I ordered quesadillas on corn tortillas, not an option on their designated allergen menu, but a great option if you aren't so much bothered by cross contamination on the grill. Our server was very helpful and acknowledged my allergy when we ordered.
Little options for celiac. Got a bowl of ingredients literally.
Never gotten sick in the 8+ times of eating here. Tortilla chips are fried in a dedicated fried. Food is ok but safe. Happy hour is actually a great deal though!
I had the chicken fajitas with corn wraps. I also ate the chips and salsa. I am very sensitive to gluten and had no issues with the food I ate.

I really liked how easy it was to order here. There was a separate GF menu and the food was pretty tasty. Waiter was knowledgeable. Chips have their own frier so you can eat them and I really enjoyed the queso dip. If I’m ever in the area again I would definitely eat here again!
I've eaten here a few times now without problems. There are lots of items on the gluten free menu and they seem to take precaution. There's always a risk eating out, but I would recommend this place. Chips and salsa are all gluten free, I was assured they have their own fryer
Great service, separate GF menu. Server was aware- ordered the Cantina Chicken Salad. Salad was fresh, great greens mixture and tasty. Chios and salsa are GF
Fantastic food with a gluten free menu! I got the 2 corn enchiladas with pork, fajita veggies and Mexican rice. They had plenty of gf dishes to pick from, I had a hard time picking what to eat 🥰 The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and courteous as well! I will happily eat there again!
Came to this casual and nice sit-down restaurant with a group for dinner during our visit to see the Sandhill crane migration. Good basic Tex-Mex options with good GF availability. Our server was not that knowledgeable about celiac and GF but he immediately realized he was out of his depth and arranged for the expert to come help with our order. GF options are limited but well marked and delicious- we shared the enchiladas (we got one each of bean, chicken and beef - you can order one of each, you have to ask the server!) and the shrimp fajitas. We were initially told the chips are not GF so we avoided them, but the expert later told us they were GF, prepared in a dedicated fryer, so we had some at the end. Did not get sick at all, loved the food, happy to find a reliable GF place in Grand Island!
My daughter who has celiac has eaten from the gluten free menu several times. So far, no problems.
Combined gluten-free and vegetarian menu. Most items with corn tortillas can be made gluten-free. Some sauces are gluten-free. Tortilla chips are listed as gluten-free, but I didn't asked about a dedicated fryer.
I am new to this Gluten free life style. They where very friendly. The menu did not have tons to choose from but a good selection. I ordered the Taco Salad with pulled chicken which was very good. I will definitely be going back.
They have a gf menu which states which drinks are gf and that their chips and salsa are gf which I appreciated. Servers seemed pretty knowledgeable. I felt safe eating here and good afterwards. The food was average but I really just want a safe meal these days.
Chips are gluten free! best place to get gluten free chips and queso in town. Gluten free menu with lots of choices. They can make almost any taco gluten free
Went here for dinner after searching the app for a safe place. They did not disappoint! Separate gf menu. Chips and salsa are safe for Celiacs! The menu had a good selection. I ordered chicken enchiladas with mexican rice. It was sooo good. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable when she asked if we wanted queso, she said I tell the kitchen to be extra careful, same with my plate. I super sensitive and will get sick almost immediately and I left feeling great! I was full and fully enjoyed our time and meal. Will go back again, if we're ever in the area again.
IThis is one of my go-to places. I give them 5 stars because I've never been sick from eating here ( I'm Celiac and pretty sensitive) they have a separate GF menu, and I know the chips are GF as they do not fry them there ( unlike On theBorder). But...it's tex mex, and sometimes a little lack-luster.
Went here after stopping at the Mississippi museum. They have a separate fryer for the chips which was great and those were wonderful. However waitress did not know anything when we asked her and she had to go back into kitchen. They do have separate menu. The food was not fabulous taste wise. All four of us said prob the worse meal we had but it was safe.

Flew into town and found on this APP, tasted great, had a GF menu. A little older place but everyone was nice and food was good.
The 1st time I went to Carlos Okellys on April 26th 2022 it was great My food great. great and the service was excellent. NO FOOD Allergies problems was the best part. . My daughter took me back for mother's day and I am extremely unhappy. I think they forgot to make my drink alcohol free. I can not been able to get my sugar levels straight for over 2 hours now, the food was very bland this time and the waiters was having a horrible day and should have been sent home after the death of a family member. Her heart wasn't in her job today.
Always a safe and reliable option. Chips, salsa, and queso all GF. The GF enchilada dinner is very good too. Always safe, never been sick from Carlos.
Our server explained food handling procedures and then went out of her way to find me something that was without my other food restrictions. She even brought the manager out to help. I found this restaurant to be trustworthy to avoid cross-contamination.
They weren’t sure about the chips and salsa being gluten free. When they went to check, the waitress said they were and the other young man said they weren’t, so they were taken away from our table. No biggie. But...the food was average at best, and we (both celiac) were feeling sick within an hour of eating here. Save yourself the pain! Also, gluten free and vegan are two different things, so having them on the same square of the menu isn’t too good on their part...

