La Pizza & La Pasta — if you are celiac, stay away from the pizza BUT if cross contact doesn’t impact you, the gluten free pizza (which they call gluten light because of the cross contact) is AMAZING. Best GF dough I have had. Otherwise, the GF pasta is also very good.

This place is great for travelers because they have groceries. There are wonderful imported Italian packaged gluten free crackers and cookies, cheese, deli meats, olives, and a produce section. It's easy to buy a celiac safe picnic. As others have noted the restaurant section is problematic. The pizza crust doesn't list any gluten ingredients but has a warning about gluten cross contact. I took a risk and got sick, though the crust was wonderful.

The supermarket has alot of gluten free goodies. I was so surprised and thrilled to see that they carried it. In europe, gluten free sections are huge- I'm glad that eatalys market carries a great amount of gluten free items. Highly recommend!

I went to the NYC one years ago before I was diagnosed celiac and loved it. I saw they offered GF pasta options so decided to try the one in Boston.
I had a really great GF pasta dish and the only thing they couldn’t modify for me was the ravioli.
I’d definitely feel safe going back, they had a lot of gluten free cookies and pastas in the store part too! Ended the trip with pistachio gelato and I believe all other flavors available that day were GF too.

I’m so confused why reviews are poor here. If you want gluten free pizza and pasta…this isn’t the place. But if you want a healthy meal, this is a winner. The separate food booths honestly take care of cross contamination risk, so that’s great. I have eaten here twice in three days. I ate at the fish booth, which has no gluten…fish, potatoes, veggies. Cooked with lemon and EVOO. And I ate at the butcher and had delicious grilled chicken and a simple salad. And I had a nice cheese plate too. I also stopped by the gelato shop for dessert. Just stay away from the pizza, sandwich and pasta stands. The naturally gluten free food is much better anyway! This is also in the only smoke free hotel/casino in Vegas. Extra credit for that.

We ordered Chicken and Potatoes, those are GF options. They also have vegetable side option.

I stopped by the pizza and pasta restaurant after reading that they had some gf options. I spoke with the woman at the host stand prior to being seated and she informed me that the gf pizza is not recommended for those with celiac (this is also listed directly on the menu) due to it not being a gf environment (dough is made in same area and pizzas are handled on same surfaces as non gf). However, their pasta kitchen is separate and she said they could make any of their pastas except the ravioli with gf pasta.
Spoke with my waitress about the allergy as well and she can me the same info. I ended up ordering the Cacio e Pepe. BUT my stomach had started to hurt after a few bites and I found not only a piece of plastic mixed in, but a clearly not GF noodle (they only had one type of gf pasta noodle).
They ended up taking care of my meal, but I would not reccomend this location for anyone with a severe intolerance or celiac's.

This is an interesting concept - different “booths” sell Italian street food, or pizza, or gelato, or Nutella - but there is Nothing Gluten Free. The cheese stand was closed on Monday, but they didn’t even have packaged cheese in the refrigerator case. You could have gotten a GF pizza on the sit down restaurant (and I was told GF pasta but it wasn’t on the menu) but there was along line and we didn’t want pizza again. So I resorted to ordering a ball of fresh mozzarella from the bar and ate that with some almonds I had in my purse

This place is an Italian high-end grocery store experience with multiple restaurant and wine area. While mostly for gluten eaters almost all products in the store note (with a logo as well) if they contain gluten. I found imported pastas, cookies, chocolate, etc. Just a culturally eye opening experience.

As others have said, only two dishes can be made celiac-safe, and both are salads. In NYC, there are so many other places that are more worth your time and money

The hostess told me that they can make any pasta dish gluten free. When I ordered with the waiter he said no only two dishes can be made gluten free.

nope - not celiac friendly. They have the “low gluten” pastries and gluten free dough but don’t cook it or make it in a dedicated area. If you’re just avoiding gluten maybe you’ll be fine, but if you have an allergy I would not eat here.

