I would not recommend, I had explained I was celiac and asked to change his gloves aswell as grab the ingredients from the back so there is no cross contamination. The employees said there isn’t any cross contamination but did change his gloves and made my sandwich with the contaminated ingredients… this was a terrible experience for me as a new celiac.
Gluten free bread available
They offer gluten free bread. It’s not the best but if you load your sandwich with cheese and sauce, you can’t really taste it
Subway offers gluten free buns but the staff had no knowledge of how to prepare food gluten free or what other ingredients were gluten free. They kindly directed me to an allergen QR code and manage to find which meats and sauces were ok to eat. Against my better judgement I proceeded to order and not surprised my celiac son is not feeling well a day after.
The staff was incredibly respectful and diligent while preparing my sandwich. Would not hesitate to go back and pick up a sandwich from this subway location.
Offers gluten free subs
Even at 10 min before closing my gal. ( 111) showed me what GF options were available. She got fresh thing out of back and fridge to ensure that there was not cross contamination. I choose a lovely salad. Very friendly and knowlegdeable
Pains sans gluten disponible, plusieurs option de repas même pour déjeuner.
Gluten free Subway Establishment.
They offer gluten free bread. The bread is wrapped to avoid cross contamination. They place it on a parcement paper. If you want it toasted, they will do it with parcement paper over
I ordered a gluten free vegetarian sandwich. It was alright, bread was a bit dry
Sweet onion sauce has gluten in it but all the other sauces are gluten free. (double check their sauce list)
the employee was great and immediately asked about celiac disease and pointed out cross contamination points. even prepared the sub on the other counter and opened new bins for the ingredients. very impressed overall. your experience will probably depend on the employee though.
Checked their allergen menu because nothing is written gluten-free. You need to be careful to check the right one because the one that was in the restaurant dated from 2017 so I checked the most recent one online. They have a gluten-free bread but I didn’t feel like eating a sandwich that day so I took a rice bowl (the mix is gluten-free and the only one you can take is either Green Goddess or the Steak one). We took both and they were both good.
The young lady that worked the morning the first time we went was awesome, she cleaned up all the area needed and took as much precautions as she could, she did a great job!
I had a great experience here. Ordered a cold cut combo with GF bread. Their menu has several GF options for meats and toppings.
The staff were amazing when handling the order. They changed gloves, used separate tools and there was zero chance of cross contamination.
It was a really nice experience overall! I recommend this location.
Excellent service. They took great care to keep our food safe, even placing our gluten free items in separate bags without asking. They are clearly well educated! (Celiacs)
We grabbed lunch here on our way through, I am celiac and must be careful of cross contamination, every other location takes this very seriously, however, this location clearly did not! I requested the gluten free bread the sub artist changed his gloves but that is all he did not wipe anything down (company standard) he grabbed other items with his gloves while making my sub, set my sub on the counter where they had just finished making subs containing gluten/wheat. Then when I told him that he needs to be more careful as cross contamination is a big deal for some one with celiac/wheat allergies, the responded with “I was just moving your sub it’s fine” in a snarky voice. Horrible service and total disregard for health issues. I do not recommend this location.
Staff changes gloves and ask if it’s a allergy uses a new knife. The bread is pre-packaged from a supplier. If cross contamination really bugs you I would suggest
Gf pre packaged bread
This Subway asks if it is an allergy or preference when ordering their gluten free buns. If you say allergy they immediately take off their gloves, wash their hands, and put on new gloves. They are careful with how the bun is placed on paper, and they use plastic knives. There is always a risk of cross contamination because the ingredients are out where they are used for gluten containing buns regularly but they do a really great job being as careful as they can be. They also don’t touch any gluten containing subs while your gluten free one is being made.
This location is one of the best fast food places to eat in Lloyd if you need a quick sandwich and you can be sure you won’t get sick. They always change gloves, pick out meat cheese etc from the middle of the pack so it hasn’t been handled by contaminated gloves, toast the Sammie separately. I’ve eaten here for years and never gotten sick! There’s a paper taped on the glass where all the gf items are listed. I’d say 3/4 of the menu is gf.
This location has always been really good about celiac. They will remove old gloves, wash their hands, and put on new gloves. They will wipe down surfaces and use clean knives, just make sure you do make it clear that it is celiac/serious allergy. They will get fresh toppings if you ask (with the exception of a few). Also, one worker makes your whole sandwich to minimize cross contact (instead of one worker doing meat and cheese, and another doing veggies). The staff are always friendly, and do their best to accommodate me even during their busy hours.
Subway has pre-packaged gluten free sub buns! Note: they are very crumbly, so I recommend to get them "double toasted". Most of their meat toppings are gluten free, as well as all veggies and most sauces. Staff will take from fresh ingredients in the back fridges if requested. They change their gloves and wash their hands. They seem pretty good at making sure cross contamination doesn't happen, but this can differ from employee to employee. Definitely make sure they are aware it's an allergy. I would not feel comfortable calling in an order, but standing there watching them seems to work fine. đ
They are very careful, they change their gloves to prepare the sandwich.
Went recently and discovered they not only have decent gluten free 6 inch sub bread but their BMT sandwich listed as gluten free too and those are my favorite! BBQ sauce isn't but I used mayo instead and it was just as good. Staff was super patient with me but not knowledgeable, I was looking it up on my phone as I ordered.
The gluten free bread is not amazing but it’s not gross. I appreciate that they have the option. However, the gluten free brownie is SO yummy!! Sometimes they’ll ask if you have an allergy, sometimes they don’t. When they do ask, they clean everything and make sure there’s no cross contamination.
Employee sanitized entire counter/prep area, put on clean gloves before making sub on gluten free bun, brought out fresh containers for each sub topping requested to prevent cross contamination.
Sandwichs préparés avec du pain sans gluten sur demande
Not celiac friendly. They have gluten free options but can't guarantee there is no contamination.
Subway is a go-to for me. I've eaten at subways across the Canada and have had great experiences over all. You still need to be proactive and vigilant but the staff is usually aware that they need to wipe down surfaces, use fresh ingredients, etc.
Great sub! Asked if I had an allergy, changed gloves, made sure it didn’t contact the counter to limit any cross contamination.
DO NOT EAT SUBWAY GLUTEN FREE
Unless they are using fresh and specified toppings it is not safe for celiacs to eat. The topping bins are full of cross contamination from throughout the day.
This Subway location has knowledgable staff and offered completely separate/fresh ingredients for GF subs. When I ordered my GF sub, the employee asked if it was due to CD or an intolerance before I had the chance to even mention it! I said CD, and he washed his hands, changed his gloves and cleaned the separate surface. He then opened up a two fridges where they keep all toppings and sauces separate for GF subs to avoid cross contamination. So far my best experience at a Subway! Would 100% recommend for a safe and fast lunch.
Gluten free six inch subs. You pick the meats and toppings of your choice. They changed theirs gloves for me not questions asked. Double parchment paper to get it toasted. Very nice staff. A modest one dollar up charge for gluten free bread. I’ll take it.
wonderful! bun was frozen but toasted perfectly on its own paper liner. did a nice job keeping clean gloves and also had a gluten free brownie wrapped individually!!
