Do NOT eat here if you have celiac or an allergy. Their menu has options that can be made “gluten-friendly.” I notified the server that I have an allergy, and he noted it on our ticket. It’s been almost 6 hours since eating and I am sick. I haven’t been glutened this bad in months.
We live locally and have been here many times. However, first time with my celiac-diagnosed daughter (6 months ago). I appreciated the knowledge of our server, and understood that they only have “gluten-friendly” options. That being said, even the Cesar salad go-to for my daughter had gluten components. Probably the worst option for restaurants in the area.
The head chef spent nearly ten minutes in the phone and in person going over ingredients for making a steak salad gluten and dairy free including dressings. My girlfriend is gluten, dairy and has multiple other allergies. He was so kind and never once made me feel like an inconvenience. We will definitely be going here again.
NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY. DON'T TRUST THEM. NO GLUTEN FREE PASTA!
We went specifically because our daughter (celiac) wanted pasta. The server, and then the manager, confirmed that they cook the gluten-free pasta in the same water as the traditional pasta! Crazy but true. The manager then rudely and defiantly fed us some b.s. that the water temp keeps the pasta gluten free and they did not have room for a pot of dedicated water. Smaller restaurants are capable of doing it, why not them? "Gluten transfers to gluten-free pasta when cooked in shared pasta cooking water." - ScienceDirect
I ate there last evening. They did not have a gf menu, but a few items were marked that they could prepare gf. I chose the shrimp scampi. It was prepared with gf rotini, the only gf pasta they had. It was delicious. The dish came out with 2 pieces of non-gf garlic crostini. If you're concerned about cross contamination, I'd avoid this place. The only dessert they had that could be prepared gf was vanilla Gelato!
If I could give it a 0, I would, but I can't, so I give it a 1. They forgot to even give me my food after over an hour of waiting as the rest of my table ate :( the pasta is bland and worse than some of the box pastas I buy from the store. Could not accommodate for an egg allergy and made us pay $8 for lettuce and Parmesan cheese.
Server and service was fantastic but this place is not celiac friendly. Items on the menu that can be made gluten free are marked. I requested the Fra Diavolo pasta as it is marked that it can be made gluten free but asked to double check with the chef. The chef mentioned that the dish could not be made gluten free as it contains some Alfredo sauce that has flour in it. So use caution even when ordering menu items marked gluten free. I then went with the Caesar salad as I was assured it’s safe but there ended up being cross contamination as I was sick within a hour.
They have a gluten free noodle option and the types of pasta that can be made gluten free are marked on the menu. There are also a couple of non pasta dishes that are gluten free (filet mignon, NY strip, pork chops, salmon salad, caprese salad).
It is made clear on the menu that they are only gluten friendly and cannot guarantee that these items are completely safe.
Dec 10, 2022. Stopped for a quick lunch. Menu is very limited and our server did not give me any confidence when I was ordering. I reluctantly ordered because we needed to eat and be somewhere fast. I ate a grilled salmon salad. Dressing was supposed to be on side, but wasn't. Meal was fine and I didn't get sick, but the experience was not a good one.
Placed an order for gluten free pizza and when we drove all the way over to pick it up, we were told they don’t offer it anymore!
Maybe change the online menu so people don’t waste their time driving out for gluten free food? And also alert the person on the phone that you don’t offer gluten free food.
Items marked GF on menu. I ordered the grilled salmon, along with my another member of my party. They brought the dishes and I asked before eating if I had the GF dish. The server said yes. About 5 minutes into our meal, the server and manager came over to our table and informed me I’d been given the wrong plate. The sweet potatoes seasoning was not GF. Was sick for 10 days. I gave this restaurant another try last night. I thought it would be safe to order same meal since I knew what to look for. Plate came out correctly, however I’m sick again this morning. Not confident with cross contamination here.
Cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience here! Not only was the food delicious but my server, Teresa, was excellent! She was very knowledgeable about Celiac and ensured me she and everyone in the kitchen would take every precaution to ensure I did not get sick. I had the Gluten Free Pasta Woozie and it was amazing! I definitely would recommend this place; I will be coming back!
