They have a separate GF menu & they took celiac seriously. Ordered the burger with the GF bun. It was good, but the bun was dry and fell apart (per usual for GF breads), other than the disappointing bun, it was good and I’ll go back!

I’ve eaten here many times over the years. I have celiac and they are always careful and I’ve never been sick. They clean the grill to cook GF food, so if that bothers you keep that in mind.

Was delicious! However it is super pricey, you have to pay extra for gluten free stuff which was shocking to me. Payed 12 bucks per burger 7 for a small side salad and 8 for 4 onion rings (for a friend). I would come here occasionally but definitely not in my price range.

We came in around 9:00 pm and ordered and waited for 40 minutes for our food, went up to check on order and said they were waiting on the fries. A few minutes later an employee came out and asked if it was a preference or an allergy. Few minutes later the manager came out to tell us that they had someone new in the kitchen and they combined all of the food in the fryer so they were remaking our food and it would another 10 minutes and gave us a card for a free entrée for another visit. We then checked our food before leaving and it was not correct. So we had to go back up to the counter and get what was left off of our sandwiches. At this point the manager compted our entire meal.

The cashier was very unhelpful. Supposedly there is a GF bun, but no sides.

Put on gluten free diet 3 months ago and found nearly impossible to get a gluten free bun tat tastes good until today at Grub Burger Bar. possibly the best hamburger I've ever had. Waiter Brendan was very good and helpful as were the bartender and others. If there was any issue, it might be the fact the burger was almost too big to bite but smashing it a little solved that. Will definitely become a regular.

My daughter who has celiacs disease got very sick after eating here. She got a burger on a gluten free bun. The current staff did not seem knowledgeable about gf. They kept getting orders mixed up with other tables too. I believe they did not give her the gf bun.

Such amazing food! They have a gluten free bun that is honestly the best gf bun I’ve ever had! I couldn’t even tell it was gluten free. Passed by on our way back to Baton Rouge and we all want to come back. Couldn’t have any fries because they don’t have a separate fryer. We all agreed that it might have been our best burger ever.

This place is incredible! The gluten free bun was delicious (I got the Jive Turkey burger), and the sweet potato fries are cooked in a separate fryer so they are GF! They are amazing! The worker even brought me their jalapeño ranch to dip the fries in…INCREDIBLE!!! I highly recommend Grub!

This was my first time ordering out for myself after finding out I am (silent) Celiac and cooking from home to make sure there are no issues. I loved that there is a GF menu online and staff in person was very understanding and upfront about making sure everything was safe for me to eat. I'd HIGHLY recommend the Guacapotle burger (without the bun) as it was Delicious and allergen friendly. I'll be back!!

GF options are the burgers or California chicken sandwich on a gf bun or salad. The bacon cheeseburger on a gluten free bun was delicious. The bun was soft and holds together well. Beware…the fries are fried in oils that are mixed with wheat contaminated oil. The allergy menu online states the milkshakes are gluten free, but I didn’t try one.

Watch out - their sweets are currently not gluten free, due to supply chain issues. Manager was very apologetic about the situation. Gluten free bun and they make every effort to make the sandwich as safe as possible but currently cannot guarantee that their sweet potato fries are safe. đ

NOT SAFE FOR CELIACS ANY LONGER! As others have noted, none of their sides are GF and they won’t even tell you that they changed things. The place is run by teens who don’t know or care what gluten is or what precautions should be taken for an allergy. Nothing here is safe and the staff is untrained and uninterested.

Be extra careful with the sweet potato fries! They are “gluten friendly” not “gluten free”. I didn’t listen to the cashier close enough and now I’ve been sick for 3 days. She said they were cooked in separate oil but, apparently something else happened.
Food was delicious but cross contaminated.

The burgers are great! Only the sweet potato fries are gluten-free, the regular ones are not made in a dedicated frier. They have gluten-free buns for burgers as well as sandwich options and salads. Slightly pricy but very good!

Loved taking my celiac daughter there in the past but was sad to discover this weekend that they no longer have a dedicated fryer for any of their sides. :( They used to have sweet potato fries and a dedicated fryer. But they did make brussel sprouts in a clean pan (these are usually fried) for her but she was so disappointed she could have any type of fries there when she previously could.

Beware, they no longer have a dedicated fryer for the sweet potato fries. The manager said that when they get busy they use it for everything. Even after explaining that we wouldn’t be able to eat them and didn’t want the fries any longer, they still brought them out in the same basket as the burgers so we ended up leaving.

UNREAL negligence. They stopped being careful all together. After taking our money knowing our severe allergies the server and manager came over to the table to tell us the fries are no longer safe. Cooked with gluten. Which wasn’t always the case. NO offer to refund our money for the fries. We said we’d just have the burgers. 3 minutes later they came out with fries all over the food I. Every plate that they just took time telling us weren’t safe. Clearly nobody there takes anything seriously. I hope they realize how many GF people there are after this review hits. STEER CLEAR if you are celiac!!

