They used to have a pretty decent gluten free menu but they got rid of it during the pandemic.

I’m so disappointed. Told waiter about my intolerance to gluten and dairy and I asked if there was a gf menu. No. He said he would help me with the options I have… I studied the menu for what would be my “safest” option. Carne asada tacos. A bit pricey but at least it would be safe (or so I thought). He didn’t help me at all. My tacos come on flour tortillas!!! I got his attention after several minutes and asked for corn tortillas- they don’t have them. What really? He offered to bring me something else but my daughter was already enjoying her steak so I said I’ll just eat the meat …. Definitely not a place for celiacs!!

I’ve eaten here several times and it can be done safely but takes some self-advocating.
The options are somewhat limited, but they do have gf buns for the burgers, which are delicious.
The servers are not always the most knowledgeable (I’ve gotten conflicting information about whether or not they use a shared frier - after speaking to the manager, they do so know that fries are not safe, no matter what the server may tell you.)
I was once brought out a burger with a non-GF bun but the server had mixed up my meal with someone else’s.
Overall you can eat safely but definitely takes some awareness. Ask many questions and talk to the manager if in doubt.

I eat here a lot however I always get the same gluten free item (salmon with red onion jam (no sauce) quinoa & brocolli). But that’s just because I’ve eaten a different gf item at the Phoenixville location and was sick that night.

I don’t know what the other reviews are talking about. This place is not GF-friendly. No dedicated GF menu, no GF beer, and no dedicated fryer or food preparation.

Went here this week. Avoid it. It was super disappointing. I used to seek out iron hill because they were one of the few places in early 2010s that offered a gf menu. Well now they don't have a gf menu and staff wasn't clear on what I could have. Originally they said two menu items were gluten free plus the sweet potato fries. So I ordered the fries only for them to later come tell me it's a shared fryer. I appreciate them checking with me. Staff was nice. It's just a shame the restaurant has taken several steps backward as far as special diet accommodations.

Had the pan seared scallops with basmati rice. Delicious. No GF menu but wait staff knowledgeable and asked chef about dishes. They offer gf buns for burgers and cauliflower crusts for pizza.

I stopped due to the high reviews, but they did not offer a GF menus like some stated. The waitress was happy to walk me over options and told me to stick to protein or veggies to avoid cross contamination, as it is a brewery. I was able to get flank steak and asparagus! I did not end up sick and I am a sensitive Celiac so that's a win for me!

Save your time. Going out to dinner should not be this labor intensive. We felt very unwelcome once we announced we had a gluten allergy at the table. Wait staff all but ignored us.

No GF menu as earlier reviews indicated which was a bit disappointing and no dedicated GF fryer. The waitress didn’t seem very knowledgeable about GF menu options but was kind enough to check with the chef and she gave me one or two options from the menu that they could do (a steak with spinach and no fries or salmon with quinoa). I ended up with the salmon which was tasty, but was a little disappointed there weren’t many options.

They must have changed things up because there is no gluten free menu, and no indication of what can be made gluten free. The waitress was knowledgeable about what is gluten free or not and confident they could accommodate me and that they take allergies serious to avoid cross contamination. I got a salad because I felt it was my safest option. The waitress was unsure if the dressing was gluten free but said she’d ask, and it came with no dressing.. which makes me feel there was good communication about my allergy to the kitchen staff. I just wish things were marked as gluten free so it was easier to decide on a menu item. However, the food was delicious and I did not get sick so I will definitely come back!

Gluten free menu. Knowledgeable staff. I have safely eaten here many times and am very sensitive
Yes
Menu is not marked and waiter did not know off hand what could be done aside from they had GF buns but said he would talk with his head chef about what I wanted. When he came back to take order and I asked for Left Coast Burger and asked about fries, he already talked to chef and they cannot fry but would bake instead. Swapped bun and skipped cheese and IPA ranch. Did not suffer any symptoms after. Dined 6/21.

I gotta say I’m a little disappointed in this place. It recently opened up where I live. I went there with my family and sad to see there was hardly anything I could eat. There is no gf menu - the waitress said that they are “gluten friendly” but that there is cross contamination in the kitchen and everything is fried in the same fryer including the tortilla chips. There are no appetizers that are gluten free. There are 3 salads that are gluten free and they do offer gluten free buns so a hamburger is an option but they come with French fries that are cross contaminated. Your other options for sides are steamed vegetables or a side salad but some of the dressings have beer in them. There is a steak that might be GF but it comes with sweet potato fries which are cross contaminated. I ordered a sandwich with a GF bun and substituted a side salad for the French fries. When my meal was brought out, there were croutons on the salad which I asked them to replace with a new salad. I also found remnants of French fries stuck to the bottom of my sandwich, which made me think they originally put French fries on my plate, then realized I didn’t want them and just picked them off of the plate. The rest of my family did enjoy this place but I definitely would not recommend it to anyone that is GF.