Ordered their gluten free pizza and was sick for 2 days afterwards. I was skeptical when the receipt came back "gluten light." Not sure why such a thing exists, but in any event this is definitely not safe for celiacs. They do have excellent gluten free pastas and sweets available in their grocery section however.

They have gluten free penne noodles, but their gluten friendly pizza is loaded with cross contamination.
The gluten friendly pizza is amazing, I just wish they used different kitchen space to get rid of cross contamination. Their gf penne noodles and everything else naturally gf is great though.

Staff was knowledgeable about celiac with the server asking if celiac, allergy or sensitivity.
Yes
Asked if the soup was GF, they checked with another employee who said no because their is cream in it. š
The staff at Manzo was very knowledgeable about celiac and made us feel safe. My daughter got the pasta with bacon and it was DELICIOUS! She had gelato as well. We actually went ahead and bought 2 bags of the dried pasta to take home. You could not tell it was GF! She did not get sick!
Yes
Gluten light pizza. Took the risk after being told of cross contamination. I did react, totally my fault. The crust was delicious nevertheless.
No
Gf pasta available. Staff are knowledgeable and want to know if it’s allergy or dietary. Had a great experience!
Yes
Staff was knowledgable. Pasta is completely gluten free, prepared in a separate area. Pizza is NOT gluten free, as there is cross contamination.
Yes
While the pizza isn’t 100% celiac friendly - the bake it in the same oven with their other pizzas - if gluten free is a preference vs an allergy this is by far the BEST gluten free pizza I’ve ever had! Also they do offer true gluten free pasta dishes and they are delicious!! So good I’ve come here 2X in a row!
La Pizza La Pasta at Eataly offers both GF pizza and pasta options. They can substitute all pasta dishes (except filled pastas and spaghetto pomodoro) with the GF option. I got the Cacio E Pepe and it was delicious! Staff was very knowledgeable, told me GF Pizza is cooked in same oven as regular pizza so avoid if you have celiac, but GF pasta should be safe for all.
I have a wheat allergy so stepping foot in Eataly was a bad idea. Headache and fatigue about five minutes after being there. I shopped for 20 minutes and found wheat replacements for both pasta and crackers before sitting down at Osteria. By then I had worked up an appetite for pasta, only to be informed that they only serve gf pasta at one of the other restaurants. Because we were settled into a bottle, we opted to sit tight. We ordered the charcuterie plate - it was delivered beautifully, but without any explanation of what was on the board (and it wasn’t listed on the menu). I opted for the octopus and broccoli, which were both good, but not mind blowing for the price. Overall the Osteria service was blah - I haven’t left a 15% tip in a long time.
Dessert wasn’t offered - we went downstairs for gelato that was delicious and reasonably priced.
I won’t go back - wasn’t worth the physical ailments.
No
As a place to buy supplies, it’s fine, but after getting the run around from different staff at various places, when I finally spoke to a waiter, he told me there’s risk of contamination in all of their kitchens.
No
I’m not sure if they recently changed their menu option but they had no gluten free pasta options. Even the steak with no sauce couldn’t be done GF safely since they use a shared flat top grill with their focaccia bread (as told by the knowledgable waiter). The only option he recommended was the chicken as that was baked. I was fine eating it but the dish was very underwhelming and not very Italian for such an Italian spot.
No
Lots of GF items to take home to prepare. To eat in, choices are limited.
Incredible place, so much to see, an incredible market and dinning
However - not recommended for the celiac. They cross contaminated and made my wife sick
No
At best this is gluten friendly , not safe for Celiacs. Staff not very knowledgeable
We ate at Eataly after going to the 9/11 memorial. I was not impressed! They had a salad and they had a pasta option. The pasta was cooked al dente which I think must be a New York thing. I personally don’t care for it. We paid $24 for a pasta with a little sauce on it and I could not eat it. It just did not taste good (to me). Dine elsewhere if you’re celiac.
