The items on the linked menu (if ordered as directed*) are prepared to be “gluten friendly.” However, these items are not necessarily gluten free. Because most Texas Roadhouse dishes are made from scratch, cross-contact with allergens can occur. If you are gluten sensitive, we recommend you review the list of suggested menu items** with a qualified medical professional prior to consumption.

This was my second visit here since my celiac diagnosis. I ordered the grilled shrimp both times. The first visit a manager came out and explained their process and asked if that would be acceptable. It included using a pan instead of placing on the grill to avoid cross contamination. Also, she said the seasoning would not be used as it was not gluten free, but I would be provided with some garlic butter to dip them in. All was good. The second visit was for my daughter's birthday and it was a horrible experience. I ordered the exact same meal and explained my needs. The waitress had no education on food allergies. I explained THEIR process to her, including no seasoning, no rice, and cooked on pan instead of grill (as explained by the previous manager) and asked that the kitchen be told this was a true gluten allergy. The shrimp came out covered in the seasoning. When I questioned the guy serving the food, the waitress interrupted letting me know she spoke to a manager and they don't cook things any different for gluten allergies and they just consider it "gluten friendly." Unacceptable! After explaining the situation again, she said she would have it cooked again without the seasoning. After everyone was done eating, I still hadn't received my food. Asked the waitress to put it in a to go box when they did have it ready and it was another 15 minutes before it came. We had even paid already! I was starving so I ate the food on the way home, but I may pay for it later. I have zero confidence in the way it was prepared. Go elsewhere!

I had the Herb crusted chicken with a sweet potato and side salad. The server was knowledgeable about what items on the menu were gluten free. The server was very helpful and kind! I asked the server when they were putting my order in if they could notify that it was to be gluten free because of an allergy. The server said they would and on my receipt it was confirmed that! I feel comfortable going back to this restaurant.

I ordered a steak and baked potato. The waitor wrote down it was an allergy and when a different waitress brought it out, I asked if it was GF and she said no. She was really good about it and said she would get the cook to make me a new steak and potato as she said they brush baked potatoes with the same brush to season steaks. The manager brought out the new meal and it was really good. I would've liked a discount since they knew it was their fault and I waited awhile for the new meal to come. But what can you do.

The worst gluten reaction I have had to date. I am very sensitive to cross contamination, but hoped that I could order a simple grilled salmon filet (no seasoning, no butter) and steamed broccoli without issue. After telling the server that I have Celiac’s and inquiring about their practices to minimize cross contamination, I was assured that the staff was aware of gluten allergies and that every precaution would be taken with my meal. Within 20 minutes of eating, I knew something was wrong and spent the next two weeks dealing with my body’s response. I have no way of knowing where the contamination occurred, but can safely say that I won’t be back.

The gluten free menu is unclear as it's "suggestions" not a menu and lists rice as a deletion, but it's actually "seasoned rice" on menu. My plate got cooked twice because it came out with a sliced roll (mate's didn't even though he ordered with gluten) and there was confusion over the spices being gluten free or not.

Their staff is not trained in gluten allergies at all. They don’t even know what menu items have gluten. I’ve gotten sick every time I’ve been there. I even reached out to their corporate to suggest they provide training to the staff but I was not taken seriously.

If you have issues with airborne gluten don’t eat here. Constantly making rolls puts a lot of flour and gluten in the air.

They try. Food has to be cooked in foil because their butter and spices contain gluten. Food was not good because of the foil cooking situation, and I still had a reaction š

Worked out ok for me-grilled beef filet, baked potato and salad without croutons
Ordered a burger with no bun. Asked at the to go window to make sure there was no bun, they said there was bo bun. When we got home we noticed 1/2 the bun on the burger had been ripped off. When we called about it, they did not take any responsibility. Would not recommend take out if they are going to lie about it.

Absolutely awful. I ordered to go for me and my boyfriend. I ordered off of the Gluten Friendly Menu. They put bread on my plate after I said I was Celiac/Gluten free. My boyfriends had to bring it back. The manager then told the cook to remake it. Half way through eating it I noticed an entire macaroni noodle in my food. Needless to say I’m super sick today. And my boyfriend went back to explain how upset he was and they did not care one bit. They kept saying “if you call we will make sure the correct precautions are made.” And my boyfriend said, “right but I came inside and told you guy my girlfriend has celiac and to use precautions and she had literally noodles in her food.” Because of a TXRH’s poor management, staff and overall experience… I will never return and urge others to never go.

I ALWAYS get sick after eating here. No matter how carefully I order or tell the server. They are not GF friendly in the slightest. One time I ordered a Caesar salad no croutons and you could see where they have picked off the croutons as there were still bread crumbs on the salad.

