Gluten-Free at Whataburger

I have Celiac. I got a burger without a bun and they put it in a really nice container, but unfortunately I still got sick. I don't know about a dedicated fryer, but if you are celiac I probably wouldn't eat here, or eat with caution.

— Excellent

Fries are cooked in the same fryer as other gluten things so they aren’t safe for celiac.

I was traveling and stopped at this Whataburger. I ordered a bacon avocado burger w/o the bun & mentioned the gluten allergy. The man who took my order made sure they changed gloves. My burger was even marked with a "special" sticker. Fries are gluten free, but not in a dedicated fryer so I couldn't get them. I will be stopping there again!

The staff assured the grilled chicken was prepared in a separate area from the buns and even asked if I wanted them to change gloves, I run the nima test and came as gluten found. Also the fries are fried on same oil as the onion rings. Be aware celiacs

Ordered grilled chicken breasts & fries- it was delicious & no one got sick! Even the most sensitive person with wheat allergy (in addition to gluten intolerance) can eat here with no issues. :)

Staff was knowledgeable and assured me that precautions would be taken to prevent cross-contamination, the man taking my order even went to the back to make sure kitchen staff handled my food correctly. Bacon cheeseburger and fries were great! Ketchup and spicy ketchup are gluten free as well. My order was bagged separately. The french fries are in a dedicated fryer without breaded items. They were very busy but managed to keep my meal safe!

They did a great job keeping us safe! Everything was packaged separately for including the sauces. Very impressed! We brought our own buns. We did have some gawkers watching us! I guess it was interesting to see people bringing their own buns.

Very impressed. I had never been to a Whataburger before so I looked up what was gluten free before hand. Order no bun and they will bring everything separate for you to assemble.. even the condiments! Fries were good as well!!

I had read online how you can order burgers at Whataburger without the bun. I decided with a limited time burger sounding good recently added to the menu, I would try it. It was great, the burger came in a container where the sauce was on the side to add myself. The burgers were grilled good and cheese melted good. In addition, they included a knife and fork as well for eating. They were very accommodating to make a sandwich without the bun and a great way to enjoy fast food with a few less calories. I will say, the burger was nicely flavored and not over seasoned as I have had from other national chains before in the past. I wish I had thought about this years ago.

Fast food and not listed on the menu, but I ate there two days in a row and got jr. bacon burger and grilled chicken sandwich without bun and salad. Not bad, but you do have to ask.

Typical Whataburger. Sometimes very busy. Great location for drive-bys

Ordered a burger minus the bun and fries. Requested to change gloves and handle with caution for cc. The girl who took my order said she would personally handle it. She did awesome! She was so careful. It was a great, safe meal on the go.

While this restaurant is not strictly a gluten free facility, the manager went out of his way to help me select safe items for my celiac daughter to eat. And as the food was being prepared, he personally supervised and instructed his staff so that her food was kept separate and packaged in a container to protect it from cross-contamination. We will definitely come here again!

I am severe celiac any small amount of cross contamination puts me down for a few days so I am the ultimate Guinea pig.This location has dedicated fryer for fries. Bunless burgers in a dish. Very good stuff and the manager Chris was helpful and confident about the perporation of the food.Happy to have another place for great fries and good burgers.