Very limited GF options. Do have GF pasta. Food was okay, but very bland.
I started going here based on the reviews on this app and input from the local Celiac support group. I've gone twice. The first time was great. The female server was very thoughtful and careful. We got our food and didn't have any Celiac reactions. The second time we went, the server was flippant about it and even brought a salad with gluten containing croutons despite telling us that it was gluten free. I actually ate two bites before I saw the croutons underneath the lettuce. We had been very clear to the him about the seriousness of our condition. He comped the salad but that doesn't matter if i get sick. I will call the manager. I will note that the food is not great. It's not bad but not great.
No dedicated menu in restaurant. I did find one online. Staff had minimal knowledge on GF. Ordered pasta woozie GF and my friend had regular pasta wookie. They gave me an identical plate as my friend. The staff was apologetic and switched out my dish. Thankful I pointed out the noodles matched. Not sure if the sauce is gf. I did have a mild reaction. Won't go again
Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. As soon as I told my waiter that I had Celiac, he took note and assured me that the gluten free pasta was prepared separately. I ordered the Pasta Bravo, and after my order was placed, the waiter came back and informed me he talked to the chef too. My food came out by the manager, and was very good. When it came to dessert, I asked if there were any options since the menu listed none. The waiter went and checked, and the Creme Brulee was actually gf - it was amazing. All in all, great experience, and no adverse reactions. I'll definitely dine here again!
Not safe they got our order wrong twice and said the pasta was gluten free and it was not. So they either have no idea or don’t care and put me daughter at risk so waste of money and time and not safe.
It’s easy to tell their gluten free pasta apart because it’s spirals. I ended up with part of a regular fettuccini noodle in my gluten free pasta :-/ the manager assured me he’d talk to the kitchen staff about it but I was very disappointed because I have previously had very good experiences at other Brio and Bravo restaurants
Me and my grandmother both order a gluten free pasta. The cooks messed it up the first time but before even bringing the food out they corrected it. And they gave us a free salad and free dessert. It was delicious and a little high but worth it!!!!
I ate at this location on August 23rd, 2018. Their menu has several items which are clearly marked 'GF' including gluten-free pastas which they prepare in a separate area from all other pastas. I had a salmon salad and found it to be really tasty and did not get sick. My one complaint was that I wish they actually offered a separate gluten free menu so that I wouldn't have to see all their other pasta dishes that I can't eat. :-(
My wife has been a celiac for 14 years. She is very careful and rarely has a reaction. She recently ate at this Bravo location and was violently sick for 3 days. She was obviously served wheat pasta instead of GF pasta. Do not trust the staff at this location. By far the worst reaction she has ever had eating at a restaurant.
Staff was very knowledgeable and offered gluten free options. Everything tasted amazing.
I did not feel our waiter took my request seriously. I called the manager to our table and she personally checked on the order and gave us a complimentary dessert.
gf menu however limited options. 3 pastas, salads and steak.
Amazing food, great gluten free options, staff seem knowledgeable and concerned about cross contamination.
GF selections are a few fewer than what the photo from a previous post shows. They had a strip steak, filet and 3-4 pasta dishes. They have a few salads too. They answered questions correctly. Was thrown off a bit because the previous GF pasta was a penne pasta. When we received our food it was rotini. We asked to confirm that it was GF - they double checked and said yes. No one got sick. Delicious food!
They have markings on the regular menu for items that can be made gluten free. There is no way to prevent some cross contamination but she told me they use fresh pans and utensils to make the food if you tell them it’s an allergy. I’m very, very sensitive (Celiac)so of course I had a minor reaction but I think this place would be ok for gluten sensitive or someone who isn’t very reactive.
There are many gluten free options on the menu, but they do call out they cannot ensure GF cooking practices. My dish came out littered with bread crumbs. Upon getting it a second time, the pasta (which is just boxed from the store) was extremely over cooked and the sauce has no flavor.
