Probably okay for ice cream, but not for eating.
I was cautiously optimistic, having read that other locations had GF items noted on the menu, but that wasn’t the case here; there isn’t a GF menu nor (to her credit) would the waitress try to guess what might work. The regular fries looked okay, but the waffle fries were battered. Another issue is that the menu overall doesn’t seem to be as large as at other locations.
In retrospect, the salads looked okay, but nearly everything else was fried and either breaded or on actual bread.

Do not visit this location! When I asked the waitress about a gluten free/gluten sensitive menu she looked at me as if I had 2 heads! She mumbled something about “that” allergy paper we don’t have anymore. Like really!? Very disgusted with Friendly’s and I now realize that “Friendly’s” IS NOT GLUTEN FRIENDLY!!!!

Not sure what to expect however their menu lists what is gluten free. When I told the waitress I had an allergy she specifically when into the kitchen to check on a particular product. When I asked about gluten with dessert she gave me the book they have on hand listing any potential allergies with all the food items they sell. I was impressed and appreciative she took my allergy so seriously. I would go back again with the kids.

The staff is kind but not capable of safely serving gluten free food. This location is severely understaffed, and the employees I’ve been served by aren’t aware/trained to help those with allergies.
I feel bad leaving a low review, because the staff that is present are working their butts off and barely holding it together for a minimum wage paying chain. But I can’t trust them to serve gf…

They do not have gluten free options and cannot easily make alterations to make things gluten free. The server and staff on when I went with family seemed uncertain. The only option they felt comfortable giving was a very bare salad. They werent even sure about the dressings so I did not feel safe trying anything.

Just a few gluten free options like salads.
Dedicated gluten-free menu. Lots of choices including entrees. Nice surprise.
Chain. Grilled chicken corn, applesauce & broccoli -- GF&DF. No DF dessert options, though
For the Friendly's on Rte 31 near Great Northern/Rte 481: While not a gluten-free menu, our waitress this morning for brunch was very responsive to my concerns, and the manager assured me of the protocols they had in place for the grill. I had the veggie omelette without toast or potatoes and was able to replace missing items with applesauce without question. Lovely omelette, lovely service! I will be back!
Nothing on the menu besides ice cream and the omelets on the breakfast menu are gluten-free. It was after 11 am, so they wouldn't make me an omelet for lunch. Terrible!!!
No
I have had the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad with grilled chicken many times and haven't had any problems.
