When I’m in need for a burger on a delicious bun and fries This is my go to place And I highly suggest the Brussels Sprouts, I order to take home
— Gluten-free items are marked on the main menu
Give it a try
You can get beers, wine and drinks
They have a dedicated fryer for fried sweet potatoes
The burger I ate was delicious!! I’ll go back
I didn’t get sick after eating here. I’m celiac
With all of these great reviews I was really excited to try this place. I got one of their fried chicken sandwiches and ordered with a gluten-free bun, shared the waffle fries with friends. All items I ordered were labelled gluten free and I informed my servers (2 different people came to my table) that I needed GF good for allergy reasons. Within 30 minutes of leaving I was in the bathroom and in pain, have continued to be for the last 14 hours. I don’t know if the buns got swapped because I asked and they said there’s separate fryers. Maybe it was an off night? The food was so good too :(
To preface, I think Yeah Burger is a better burger and fries and a better price point. However, if you want something different Bare Burger is accommodating and they understand celiac disease. I did not have any issues going there.
I love BareBurger and have eaten at other locations of this chain in different states. I have never had an issue with being glutened or served the wrong bun like a few other reviews mentioned. Our server was very knowledgeable and explained prep procedures to me. They have a dedicated fryer for fries, which as a Celiac is such a major win! I always do the build your own burger and choose all my ingredients from there, I like to switch it up every time since they have many GF options. I am also allergic to dairy and they have vegan cheese options and milkshakes which makes me SO happy because this place is one of the only I can get a safe GF DF milkshake! They offer both regular fries and sweet potato fries, which I always get both of because why not!? I highly recommend this place for those with Celiac and/or dairy allergies!
I love this place with all of my heart, but they are not celiac friendly, everything I get from there gives me stomach cramps, if your allergy is less serious though, go ahead because their stuff tastes awesome
Amazing for Gluten Free! They ask before you even look at the menu if there are any allergies at the table and most items can be altered to suit. They have a separate fryer for us as well, I had sweet potato fries and a burger and I have not reacted (I know very quickly if I’ve had something I shouldn’t). Really pleased and will be heading back again before we leave :)
I really enjoyed my meal at BareBurger and didn’t have a reaction. They have a full allergy chart that spilts their menu into GF and vegan items. The waiter was very understanding and knowledgable about Celiac and said they have a separate prep area and fryer for GF and notified the staff on the ticket. It was great to have a burger with all the fix-ins and fries!
Had an incredible burger! Vegan and gf. It was clearly an udi’s bun, which tipped me off right away it was definitely GF. The staff was incredible! I ordered a to-go order and went to pick it up...from the wrong location, and the manager from the one I ordered from drove it out to me. Great lunch, above and beyond service.
Bad protocols at this location. Asked for GF bun and specifically said tell kitchen gluten allergy. Was brought a burger, thought it was going to be safe, ate it, got the receipt and it said brioche, and now my weekend is ruined :))))
After asking many questions regarding if safe to eat for a celiac they assured me they use proper handling and are knowledgable on the disease. Within minutes of my daughter with celiac eating a bite of her burger she was sick! Which means she was glutened! Ruined our NYE plans and left my daughter in a lot of misery. So disappointed. Would rather them turn me away then be careless. Will not be back. Not safe for Celiac’s
This restaurant ruined our New Year’s Eve Party. Even though we repeatedly informed them that my niece has Celiac, and she only got a simple burger, she was sick before she finished the burger. Now instead of counting down the new year, she is dealing with intense pain and unable to participate. Will never eat here again.
Got fries. No issues. Will go back to have a real meal with my Nima. UPDATE: Got the El Cartin salad and tested that with OUT the dressing and Nima tested it gluten free. Yummy and safe!! The staff and kitchen seems to have made improvements based on my convo and it showed in my meal. I wouldn’t eat there without testing, but glad for an option in a very limited area for my diet. UPDATE UPDATE: Ok. Been back a good amount of times and 65-70% of the time the food test negative (no gluten found) with my Nima. When gluten is found they’ve remade or removed from bill. They are always cordial about, so I’ll continue to dine here. However, I would never eat without testing first.
