Used to go here or get take out almost once a month for years but the last two years, this place has been going downhill. Even got contaminated once because the waitress put my mother in law's plate on top of mine and carried it like that. I got take out recently to give another chance and the honey mustard tenders had a chemically smell and the tater tots were mush. No thank you
If you have Celiac and need GF options do not trust their menu and absolutely do not order the seared salmon right now that is LABELED GF. They don’t even have the gf orzo to make it. I have celiac and made sure to specify that I have a gluten allergy and ordered the seared salmon. They must have just changed the menu because over the summer/fall they had a seared salmon with creamed corn and potatoes. That’s what I wanted! Unfortunately they changed the meal but used the same name so I didn’t realize until I got my order. When I saw it I knew it wasn’t what I ordered and didn’t think it was GF so I didn’t touch it. I double checked the menu to make sure what I ordered was GF and it in fact was supposed to be GF. When I went to talk to employees about it they said that the orzo that the salmon was on was NOT gluten free and that they don’t even have GF orzo yet. They wouldn’t be getting it in til next week yet they were advertising this dish as being GF. I asked for a refund and went home to eat… it was such a disappointment. I’ve spent so much money eating there since it’s one of the only local places that has GF options that are safe from cross contact and I can’t believe they almost just poisoned me. The scariest part is the only reason I even questioned it was because I thought I ordered a different seared salmon- if I knew the menu was changed and ordered the seared salmon on orzo labeled GF I would have ate it and I wouldn’t have known until it was too late and I would have been sick for weeks…. Please beware if you have celiac… I really hope they take this more seriously in the future but I’m not sure if I’ll ever feel comfortable going back there.
Definitely a shift in quality and portion size. It's unfortunate, because I used to really enjoy eating here.
I ordered a pumpkin cider because it was on special for October. Unfortunately for me she brought a pumpkin BEER! Which was realized after I took a large swig of. The waitress seemed to be sympathetic but that was a huge error. I canceled my food order and my spouse decided to get his to go. Since I was going to get sick 100%.
The waitress explained the situation to the manager, Gabby, and Gabby went over and beyond to try to rectify this error. Even though my burger order was canceled she made it and sent me home with it. In addition she sent me home with chicken tensor because she was worried my burger would not reheat well. She provided me with a couple of ginger ales to help settle my stomach too.
On top of that she then comped the entire bill. Customer service was fantastic. The chicken tendors were pretty amazing.
I would try them again but probably all for someone that is uncertain of my sickness.
Good burgers, dedicated fryer for fries, and an Udi’s bun!
I was here for a week, traveling for work. This is really the only celiac-safe option in walking distance of the office / my hotel. And I was very thankful for it! Ate here several times and didn’t get sick! Service wasn’t really that well informed on gluten so be sure to indicate that they need to let the kitchen know you have celiac.
Another review here mentioned the buffalo cauliflower and that they got sick.. that would likely be because it’s not GF as it’s breaded. There are definitely not any GF breaded items here (current menu is clearly marked). Also, Stick to build your own burgers, most of the specialty burgers and sandwiches are NOT GF unless modified due to other sauces and toppings and CC. I would recommend keeping it simple if you’re celiac.
Such a fun experience to be able to eat chicken tenders again! Food was really good, and we both felt great afterwards.
Sooooooo good! So many GF options and delicious!!! My waitress had celiacs too so she was super helpful! I had lobster corn fritters (a seasonal special) and fish & chips for the first time since being GF, so good, even though it seemed wrong having that at a burger joint š¤£. Top review marks!
As someone with Celiac Disease, I was pleasantly surprised by what Plan B Burger Bar had to offer! Almost the entire menu can be made gluten free. They have dedicated fryers for gluten AND dairy sensitivities. My father, who does not have any food allergies gave the food a 5 star review as well. Our waiter Tom was one of the best and most knowledgeable servers I’ve ever had. I felt 100% comfortable eating here. I was in the area all the way from Long Island and would 100% consider eating here again!
OMG! I’m traveling. Been starving. Really tired of eating nuts, getting cross contaminated and can’t really skip any more meals. Cracked open FMGF app and went on a mission reading reviews. I was the first customer in the door when they opened. They didn’t flinch. Burger was amazing, fries were delish. Woot woot!
BEWARE!! They changed their menu and some of the dishes that were gluten free, are not anymore. So double check what you are getting before you eat!
Consistently a safe choice and good food. Most of their menu is gluten free and they have dedicated dryers. Fried chicken, pickles, calamari and great tots. The burgers are pretty decent - not the juiciest or well-seasoned. The staff are all very knowledgeable about celiac and are very friendly.
One word of caution - the bartenders can get beer on hands when pulling from the tap. I ask if they can wash hands before making me a drink.
GF items are marked in the menu and looks like they have a decent understanding and protocols. But - our kids meal arrived with a regular bun šØ luckily we noticed after one bite but what’s the use of having good GF options if eventually you get wrong order. The items are not flagged when served like other places and it’s very problematic. If you go there - double and triple check what you got before taking a bite
This restaurant came highly recommended by locals and we were greatly disappointed. Ordered fish and chips takeout. First, menu says it comes with coleslaw and tarter sauce. We received neither. Called them to ask about it and first we were told they were out, then told it no longer comes with it. Second, the fries tasted days old; hard and chewy. Third, the fish was only fair. Let’s hope it was gf.
This was my favorite place, but the last two times my Nima Gluten Sensor found gluten. I have celiac and get very ill even with cross contact. I’m also intolerant to garlic and onion, sadly. I’m always sure to tell the server that I have celiac and that cross contact is an issue. I would usually get a burger on a gluten free bun with cheddar cheese & avocado with either fancy fries (fries with salt) or the tater tots. I ask them to cook my burger in a separate pan as an added precaution. The bartender/server was great and took the issue seriously. I’m sad that this won’t be my go-to place, at least for a while.
ALERT ALERT This place is NOT safe to order from online. Super sad bc I used to love to treat myself here. Second time this year they messed up the online order- today they put a piece of bread on top of the salad. The manager told me that WE need to indicate in the order that it is a gluten allergy, even though that ISN'T an option on the DD platform. He also referred to it was an "inconvenience" when I called to see if it was gf bread.
This place has been fantastic at ensuring that everything I eat is gluten free. I've dined there numerous times since my diagnosis and they haven't made me sick. One of their waitresses has celiac and additionally all of the stuff that goes into the fryer is battered with rice flour, therefore making everything gluten free. Overall, they do an amazing job and the food is DELICIOUS!
