I love Potbelly's salads! I always get the chicken salad salad. I'm not only celiac but dairy allergy, so I get w/o cheese. They change their gloves too! I've eaten here every weekend for the past yr & never any issues.
Not the best experience for celiac/gluten free folks. They do not offer gluten free bread, but they can put your ingredients in a salad bowl. Seemed like much less food than a typical sandwich, but they still charge you for the full amount :( Will not be going back as a dairy and gluten free customer.
All salads and dressings are gluten free besides croutons. Veggie soup and Sriracha bean are good as well. I was able to add grilled chicken to my veggie soup.
I talked to four employees on the serving line, and nobody knew what gluten-free meant. I should have walked out and eaten somewhere else.
Great refreshing safe salads for someone who has celiac disease not many options but if you need something while your out there you go :)!!!
The tomato soup was excellent. Meat was great & veggies very fresh. Took my own bread. Will definitely go back. Staff very knowledgeable about what I could have.
It’s a sandwich shop, so cross contamination is a possibility, but I have purchased their salads and I have yet to get sick. I have told them about my intolerance and they were receptive to changing gloves and doing what they could to avoid cross contamination.
Edit: The salads are pre-made (the leafy part) and as I was mixing up the salad I just bought, I found two GIANT chunks of bread at the bottom of my salad. THANK GOD I hadn’t eaten more than a few bites.
I love their garden vegetable soup which is GF. Also, their shakes and salads (minus cookie and croutons) are GF. However, they don’t offer any bread so could be way more accommodating.
Separate gluten free menu online. Extensive salad offerings with proteins that can be added.
Any sandwich you can get on a salad base and it’s delicious!