The most ahhmazing gluten free PIZZAš It was the best pizza I've ever had, including "real" pizza before being diagnosed with celiac. Please note that the pizza is cooked in the same oven as the other pizzas, so you're taking a risk. I am SUPER sensitive to cross contamination and did not get sick.
La Pasta and La Pizza have gluten-free options. Staff was knowledgeable. Fantastic GF wood fired pizza.
The only thing GF here seems to be their Gelato. But it’s real and it’s fabulous! They also have GF pasta for sale in their grocery department.
Yes
No gluten free pasta, service is slow. Server was rude
No
I found they did not offer a gluten free menu. They had many options that would be considered gluten free, but I had to work hard to sort out any cross contamination issues. The area we ate in did not serve gluten free pasta, but a different area did. I find this to be totally ridiculous. As a newly diagnosed celiac I did not feel extremely comfortable eating there. I love this place so I truly hope they can figure out how to introduce a gluten free menu and gluten free pasta throughout the restaurants. Also, education of the staff would make it much easier to navigate. Maybe some gluten free bread-wow that would be amazing!
The pasta is incredible! It takes extra time to cook it so be prepared to wait.
My only complaint is being Eataly, the fact that they only have one style of pasta that is completely free is a little sad.
Yes
Lots of yummy gf options. I've had great pasta here, and this visit we were in a hurry so I was advised to go to the rotisserie. I had amazing prime rib with potatoes and greens. There are also several gf dessert options at the coffee bar.
went for dessert. the tiramisu was great!
Their whole fish with skin on is to die for! so many flavors of citrus and Herb with a delicious crispy skin and a light flaky interior that they will debone for you at the table. the assorted root vegetables have a delicate butter glaze that seem to have a hint of Dill . Honestly, it was beyond fabulous . Excellent presentation and as always wonderful wine pairings everywhere.
Yes
The dessert shop over by the gelato had several gluten free selections carefully marked.
EXCELLENT experience! I ended up sitting at the bar, so I was able to watch my meal be cooked from start to finish. They use a noticeably different pan to cook the GF pasta, and my meal was delicious and carefully handled. I ordered a Lumache con Salsiccia e Finocchio. Great service too!
Yes
Ate here last weekend with my daughter. They are more dismissive with my concern than dutiful, but I think because they deal with it all the time. They answered all the right questions about using a separate pot, etc. They can do any of the pastas (except ravioli of course). However, I ordered off the fresh section instead of Imported, and they didn't tell me until I was finished that it was sold in a package in their store, not make by them. But it was good anyway. I had the seafood pasta with a tomato/wine sauce, and my daughter loved her Buccatini. They had a good Italian wine I enjoy at home As well. For dessert I went downstairs and had the granita. I think I could have had the gelato but didn't want to think about CC. Great service and I would come again if my family "needed" Italian.
Yes
I had gluten free pasta with Italian bacon. This is actually several testaurants or cafes and a large Italian food store owned by Mario Batali (he's a Food Network Italian chef). I had Casarecce all' Amatriciana, gluten free pasta, guanciale (Italian bacon), red onion, tomato, chili flake and pecorino Romano cheese. It was so good! I am tried some cheeses and the tartufo salami. I had the GF semifreddo (made with a rice flour sponge cake base) for dessert. I also bought some GF pasta and cookies to take home. Fun place!
Yes
Totally recommend for a gf pasta experience! The pasta was cooked well and seemed homemade. Very tasty
The waitress seemed less than excited about having to deal with a Celiac. That should have tipped me off. I got very ill last night and felt awful today. I suspect stray non GF noodles.
No
Had some tasty gluten free pasta and gelato. Everything was tasty.
Yes
Had plenty of options at the pasta restaurant. My son and I both Celiacs ate with no reaction. We finished with gf mousse desserts from La Pasticerria. Very good.
Overwhelming with yumminess! The gluten free pasta tasted great and was cooked perfectly. There isn't a gf pizza option but the ambiance and people watching made up for it.
