Did not get sick and had fantastic enchiladas
Our daughter has celiac and we have never had a problem eating here. Fresh, healthy food and good at GF!
Great, healthy food! Definitely try the sweet potato fries! Never had a reaction and have been quite often. Thank you Flower Child!
edit - Ordered pickup on the app and selected "sub gluten free pita" on the wrap and was totally given a gluten wrap. Hopefully it was a one time mistake because usually this place is great! Just annoying that it was a $2.50 upcharge for food I can't eat
can’t believe i haven’t written a review for them yet, but this is the only flower child i feel 100% safe at (although all them are really safe). all of the staff are so friendly and will ALWAYS mark allergies and things are clearly marked. they can also make modifications wherever needed. i’ve never gotten glutened ever and this location specifically i trust so much
This place is super cute! Bright, open garden vibes and SO many delicious and clearly marked options for gluten-free (GF), vegetarian, and vegan diets - but just delicious healthy food in general. Plus, the employees really seem to enjoy working here, which is such a rarity these days.
I was pleasantly surprised with how many options that were able to be made gf. Speaking with the staff, they went above and beyond to explain how they would keep me safe and the fooddd options that were available to me.
The environment is darling! It is definitely a cute place for a weekend dine-in or date option.
This place is awesome!! They make all the gluten free food at a separate station and change their gloves and all that. The girl who took my order put celiac disease and allergy on my receipt and I saw her personal tell the chef that I had a gluten/dairy allergy. Also “celiac” was written on my takeout container. I felt super safe and am definitely going to go back!!
Large gluten free menu and the person taking our order knew right away when we said our son was Celiac. He made a note and said that they will use new gloves and space, our son is only three and shares our food so he added the note to all our meals.
I am also lactose free and there are lots of menu items that fit both which is amazing.
I wish that I could pick this restaurant up and plop it down in my city! Stumbled upon it through a delivery app while traveling for work and was pleasantly surprised to see items labeled specifically as GF. They also have lots of GF desserts! The lemon olive oil cake is easily the best baked good I’ve had since cutting gluten, and it wasn’t mini 😉. Everything was delicious and I didn’t have any issues with reactions afterwards.
FYI—the roasted broccoli is made with bread crumbs, but you can order without! (Also—if you’re ordering delivery, you won’t be able to customize the sides you choose for a chicken/steak/etc. plate entree. I ended up ordering the chicken and broccoli a la carte because it allowed me to customize and remove the breadcrumbs).
TL,DR: Don’t miss this one!
I love this place! There are so many healthy and delicious options!
Flower child has many locations nationwide. They offer a wide variety of gluten free options and are very careful of cross contamination. They have GLUTEN FREE MAC N CHEESE. That is to die for. More than half their menu is gluten free and I never have issues after eating here. Can’t wait to come here more in the future!
I gave it a 4 star based on safety, because they take gluten seriously and there’s a lot of options. If I were rating based on flavor, I’d give it a 3. I got the salmon with 2 sides: GF mac n cheese and the shishido peppers. My mac was mush and flavorless and it was in desperate need of salt. The salmon was overcooked and completely plain and dry. My husband ordered the GF sweet potato fries and they came with a wonderful house made yogurt sauce (sort of like a ranch) that I used to flavor the salmon and that helped immensely. His steak was cooked nicely and the sweet potato fries were good, but again, his mac was blah. His GF chocolate chip cookie was large but hard as a rock. Great vibe, friendly people, and wide fresh variety so I’ll give them another chance!
The experience has been positive every time we have dined here. There are many gluten free options, the staff are very knowledgeable and patient with all questions that we must ask. Food handling seems safe, especially since there is a limited amount of gluten-containing items on the menu which limits the risk for cross contamination. We have eaten here several times and my daughter always feels great afterwards.
Had gf options on the menu but server was not aware of cross contact or knew what was in the chicken marinade for example. Ended up just getting regular entree chicken with brown rice and side kale salad without the breadcrumbs. I think the parmesion cheese on it must have gotten some of the breadcrumbs in it on the line when they are making it because I got sick shortly after
I think I got glutened here. I had the chicken enchilada bowl. So disappointing because one of the workers was really enthusiastic about it being safe to eat there as a celiac. Maybe it was a fluke thing or something unrelated… hard to tell! I would probably try it one more time, and not get the chicken enchiladas. If I do, I will come back and edit my review !
This was my 1st time here. The person taking my order was very knowledgeable about celiac. They have a really big GF menu. He said they can also make several other meals GF. I got the chicken enchiladas. They were delicious. He recommended next time I try the GF Mac and cheese. After read the reviews, I wish I had seen the chocolate chip cookie. I would have loved to try that.
Other non food related info:
I went on a Sunday night, the place was pretty empty. They will also validate your parking for 2 hours (which is real nice if you want to walk around the mall). The restaurant itself was really comfortable. The outdoor patio was wonderful.
My absolute favorite restaurant! Amazing HEALTHY foods, clearly labeled with gluten free options! The Flying Avocado is exceptional and can be prepared with a gluten free wrapper. Chocolate chip/ coconut/ cashew cookies are unbelievable! I have never had a problem at this establishment.
They know how to do gluten free as most items can be or are gf. They have specific gf items like GF mac and cheese which is yummy and dedicated fryer. I had the chicken enchilada gf so corn wrap and it was delicious! Everyone else was not gf and lived their food too Celiac and had no symptoms day later.
