Burger King isn’t GF in the uk and we heard McDonald’s had options here so we thought we’d try Burger King. My partner was disappointed probably because she had high expectations with fast food being such a big thing but it went in the bin but it’s great they give you the option
Order at the till for gluten free and as a very symptomatic coeliac I've never had any problems and it's my post holiday treat on the way home. The food collection service is chaotic and the restaurant is absolutely filthy no matter what time of day you are at the airport
Has three GF burger options and dedicated GF fries. Not sure about safety, but was not glutened
has nothing gluten free
Fully separate gluten free menu on the machines, coeliac child loved being able to have the full value out of fast food for once! Main thing to watch is that they don’t separate food on the trays for GF and other food, so hyper-sensitive people may need to place a separate order.
They take care to prepare new fries in dedicated frier. GF Whopper and GF cheeseburger also available
It’s complicated. They have a very clear gluten free menu and separate fryer. They even have gluten free kids meals!
However… they didn’t give us the gluten free half of our meal and when we followed up they said they were out of gf buns. We asked to just get the burger without the bun then. They said sure the. Delivered us two gluten buns with cheese. We then asked again to just have a burger without the bun. They took back the gluten buns and gave us a burger without a bun (finally) but I saw that they didn’t put on gloves or wash their hands.
TLDR: good gf options but not reliable.
Gf options are listed on the menu but they had none. Not sure if they ran out for the day, or if this is an ongoing thing, as the previous review said they did not have any as well. Disappointing as there are not other gf options in the airport, unless you cobble together snacks of course
Yes! You can eat gluten-free in most Burger King restaurants in Spain, and definitely at their Madrid airport location. I have celiac disease and ate twice recently at the Madrid BK without getting sick. For some reason, they’ve hidden their GF menu items under the Salads tab on the ordering kiosk, even though several of their GF offerings are burgers and burger/fry combos. I had my first Whopper in over two decades last week. Was it great? No. But it was safe and I was famished after a long flight.
I mean nothing great but it’s nice to come off a flight when you’re hungry and have an option for food. I just had a standard cheese burger and it was okay.
Very messy and run down in that Burger King though staff weren’t that nice and weren’t willing to help so had to figure things out for yourself.
I came here as I know McDonalds and Burger King offer gluten free burgers in Spain and wanted to somewhere quick to eat as we was in a hurry.
We ordered two meals from the gluten free menu both beef burgers. After 15 minute wait which was long considering it’s ’fast food’ they served us our food. To my surprise, we received two burgers and two boxes of salad. My boyfriend opened the box and saw it was salad so I took the food back to the counter and asked for fries. The lady served me informed they would not be gluten free due to a shared fryer, so I said I didn’t want them and that I would prefer a refund. During this process, I talked to I think 3 or 4 different people about receiving a refund. They all repeated the same thing that the chips weren’t gluten free so they gave me salad instead but at the point of ordering I believed I was getting chips. If I knew the burger came with salad I would have gone elsewhere but they didn’t understand my point that I was mis-sold the meal. All in this refund took about another 10-15 minutes to get sorted when we was in a rush to begin with. Avoid!
Gluten free cheeseburger in Arrecife airport. Delicious!
Dissapointing experience, couldnt find the GF burger options on the screens, and as the other reviews stated I tried to order from the counter. Took them 20 minutes to acknowledge me, and then got told «oh the glutenfree burgers are listed under salad on the screens». So be aware of that. Very crowded and busy, would try the BK near gate D instead
I had a whopper here. On the pictures you can see what the options were. On the self ordering machine it was really clear which things where gluten free. While we where waiting for the burger I could see in the kitchen. The gluten-free bun came out of a plastic secured bag. Al the ingredients came out of a closed box and not the open boxes where the other people got there ingredients from. I felt really safe eating here and it was delicious!
Ate a gluten free burger here
Burger King across lanzarote provides 3 gluten free burgers. All of which taste very nice. Only downsides are the time it opens (10am), which may prove inconvenient when flying. I had to ask at the till for gluten free as there were no options on touchscreen menu, however they served me seperately to the rest of queue. Will write another review in a couple of hours to find out whether I was cross contaminated or not.
After being let down by VIP Smart, we decided to try our first Burger King in Tenerife. I was able to order through the self serve screens - there is a dedicated gluten free category. They offer gluten free hamburger, cheeseburger and whoppers. The fries are also cooked separately and are available under the gluten free category. A lovely treat to have and would definitely go back!
You can order a whopper, a double whopper or a regular hamburger gluten free. They are aware of cross contamination and clean the surfaces before preparing the burger.
They dont add vegetables to theburget though which was a disappointment.
They also have a dedicated fryer.
Pretty much the only option I found at the airport that also had awareness!!
Usually Burger King isn’t the place to be for a coeliac but to my surprise, here in Spain they offer a small gluten free (san gluten) menu. I ordered a gf cheeseburger meal with gf fries and a drink. I previously researched that the burgers are assembled separately in the kitchen and I’ve watched them take out fries from a dedicated fryer. They also gave me my food on a separate tray to everyone else. First time I’ve had Burger King burger in years! Ive ate here about 4 times already during my holiday and have experienced no symptoms. Pleasant surprise!!
I ate before my flight yesterday and was so anxious but actually turned out okay. I wouldn’t recommend for coeliacs however as I only found out the chips I ordered went safe from google. I ate a plain hamburger instead after triple checking and they are ‘FACE’ certified. They also have 3 gluten free options on the menu and it came out with a little sticker saying it’s safe
I can’t believe Burger King is one of my favorite things about Spain. The gf whopper is the not the best burger you’ll ever have but it scratches an itch on a whopper can scratch. You can have a really good burger, fast and affordable. Go to the top floor! It looks out over the ocean and is almost always quiet and peaceful. Crazy how nice BK is here. Wifi doesn’t want to work but I can’t complain.
