surprised to find this restaurant across the street from my business trip hotel with a coeliac uk certified gluten free menu! the hostess asked as soon as we entered if anyone in the party had allergies and handed me the appropriate menu. the waitress gave me extra time to go over the allergen options and walked me through my questions - the fryer for chips and fries only hasgluten free items fried in it. there is another fryer for other items (calamari for example) that contain gluten. all of my items also came out with a flag on top of them to indicate they were the gf options. and it tasted yummy too! ill be visiting here a lot during my business trip, and trying most of the menu.
I had only been to another Miller and Carter once years ago and this recent visit is a vast improvement compared to that first one. There is a separate gluten free menu which has about 90% of the regular menu on it so a great range of options. Pretty much all sauces and sides are gluten free and the chips are now as well, when they weren't on my first visit. Steak was also cooked well. Cider options are pretty limited but I would be having wine with steak anyway! Will happily go back.
Had a lovely meal at Miller & Carter. The staff are knowledgeable on gluten free and can a answer any questions. They do have a separate gluten free menu but there is an additional allergen guide on a tablet if needed. The food itself was brought over by a manager and was delicious
The food was tasty though there were no mains I could eat as I am lactose intolerant and vegetarian as well as celiacs. I did manage to get 3 sides and it made for a great meal.
They have a separate fryer for their fries (yayy) and have a phone app, sorry I can't remember which, which has allergy information. The staff were confident and knowledgeable, was nice that it was not treated as a big deal and they answered all of my questions happily.
Good little chain. Ideal for something a bit nicer for dinner out. CoeliacUk accredited GF menu, can't ask for better. Staff were very knowledgeable. In my opinion, the steak was subpar and the sides were really lacking. Maybe I went on an off day. But nice for meal out
We have been eating here for years, even before my wife was diagnosed with coeliac disease, but even more so since as it is meant to be coeliac accredited.
For a few years it has always been safe. There is a gluten free menu and the people serving you are very good when it comes to going through the options.
On our last visit it took quite a while for us to get our food and when we came home my wife had a head ache, upset stomach and vomited. We have visited again tonight for my birthday and my mother in laws. Have got home and my wife’s stomach is swollen and she almost looks pregnant, doesn’t feel well and feels very tired. Am just praying it doesn’t turn into a migraine with vomiting and other symptoms she suffers from when glutened. The service again was very slow, kids got their starter after about an hour and we got our lettuce, then mains were about 20 minutes after that. It just feels like it’s gone down hill recently and if anything the staff are over stretched. That might explain the wait but doesn’t excuse my wife being glutened. My mother in laws onion loaf was cold as well.
We have always sung this place praises but I don’t think we will be going back. After spending upwards of £200 you don’t expect your wife to be glutened, especially when it’s a coeliac accredited restaurant.
If you or your family have coeliac I would think twice about going here.
I love coming to my local Miller and Carter especially because it has a dedicated gluten free menu and they use a separate fryer. The menu provides lots of options - starters, mains and desserts. All steak sauces are gluten free which I find rare in most restaurants. Definitely recommend to coeliacs. It is also accredited by Coeliac UK.
This is a fantastic place to eat dinner when visiting Manchester. As someone with celiac the staff was very accomodating and made me feel safe to eat there. Our server Conner was very fun and friendly. The manu was huge with lots of options for gluten free meals. My friend asked if they had beef wellington that was not on the menu, but then got recommended to try the beef shin side dish as a replacement and it is the best and most tender meat I’ve ever had. Would absolutely reccomend to give them a visit.
I love the quality of the steak in Miller and Carter. They have an extensive gluten free menu which is only a little different from the main menu. Pretty good if you’re also avoiding dairy. I can’t comment on safety for coeliacs as I’m only intolerant so I don’t ask about separate fryers for example
Very good food. Able to have most things on the menu
Great experience, gluten free menu with lots of options and knowledge staff.
Steak house that has gluten free options
Gluten free menu available
The most amazing steak house to eat GF - the kitchen is even accredited by Coeliac UK. There is an extensive separate gluten free menu with too many options to choose from including sticky toffee pudding! Will never fail to return here. Staff are so knowledgeable and make you feel at ease.
This chain uses the 'glass onion' app to help customers choose what they wish to eat.