Does not have a gluten free kitchen but I ordered the grilled chicken salad with no marinade on chicken, no croutons and no bacon bits with oil and vinegar for dressing. Told waitress I had celiac so she came back and told me it would take a little longer on mine because the kitchen didnt read no marinade so they were making another one. So although not dedicated gluten free I was able to enjoy my food. Waitress Jennifer was very sweet and careful with my order.

They did not have a gluten free menu. I informed our Server that I was Celiac and also have a wheat allergy. He informed me that the steaks, grilled fish, and shrimp would be good choices, and that most of the sides are gluten-free. I told him again that no gluten can touch my food or plate. He said that when he inputs the order, he can mark it as allergy protocol. I ordered the steak and grilled shrimp, with a salad (only the oil and vinegar dressing is gluten free!) and sweet potato with brown sugar cinnamon butter on the side. The first time it came out the skewer of shrimp was laying on bread š¬š¤®š. I refused it, and told him to make everything new because all the items had touched the bread. He came back with new shrimp on a new plate, but the same steak and potato. I refused it again.. I, again, explained to him. The manager came out and apologized. She said she would go back, talk to the cook, and make sure he changed his gloves and was making my food fresh. The third time my food was brought out by a food runner, with gloves on š By this time, I was almost afraid to eat it but was assured that it was prepared separately and away from gluten. I was with a large group of ladies who were all eating, so I decided to risk it. It was delicious š and I did not get sick or feel in any way that I had been glutened. Way to go Rosie! Hurrah, a manager who knows about gluten and cross-contamination š

Our waitress was nice and tried to help. I asked for a gluten free menu and she looked for one and let me know she couldn’t find one. So, I ordered a steak with ONLY salt & pepper, loaded baked potato, and green beans. I have heard that their steak seasoning has gluten in it so I thought salt and pepper would be a safe choice. Someone who had ordered a different steak got my salt and peppered one and I got one with their house seasoning. I didn’t realize it until it was too late. I got the sickest I’d ever been before I had even left the parking lot. This establishment is NOT safe for celiacs.

I love Texas Roadhouse, but after being diagnosed with celiac, I’ve gone there 3 times and have gotten sick each time after choosing food strictly from there GF menu, and telling them I had a gluten allergy. Depends how strict you are and how sick you get but I wouldn’t recommend going there unfortunately. So i’m unsure how hard they’re trying to take the necessary precautions or there’s just too much cross contamination.

We hadn’t eaten at a Texas Roadhouse in over 3 years. Looked at their online menu a few weeks ago and it looked like they had made significant improvements with regards to GF options.
Once we arrived we ordered the potato skins, I told our server that we needed them to pay attention to cross contamination. She came back with the manager who gave us this little GF menu that I will attach to this review. I asked about the online menu stating this item did not contain gluten, she said that they don’t know for sure. I mean, come on, it’s potatoes slices in half, with cheese and bacon.
Apparently whatever they season their steaks with contains gluten, the server didn’t care enough to ask who at our table needed the steak to be GF, so they didn’t bother to season any of them. My 6 and 8 year old girls even commented on how bad they tasted.
For a steakhouse to care so little about accommodating GF options is really disappointing.

As an employee with celiac i was glad to find out we have a decent sized “gluten friendly” menu- i’ve eaten there nearly 100 times and have only gotten sick twice. no dedicated kitchen space or fryer but still plenty of options. i would recommend no toppings or salads but everything else is relatively safe from cross contamination :) i don’t speak for the store or company this is just my personal experience!

I’ve been to multiple TX Roadhouse locations and never had an issue. I don’t get steak though, marinade has soy sauce in it. I order salmon, loaded baked potato and there are some other veggie sides you can have. No bread of course. I make sure to tell the server “no gluten” and they’ll usually repeat it back to me. I’ve tried the green beans and they are good! Sometimes my 2nd side is the loaded sweet potato that I take home later for dessert.

I ordered an 8 oz. sirloin and grilled shrimp combo, with a salad and corn as my side. I went over my allergy with the waiter, but my plate still had bread on it(my shrimp was laid directly on it), and no corn. 30 minutes later I received my meal and a $5 discount, still no corn. Finally got my corn, headed home, had a reaction shortly after that. Will NEVER go back.

I don’t recommend the Texas Roadhouse in Arnold, MO! I ordered off the gluten free menu and they still brought my steak out with seasoning and butter which have gluten in it. I sent it back and they brought a new one out 20 minutes later after everyone else was done eating with a baked potato which isn’t what I ordered but at that point I didn’t care because I was super hungry. Well that baked potato had butter and sour cream mixed together on the side and the sour cream wasn’t listed as gf on their gluten free menu so after all of that I could end up sick tonight anyway.