The staff was very helpful and knew about celiac and cross contamination. I called and they offered to let me talk with Chef Ralph who assured me I would be safe. Upon arrival the shift manager talked with us, then the general manager/owner came to our table to check on us, and chef Ralph came out to our table also.... made sure all was good and gave me a hug! I had pasta woozie which was very good. Excellent and would go again!
They do not have a dedicated menu but the menu is clearly marked for dishes which can be made gluten free. our waitpersin was very knowledgeable and asked the cooks to clarify things she didn't know. I did not get sick here. will be back!
Great gluten free pasta, however the waitress i had wasn't very knowledgeable.
When we were seated, my mom asked to speak with the head chef. She explained to him that my celiac son was nervous about eating outside of the house recently and asked if he could assure us that the gluten free food was safe for celiac diners. The chef responded with one word: "yes". I would have felt better if he went on to explain the precautions taken in the kitchen, but I figured 'yes' was better than 'no'. The restaurant was fairly empty, so I was comfortable that they would be able to prevent cross contamination.
My son ordered the GF pasta woozie without chicken. When we ordered, the server asked if he had an allergy or if this was a food preference. I took that as a good sign. As my son was eating his meal, he noticed part of a ravioli in his dish. We notified the staff who apologized. The manager (?) personally watched the chef remake the dish and she assured us that it was safe to eat this time. My mom dined there again within the same week. She mentioned the incident to a manager and was told that she did not hear of the gluten incident and she should have been informed. This restaurant handled the situation professionally, and didn't charge us for the dish, but this should not have happened.
I haven't had a problem with the gf pasta here.
I have celiac and my husband and I come here all the time and sit in the bar section. David, one of the managers told me shortly after I was diagnosed that all of their pasta is boiled separately. Any time they have accidentally made my djsh wjth gluten, they have always told me of the mistake and remade it (and given me a free glass of wine for the mistake!) They really care about gluten sensitive people. Plus the food is absolutely amazing. The shrimp scampi, chicken with sun dried tomato goat cheese and creme brûlée are my favorite :) one of my favorite restaurants in the area by far!
Ate here today with my 3 year ole daughter who has celiac. Made waitress aware she cannot have gluten and ordered gf pasta with butter. Double checked with waitress when food came out that the noodles were gf. She assured me they were. Two hours later and my daughter has been vomiting with belly pain all afternoon/night. I will never go back here. Would not suggest anyone with a gluten issue/celiac disease eat here
I just found out that I have Celiac's so I was nervous about going out to eat for the first time since. But they were so accommodating and had so many options. I got a gluten free pasta dish and chopped salad. So good. Definitely would recommend! And definitely Celiac friendly.
My gluten free order was double checked before being served, Bravo to the wait staff!
My gluten free order was double checked before serving me. Bravo to all the wait staff that served me!
Gluten free menu with a number of salad and entree options. When I told the server I had celiac, the sous chef came out and explained they would prepare all of my food separately to avoid cross contamination.
Awesome food. This is my favorite gluten free place to go. Pasta and salad delicious. I've never gotten contaminated here. Staff is understanding and knowledgeable of needs. Shrimp scampi pasta is amazing.
Had GF pasta dish first time. No reaction. Second time (Valentines Day) GF pasta must have been wheat as I had a super bad dermatitis herpeatformis (DH) rash reaction. I'll never order GF pasta, anywhere, because of the risk of unknowingly ingesting a huge amount of wheat.
Our experience was great! Waiter was very helpful! Wonderful!
love this place friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. need more desserts and appetizers but really great pasta!!!!
Bravo has a menu that indicates which dishes can be made GF. There are only a few--salad and some of the pasta dishes but I ordered a dairy free version of the chicken and spring vegetables pasta that was not even indicated to be GF with GF pasta as a substitute and I had no reaction. It is grilled chicken, pesto (no cheese in pesto) and veggies. Delicious! I am not Celiac so one would need to investigate further about cross contamination etc., if you are.
