Ask for the allergen menu - they report gluten, dairy, and other common allergens. Their wings (amazing) are normally flash fried in a gluten contaminated fryer but you can ask them to be baked (makes them GF) but it requires an extra 20-30 min wait, so put the order in early!! Their nachos are unfortunately fried with other things but you can ask to have it on a bed of lettuce instead! I had no problems eating here with good communication with the server. Highly recommend trying their brisket!
I enjoyed my dinner at Home Team! The waitress knew exactly what might be cross contaminated, advised on what I could eat, and assured me she would alert the chef. They do have an allergen menu. I had the pulled pork, cole slaw and baked beans. All the sauces are gf (confirm for yourself though). No reaction, so good!
They have an allergy menu that basically flags every food with any concern items. It also points out that they don't have a dedicated fryer. Armed with that information I put together a delicious meal and had no symptoms at all (except for being over-stuffed). Only one cider when we were there today but it was very nice.
Told them gf and no bread, still brought bread. And put it directly under the half chicken. They took it back and I told them I needed a new piece of chicken. They didn’t know I marked the chicken and they brought the same exact piece back lol told the waitress she can have it and left. 2nd time in a row!!!
The bartender was very knowledgeable about what is gluten free/celiac safe. All of the sauces are GF and any of the meat choices. They do have a shared fryer; he let me know the only non-gluten free item fried is the kids chicken fingers which are ordered pretty rarely so if you are not super sensitive the nachos are great. I did not get sick from them and they were probably the best nachos I’ve ever had.
We eat her all of the time. Just make sure to say gluten allergy when ordering (I know, not an allergy). The wings are fried prior to serving. If you have gluten issues, they will bake them to heat them up instead. I usually get the quarter chicken with collards and slaw or tomato cucumber salad. The food is always delicious and the Alabama white sauce puts it all over the top! They're very knowledgeable about gluten. Just inform the server and ask that the kitchen be notified.
I don’t know why “dedicated fryer” is listed here. I spoke to the one of the servers who said they don’t use a dedicated fryer and that the chips and wings are fried in the same fryer as the breaded fried items.
Non-gf people in your group will love this place. Pre-Celiac it was always a favorite of mine, but now I only get a simple salad if I go.
Have eaten here many times. Chef and staff always helpful. The meats, sauces and many of sides are gluten free. Just make sure to tell them no bread when you chose the meat entrees.
Amazing service and food! I called ahead asking about GF options and when we got there our server was the one I had talked to. He had already informed the kitchen someone with celiac was coming and was miso knowledge about the menu! The food was also wonderful. Will definitely go back!
We had dinner at Home Team this week. Dylan was our server and was very knowledgeable- we needed gluten free options and he helped us figure out what was available, went and asked if he wasn’t sure and made great recommendations! Most of the menu is gluten free! We had the chopped brisket sandwich and the ribs/brisket combo. Lots of food and it was delicious! We loved the sauce options and tried them all to mix our favorite. I took Dylan’s recommendation on a side and he was right-get the Brunswick Stew!We will definitely be back!
Excellent BBQ with excellent sides. We had a dozen wings to split to start, and then had various meat platters - all are GF - pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, etc. Phenomenal. I had Brunswickstew, Collard Greens and Slaw. So good. Fries also great and in a dedicated frier. Lively scene with good music. Lots of families, singles, etc. Great beach vibe. They totally messed up our order at first, but they diligently worked it out and with good humor. Manager came over and made sure we were happy. We have two celiacs in our family and neither of us had any GI issues following the meal. Left a nice tip and was happy to do so.
I go here all the time and all of their sauces are GF-only things to stay away from are the obvious!
