free options. Waitress confirmed what my son was ordering would be gluten free. Manager brought food to him and reassured us it was cooked with no gluten. Was very happy with Kona Grill and the service.
Yes
I had the Yellowtail sushi and yellowtail roll. Both Nima tested safe and delicious!

Kona Grill doesn't have any gluten free options any longer. They used to be one of my favorite places because they had an easy menu to figure out but they don't support the gluten free folks anymore.

I went this past year and the experience was HORRIBLE! The waitress had no idea what celiac meant or gluten free! Another waitress came to take the order told us the food was safe, as the food started coming out the manager came running over to remove ALL the food we were told was safe to eat. We left hungry and have never been back! I have email correspondence with the owner and head office. was a disaster of an experience.

Ordered a GF labeled meal and made sure to say it was “gluten free allergy”. The server came back and said that part of the meal(the side)would have to be changed out due to the sauce and replaced with white rice. While I am definitely glad they came and told me I was a bit confused as to why it was GF labeled on the menu and shared that with the server who did not really get it or care. I did not get sick from the meal which is good. So beware when eating there that things labeled are not accurate
Not a ton of GF options, but my fiancé and I ordered sushi and they let us build our own rolls, as well as provided us GF soy sauce. Knowledgeable of GF, and no issues with cross contamination. The sushi was pretty tasty, too!
Yes
The staff was very good with helping me find the Gluten-Free items on the menu and they automatically said that the preparers would change gloves

UPDATE: they have changed the menu and removed the salad below. There is not a separate GF menu now. There are a limited number of items marked GF on main menu. The Cilantro-Lime Chicken is amazing and the staff has always seemed to make sure it’s marked GF. So I will keep the 5 stars for now. But I would still like to have more options for their sushi rolls. No flavor in any of the choices.
There is a separate GF menu ( as well as vegan). It is limited but there were good options. The server wasn’t super educated in why things weren’t GF or if they could be altered to be but was willing to go ask. I ended up with the Chili Lime shrimp salad which was perfect for a lite lunch. Expensive for a salad ($15) but tasty. And I didn’t have any issues with it after.
I would like to have more options for the sushi rolls.

Wait staff was excellent. Very accommodating. Food was excellent. Loved it there
No longer have a separate GF menu and although there are some GF options listed, I got sick even after confirming with the server I am celiac and that I needed GF soy sauce and NO sauce on the one roll I ordered.
No
My server was not knowledgeable of the menu and gluten free accommodations, or even what Celiac Disease is. She did go talk to the kitchen, but I did not get a response for a very long time. It took over an hour to get our food. The prices are definitely too high for what you get and the quality. The menu does have GF labels on it, but there were not nearly as many options as I expected based on previous reviews.

We ate here for Mother's Day, they're sushi is really good, no gluten.