Had the big discussion about GF, waiter did not know if chips were GF from a dedicated fryer, and if Honey Mustard dressing was GF. He had to go ask. After all the discussion of GF, I ordered the Taco Salad off the GF menu out comes my Taco Salad in a flour shell bowl. Is that a GF shell. “We only serve the Taco Salad in the flour bowl”. Uh, no. I ordered off the GF menu, and that means it comes in a bowl and not the flour shell, and don’t just dump this one in a bowl, it’s already been in contact with the shell. Shortly a new waitress came out with my Taco Salad in a ceramic bowl, and she seemed to understand the concept of gluten that so evaded the first waiter.
Don’t know what levels of precautions they take in the kitchen if the order is properly relayed. So far no I’ll effects, but based on my experience I wouldn’t trust them if seriously sensitive or celiac. The margarita was large, tasted good, and generally considered GF.
This was usually my go to restaurant with a decent amount of choices. Well, they’ve changed their menu and now offer enchilada, fajita, nachos or two types of salad. About 5 main items total. Ugh! So disappointing!

OMG... Just flew in from out of state and was looking for GF friendly places to eat. With the name had NO idea it was Mexican, What a BONUS!!! And the food was AMAZING!! They do have a separate GF menu should you desire one. Try the Naked Nachos and the Seafood Enchiladas!!! Can’t wait to finish my business in Hutchinson so I can come back at the end of the week and eat here again before I leave!!! And staff was great too!!
Unfortunately, I didn't have the same great experience as the other reviewers. Ordered fajitas... The tortillas tasted like cardboard and fell apart in my hands. The rest of it tasted ok, but I did get glutened.

They offer a separate GF menu with lots of options (not just salads). It’s not necessarily authentic, but it’s been safe and hits the spot. Plus, the margs are great. I have not been sick and the staff seem to be very considerate and understanding.
They have a full GF menu. It's a Mexican restaurant with a focus on the Midwestern pallet. When I started asking questions they were very helpful and the manager came out and went over the cooking and sourcing.
Super friendly and helpful. I asked about the name of the restaurant and got a neat little history lesson of how they choose the name.
I'm a 5ppm and below, and am not bad today (next morning). I did eat the chips, enchiladas, beans, salsa. Yes, I would go again but would not eat everyday.
Standard Mexican fare plus some extra goodies. Enchiladas were really delicious and I felt confident that care was taken to ensure no cross contamination would occur.
Chips and salsa are GF which is awesome. Dedicated GF menu but have had a few orders come out with bread/croutons when in large groups. Good option but be mindful and request staff change gloves.
Fantastic!! We have 3 with food issues: 2 celiac & lactose intolerant & 1 gluten intolerant. They have a great GF menu & the management, staff & kitchen are VERY knowledgeable about food allergies & cross contamination. I was VERY impressed. We haven't had "safe" Mexican restaurant food for over 8 years & this is now our go to when in Lincoln!
Awesome dinner accompanied by a courteous front staff. Dedicate gluten free menu. Great margaritas! I had brisket tacos which I highly recommend.
Staff was very knowledgeable and assured me that precautions would be taken to prevent cross-contamination. I’ve had multiple things off of their gluten free menu and I’ve never had an issue. They were busy but managed to keep my meal safe!
I have celiac and I’ve never had a problem eating at any of the Carlos locations. They are always willing to change gloves, and understand the importance of cross contamination! Highly recommended!

3 of us are celiacs and had no problem when we stopped here. Good service and nice GF menu. I always appreciate waiters and restaurants that mark the order ticket itself as GF.
Huge GF menu. Dedicated chip fryer. I had the seafood enchiladas with Mexican rice and fajita vegetables. I am severely intolerant and had no side effects. I will come back!
Love there gluten free food! Never got sick from eating
They gave a very nice gluten-free menu and a dedicated GF frier for tortilla chips and other menu items. My daughter has Celiac Disease, she ordered El'Guapo Tacos from the GF menu. Food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful, however before dinner was over it was blatently evident that my daughter had been exposed to gluten. I spoke with the manager, who appeared to be knowledgeable about Celiac Disease, he was very concerned for my daughter and he promised that he would find the source of contamination.