I must say I am extremely disappointed with Iron Hill. I am a long time patron of Iron Hill. Great food, very knowledgeable about gluten free and cross contamination. But I ordered from there last week and it was a total rip off. They got rid of the gluten free menu because of covid and the need to downsize, but they were still willing to accommodate our orders of gf burgers with gf buns. It wasn't until we looked at the bill and spoke with the manager that we realized that we were upcharged for the gf substitutions more than normal. We couldn't have the fries so they charged an extra $3 for the small side salad that comes with the burger. Eating gluten free for me is not a choice, it's a necessity and I feel taken advantage of when restaurants try to charge a ridiculous amount of money for these easy and cheap substitutions. Let's just say they have lost my business, which is a real shame.

Went to eat and from the time I called to reserve a table until finish, EVERY person I talked to was immediately and completely knowledgeable about gluten allergies and sensitivities. I was so impressed with their knowledge. They didn’t even need to go ask someone, they all just knew. The one guy even took their menu and had the chef himself highlight all the safe items and cross out which I couldn’t have. If I had extra questions though, the waiter knew automatically. I felt very safe eating there. No reactions so far. Food was really good as well. They do not have a dedicated fryer so the options aren’t plentiful for those with very sensitive celiac.

They dont actually have a gluten free menu. Sure there are a couple of items like a salad, one of the steak options, etc. Avoid if celiac.
Good food and many GF options. I have never gotten sick.

Got glutened from the turkey burger. The manager had nothing to say other than “we’re gluten friendly not gluten free.”
No
Ordered the turkey burger with a GF bun and got glutened. Despite them having a seperate GF menu and me telling them how severe my allergy was, it did not end well for me.
No
I specified that I was ordering from the gf menu but my salad came out with croutons. They remade it and i had no reaction to my meal, but they did not inspire confidence. Redbridge beer available in bottles.
Ordered from the gluten free menu and got sick. They are not careful about cross contamination. Go somewhere else.

Never had an issue. Good amount of choices.

I always ask for manager. We go at least 1x week. Always have steak steam broccoli. Never ever had a problem.

Compared to the actual menu there’s not a TON to choose from but still a really good selection none the less. I had a turkey burger with a GF bun which came with a salad. No separate fryers was a bummer. I recommend the chicken with potatoes too, it’s to die for!
Yes
The waiter was very helpful with gluten free. They have a separate gluten free menu as well as 2 gluten free beers and other alcohol that is gluten free. I got the Santa Fe turkey burger with a gluten free bun and it was delicious! Very impressed!
Yes
They do offer GF buns for replacement on sandwiches, however my first sandwich was on an obviously gluten filled ciabatta and when they replaced it they only took the chicken off of that sandwich (btw, if I was celiac that would have been a huge problem) and the put it on a sandwich that had a GF top & a pretzel bottom. To make matters worse, the Turkey burger a friend ordered arrived pink. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone who is celiac. Even if they do get your order right, the cross-contamination would be a worry.
Came here for dinner with a friend and asked for a gf menu, which had some great selections. Went with the hot roast beef sandwich, which had great flavor! We sat at the bar, and the place was super busy but the bartender was great at answering questions, making sure the kitchen knew about both my gluten and dairy allergies, and checking in on us to be sure everything came out as ordered. I believe that they carry a couple of gf ciders? But I drank wine so don't quote me on that! Would definitely go back.

Staff was well trained! Separate menu, and lots of choices!!!!
Very knowledgeable, good options. Wish they had a few more things but the naked burger salad (no matchsticks) is top notch!

There is a decent separate GF menu, but their process needs improvement. My wife ordered a steak entree off that menu and specified that she was gluten-free. However, when it was brought to the table, it included the deep-fried onion ring garnish from the regular-menu version. They did make a new plate without question, but we had to bring it to their attention. The manager comped that part of the meal but when he stopped by to see how the replacement was, he acted like he was just checking on us and wasn’t apologetic until we pointed out the error — at which point he said he had come over because of that.
Great gluten free menu. Second one I’ve eaten at and food was safe both times. Hot roast beef sandwich of GF bun with salad. Highly recommend! Other location was Newark, DE