One of the best chains for GF. Dedicated fryer, GF chicken fingers and fries, buns for the sandwiches and burgers. So many choices my wife feels normal when eating here. We live near the Closter location and have enjoyed it both in the restaurant and to go several times. Always fresh, never any issues with gluten.
I have been relying on Bareburger for the occasional burger, making excuses for getting sick because the food is decent and the restaurant is accommodating. This last time eating at Bareburger and subsequently getting sick, I am sure that this restaurant does not prevent cross contamination, it is not safe, do not eat here if you have celiac.
Best place I’ve eaten at! Almost everything on the menu is gluten free! Everything is made fresh. Having the option to order what ever I wanted made me feel safe and I was able to order fries which I never get to do at other restaurants. Definitely will recommend to anyone looking for a great place to eat in New York. I didn’t get sick after eating there which made me 100% want to go back!
Is it celiac safe? Definitely. I would give it 5 stars just for that. But the burgers are just not that great. They’re tiny and dry and flavorless. I love the GF options but at the end of the day a Burger needs to be delicious. The fries are pretty good. Overall the menu is pretentious (real bacon never bored anyone, no thanks on the duck bacon) but I can always find something to eat. I’m editing this review because recently Bareburger has upped their game. Their burgers seem a little bigger and they have changed their fried chicken to be gluten free! And it was delicious omg, it’s been forever since I was able to enjoy a proper buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. And it looks like they’re back to normal bacon yey! and have added waffle fries. Onion rings still not GF so sad.
Blazing Bison burger with GF was ok. Bun was not toasted so no cross contamination so I presume the Sweet potato fries must have been put in wrong fries cause I had a reaction.
We’ve been eating here regularly for a year and a half and have had nothing but great experiences. Many gf options. As of now, all of their breaded chicken is gluten free. Dedicated fryer for the fries. GF buns or collard green wrap for burgers or sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, salads, sandwiches, chips, and sides. Their brunch menu is awesome, as well-GF waffles, bacon, eggs, and the list goes on...
This is one of the few (only) restaurants I can think of that make me HUNGRY and so excited to eat. Everything here is unbelievable good. And almost everything is gluten free. Stuff that NEVER is at other places. I had a juicy, fried buffalo chicken sandwich and crispy sweet potato fries and a bananas foster milkshake. Heaven. Really good sides, tons of options for vegetarians and vegans. Actual options. GO HERE!
Changed the frier oil from canola to soy blend and did inform staff, also didn’t update menus that clearly stated 100% non gmo canola only... both my son and myself who have extremely bad soy allergies were violently ill.
Update 7.31.19: been going somewhat regularly. Sadly gotten rid of most of the obscure meats which is the allure of the place and reason why I’m ok paying 25-30 for a gourmet burger. Still good though and no issues when I do eat there. have a menu different than the ones all around the city. sad they got rid of the tapioca rice bun in exchange for the hemp milk bun but still tasty. Also great to have GF bacon at this location as well. brisket is delicious. was told by the staff not to request to toast bun, since they send it through the same conveyor belt as the other wheat-based buns.
Food is good, and their intentions are good with gluten free/celiac, but too many mistakes so had to stop going there. Manager understands, but kitchen or servers mess things up. Love the food, and celiac daughter loves it, but can’t go anymore. Had other friends’ kids with celiac also get very sick there. Tested with Nima and fries have failed a couple times.
There's very few menu items that aren't GF! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about available options. Cider on draft (also wine and cocktail list), tons of vegan options, and a breakfast menu with gluten free pancakes and waffles.
Burgers were yummy, lots of options: fries, waffle fries, and sweet potato fries...fried chicken. We ordered in for take out. None of my 3 who are sensitive to cc had a reaction. We’d eat there again.
GF clearly marked on menu. Excellent GF bun but overall a little pricy for what you get. Also FMGF list address as West Peachtree but it is on Peachtree.