Being celiac it isn’t very often I get to eat a burger and, while it’s something I regularly crave, with most places it’s just not even worth taking the risk. From Grubs online experience, to inside the restaurant, I felt totally confident. They have an allergen specific menu and all the staff were able to instruct confidentially about all allergies, not just celiac - the manger even came and checked in everything with me though all the staff were perfectly helpful and efficient. They have a gluten free dedicated fryer and although they don’t offer regular fries in it, they do amazing sweet potato waffle fries. They didn’t want to make promises, but I took a chance and had literally zero reaction. I also ordered their Front Porch burger with cheese, with a gluten free bun. Usually I skip the bun altogether but for once I thought I’d give it a try and I AM SO GLAD I DID! Literally the best gluten free bun I’ve ever had - soft and squashy, just like a burger bun should be! Admittedly, it’s a long time since I’ve eaten a regular bun, but I was hard pressed to tell the difference! (They tell me they use Ancient Grains gluten free buns). The burger itself was also amazing - tasty and juicy. My husband had a regular burger as he has no gluten issues and he said it was one of the better burgers he’s had and (lucky him!) he gets to eat them a lot! It’s 2 hours later and I have had zero reaction at all. This is not normal for me, even with some of my best restaurant experiences I usually have at least a tiny reaction. Seriously one of the best celiac restaurant experiences I’ve had, and I honestly could almost cry about the fact I have finally found a place I can get a great burger! EAT HERE!!!

Manager checked all of our sauces for gluten on the burgers. I got the bacon lovers burger gluten free bun (they are a little darker in color than the glutenous buns) the secret sauce that comes on it is gluten free we checked all ingredients. Fiancé got the waugu burger. The sauce that comes with it is made with gluten free Worcestershire sauce, no changes to sauce were necessary. The cooks do glove change and clean surfaces for gluten free food prep. Sweet potato fries are made in a dedicated gluten free fryer, they only say ‘gluten friendly’ because they told us there is always a small chance a French fry from the normal fryer can hop into it. But they showed us and it’s a three fryer system - sweet potatoes then to the right is French fries then to the right of that is fried chicken and other fried glutenous items. So even if a fry does get in it seemed like a very very small chance of cross contamination. Still it’s their liability. Seemed reasonably safe to us and other celiac reviewers said fries were good. They were great, neither of us got sick. Cocktails and ciders available too. Fiancé got smoked old fashioned I got an angry orchard. Chive TV playing on bar screens. Sports bar/chipotle feeing atmosphere. Both of us are celiac, neither of us got sick!

I am GF/DF. I ate the California Chicken Sandwich & side salad with balsamic vinaigrette both w/o cheese. The manager on duty, Jessica, was awesome! She heard me ordering, notified the kitchen of my allergies then came to talk with me. She advised me that if sensitive the sweet potato fries are only gluten friendly and recommended the side salad. She then proceeded to prepare all my food herself using fresh ingredients. I fully appreciated her helpfulness.

Wonderful service. This is the first place I looked up on fmgf. We recently realized that my wife was celiac (after years of trying to medicate, visits to the doctor and even hospitalization). She was mourning the loss of bread and burgers and I surprized her with a burger and fries from here. To this day it is still her absolute favorite burger joint. I called the restaurant and told the waitress my situation and that I had no idea what going gluten free entailed and was worried about cross contamination. She walked me through the whole menu on the phone, made recommendations and was basically the sweetest person in the world to someone that had to have come across as a complete idiot. When I picked the burger up she talked to me a bit and shared some of her experiences and even made some helpful suggestions about what foods tended to be gf. Just a wondeful overall experience at this place. It has become and will continue to be a datenight staple at my house.

Gluten free burgers and gluten friendly sweet potato fries. They have a dedicated fryer, but informed me about the possible risk of cross contamination.

Tried to order food for pickup on 5/28/20. They no longer have a dedicated frier. They do have gluten free buns.
Always knowledgeable about which items are gluten free. Went today for pick up and fell in love even more. Their sweet potato fries are made in a dedicated fryer normally. Right now it's broken so when they brought my food out they let me know their gf fryer was down and they boxed my burger in a different box so that I wouldn't get sick. Other restaurants have never done anything like that. I love this restaurant and staff đđ

It's a good gourmet burger place. An operating partner, Laura, was working the register when we arrived. She was very good and patient explaining their menu. She understood Celiac needs and explained their processes and what was safe and what wasn't. She explained what would happen in an "adverse" situation of cross contamination. We ordered. Got our food. It was great. The sweet potato fries were superb. I would definitely recommend this place both as a Celiac and as a non Celiac. Worth the visit.

I tried the Your My Boy Blue Burger with a GF bun and instead of fries I had the brussel sprouts. It was very tasty and best of all I didn’t get sick. Everyone loved their food, including the nonGF people. The online menu allows you to choose what your “allergy” is and will eliminate that item from your choices. It’s very neat.

We were extremely happy with the staffs willingness to help, their knowledge and diligence! After getting bored with the choices we have limited near our home it was very exciting to find a new place and the food was truly phenomenal!! We usually have to go out of state to find GF phenomenal quality meals.
Had the guacapotle burger. It was really good. Messy, had to eat with a fork but that doesn’t bother me. Sweet potato fries were also really good. Dedicated fried only for the sweet potatoe ones though.

Fantastic gluten free lunch today! Staff extremely friendly, and very knowledgeable about gluten allergies, and celiac disease. Their homemade gluten free bun is the best I have ever had! And it held together until the last bite!!! They have a dedicated fryer for sweet potato fries, which are so yummy!!! I will be back!
