Breakfast sandwiches on gluten free bread are pretty good, however the bread is toasted pretty hard. They have a good number of gluten free pastries. Most are stored in the same case which isn't a huge issue for me, however the mini chocolate muffins were displayed side by side and touching each other on an elevated plate with the gluten containing cranberry muffins. See pic! Just why? When I asked the manager he said that Tatte is "gluten friendly", not gluten free because the same kitchen and ovens are used. I get the part about shared kitchen and display case, but the same plate?? Touching?? Exactly what is "friendly" about that?? When I pressed the manager said he has expressed his concern and that other customers have commented the same, but corporate sets the display and this is how they are directed to display the mini muffins according to corporate. đ¤. Sounds like corporate needs to hear from the GF community!

Not safe at all. My friend and I both ordered BLTs (mine gluten-free, her’s not). They came out with a sandwich and my drink. I asked them if it was the gluten-free sandwich and they said yes. I started eating it and I knew it tasted too good to be true. Then a couple minutes later the waitress comes back and says “here’s the gluten-free BLT.” They re-made my sandwich but seriously? She said sorry and walked away with no attempt to make things right. They do not take allergies seriously here.

Great place. Food was very fresh. Lots of GF options including sweet treats. Tatte was recommended by a friend- I’m glad we checked it out. It is very noisy! Our hostess could barely hear us to take our order. If you want something good and don’t need to carry in a conversation definitely stop here!

Came here twice on my trip to Boston! Came for breakfast to grab a breakfast sandwich- my sister and I ordered the same thing but she ordered regular bread, we both really enjoyed it. I always appreciate when servers confirm that it was a gluten free order when handing the food over, so that was reassuring as well. I came back that evening for a gluten friendly brownie and it was delicious (I think it was flourless). It’s also just an adorable place so that’s a bonus!

WARNING - tatte does not take celiac seriously. I ordered a salad and after talking to multiple kitchen staff and the manager, was told they would prepare my food safely. Fast forward to opening the salad at home - there was a piece of bread on top. Not worth going here.

I eat at this Tatte regularly via online ordering for pickup. I emailed with their manager before deciding to try their food. I react to cross contact and gluten exposure with severe vomiting, and this Tatte has never made me react to any of their GF listed meals. However, I do not eat any of the GF baked goods. They tend to be stored in a shared case and I don’t know where they were baked. From what I can tell, Tatte does not do much if any baking on site at this location, which makes me feel fine to order meals cooked in their kitchen. The manager told me they label GF orders as an allergy and have cross contact mitigation precautions to keep utensils separate, change gloves, etc.

Great food! The Lamb Hash is my favorite. Their kitchen can make safe food, but the baked goods are only gluten free friendly because they are not baked in a dedicated kitchen, and are stored in a shared space. I didn't risk it, but I my friends love their Gf baked goods if you are okay with cross contamination.

All of the GF food is safely prepared for celiacs, except for the pastries that are labeled gluten friendly! Those are cross contaminated. The bread is prepared offsite and is safe. I go all the time and have not gotten sick.

menu is clearly marked with what is/can be made gluten free. they are very clear that everything is prepared in the same area so can’t guarantee no cross contact. the gf pastries are in the same cases as the non-gf ones, but they were all bunched together only touching other gf products so i thought it looked safe for me. i got a breakfast sandwich that was very good and a raspberry tea cake- i didn’t have a reaction but im probably lucky because i know some people who have visited here got sick after đ¤ˇđźâ

I order a tea cake (super good) and a standard breakfast plate (eggs, hash brown, gf toast). The breakfast wasn’t good and quite cold with an inedible amount of salt on the cold potatoes. The baked goods look and tastes great and very good espresso. They said that the gluten “friendly” items are made in separate prep spaces. I did have some very mild cross contamination symptoms the next day, but it could’ve been one of the many restaurants I ate at that weekend. I’ll try Tatte again for baked goods

We went here twice while visiting DC. The food was wonderful, they had a dedicated gluten free menu, and while things were only labeled “gluten friendly”, I had no problems with cross contamination. I tried the coffees, entrees, and a dessert and they were all great! All the GF food came out with allergy markers in them. Highly recommend!

I came here twice in one day and a total of 4 times in my short DC trip. They have so many GF dessert options and can make their breakfast sandwiches on GF bread. I got their classic breakfast sandwich and it was so good! I also tried their tea cakes, strawberry and pistachio. Both were lovely! I wasn’t a fan of the chocolate muffin. It tastes like it had raisins or apples in it, something about it didn’t work for me. I didn’t eat it all. I got the chocolate mousse cake. AMAZING!! I had such a hard time deciding because everything looked incredible. There were 6-7 GF options for dessert alone, almost half the case was GF! I will say that some of the GF items were stacked on the same display plates as non-GF items, I chose not to get those items because they were clearly cross contaminated. But I only saw one GF item like that. I have a pretty significant gluten intolerance and had no reaction eating here. I will 100% always come back when in DC. Plus their coffee is really great too. 10/10!
