The girl taking the order sounded like she had jist woken up from a nap, telling her our order was more than painful. She was not paying attention at all. Even after having her read back the order and stating multiple times a gluten allergy we still had a bad outcome. Definitely wont be trying this again.

They have gluten free buns. But everything is cross contaminated. And they don’t have designated gf fryer. We ended up leaving because they didn’t reassure us that they would try, at all , to make sure the gf bun wasn’t contaminated. Definitely won’t be back

I love their safety protocols in place. The food is always good but limited options. It’s nice though ti have someplace to relax and have a meal.

I have eaten here multiple time and have not gotten sick. I always choose broccoli as my side since there is not a dedicated frier, but the burgers and gf buns are great.

Staff was knowledgeable. Gluten free options were labeled on the menu and had gluten free buns available for hamburgers. Would have liked a dedicated fryer so I could have French fries

Terrific GF burger buns. Many options for GF dining. Excellent waitstaff knowledgeable about Celiac. Side dishes clearly marked if GF. Great choice if you want dinner after visiting local attractions, including the Henry Ford, Greenfield Village, the Rouge plant, and the Fairlane Estate.

Gluten free items are clearly marked in their regular menu. They have several to choose from. I had the gluten free salmon salad and brought my own dressing. Server noted it well on the order and food was great.

I always loved Ford’s Garage before my diagnosis, but this was the first time I’ve been there since. I didn’t ask for the gluten free menu as I had already previewed GF items on the website. However, the main menu does indicate a GF menu is available. I let our server know I have a “Gluten Allergy” as I verified the ChickenCobb Salad Is Gluten Free. She said she would flag my order so that the kitchen would know to be extra cautious and double check all ingredients. My food was brought out by itself. I was a bit confused, but the person who delivered it said, “we take your allergy very seriously. Making sure your food is safe is top priority for us. It has to be reviewed by a manager before being sent and has to be served separate from the rest of the order by a manager.” Wow! Color me impressed!! I’ll definitely be back!!

This place already has a lot of positive reviews, and now we see why! Kitchen is extremely careful in preparing gluten-free. A chef brought the gf food out separately and talked to us about how they take care in making they’re gluten-free orders. Everything tasted great! They do not have a separate fryer so no GF fries. Fun atmosphere! Great experience.

UPDATE- my last review was 2 years ago and we went back again today and I really wanted to let you know they have stepped up their GF game! Menu has more GF items marked, my burger had a gf flag and they were more knowledgeable and attentive to my allergies. Good job Fords Garage! ORIGINAL REVIEW- They have a gluten free menu!!! I’m GF and DF so I was further limited but our server was knowledgeable and accommodating. I had the grilled chicken Cobb salad and it was excellent! Such a cute Resturaunt with so much fun stuff to look at!

Knowledgeable enough about celiac, too feel that will not get gluten-free, delicious burgers, gluten-free buns, gluten-free dinners available also, no gluten-free beer but seltzer and ciders, along with wine
Yes
Went during covid for an early dinner. Out of 2 of the 5 gf sides (beans and broccoli). No dedicated fryer, but burger was yummy even without a side of fries. Server was really nice but still messed up 2 out of 3 meals and we were only 1 of 5 tables in the entire place and not all were her tables. Good in a pinch.

Amazing food! I had the cheeseburger, coleslaw and mashed potatoes, all delicious. The staff takes allergies seriously and it was great to feel at ease knowing my meal was safe. Definitely would eat here again!
First time customer. I was thoroughly impressed. The manager came out to bring my side salad and explained that anything marked as a food allergy is double plated and is brought out separately by a manager and is kept separate from the rest of the tables order. I ordered a black n bleu burger with turkey instead of beef. It came on an udis bun. And I got the cheddar mashed potato side. I will definitely be returning

I highly recommend the Chicken Henry. It is excellent. Moist chicken with and amazing gf sauce.
Yes
Burger was to die for! And they had gluten free buns! Fries unfortunately weren't gluten free. But the mashed potatoes were super tasty. Can't wait to come back!
Yes
Great atmosphere of a 1930’s filling station! I had the American Burger (GF Bun)with green beans. Knowledgeable staff. Make sure you visit the bathrooms, too. Would visit again.
Yes
They have a GF bun that’s perfect for the kids burger. However, I wish they had additional GF sides that are kid friendly.
Yes
Knowledgeable staff + gluten free menu with disclaimer that CC is possible.
Excellent meal and knowledgeable staff!
Not a ton of gf opinions, but by far the best attention paid to cross contamination ive seen in the 6 plus years we've navigated eating out with celiac. Jen was our waitress, very much appreciated her insights. Mgmt was also very in tune to our order.

The gluten free menu is limited. The GF bun is terrible. The only bright spot was the staff was very nice.
Gluten free menu and the udi’s bun was yummy! Not dry as they usually are!
The staff was very helpful in explaining their processes for cooking food from the gluten free menu. The menu had decent options as well. Unfortunately, as knowledgeable as the staff was, the food itself left something to be desired; it wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t great. Overall, just OK. Kind of a let down.
Yes
The atmosphere was great, the server was extremely helpful. Appreciated the gluten free menu which covered entrees not starters and dessert. Did not try the fries as there is no dedicated fryer. Otherwise there was a wide variety of ciders on the menu as well as Omission Gluten Free beer.
Yes
Very cool restaurant, disappointed that they glutened my 5yo, (he ordered grilled chicken and steamed broccoli). Reacted within 90 minutes of eating.
No
No gluten free hamburger bun so that's a no go
Server and manager seemed aware of cross contamination and were very helpful with menu options that I could eat. Will go back!
Yes
Boring GF menu, seems like a gesture of accommodation instead of any actual effort to please. Salads & bunless burger. Why restaurants don't keep GF buns in the freezer baffles me. Would not return.
This is a new restaurant in my area so I thought I would try it out. The waitress did not know they even had a Gluten Free Menu. She did not know what Celiac Disease was. I told her to tell the cooks to keep my food separate from gluten and take extra precautions. I got super sick eating their Beans and Cobb Salad. I will not eat there again! It was awful.
No
The restaurant has an awesome theme and dedicated gluten free menu.
GF menu and quite aware of GF issues. No GF bun though. Not sure if they were just out of it or they just do not serve it. Also no dedicated fryer but the beans were great.
No
Great gluten free burger!
Good gluten free menu! Not 5 stars because no dedicated gluten free fryer. Wife has celiacs and did not get sick. Decent selection on gluten free menu. Lots of cider and gluten free beer to!
Yes
Great atmosphere! A bit overpriced. I got the grass fed buffalo burger for 16.95. It was delicious!
