Jimmy John's does not have gluten free bread for sandwiches, but you can order a sandwich wrapped in lettuce called an 'unwich'
I got an “unwich” with turkey, tomato and guacamole. When I told them I was allergic to gluten, they changed gloves and put down extra paper to prevent cross contamination. They said that the cheese had gluten to prevent sticking, and used mayo packs too. I had no reaction later from the food.

Jimmy John’s does not offer any GF bread. However when I requested extra care when handling other items to avoid cross contamination, they were very mindful of that and I am very appreciative. I subbed a lettuce wrap for bread. Same great taste! JJ is something I’ve been missing since having to become GF.

They asked if the unwich was for allergy or preference. Cleaned the entire space before making my food. Clean utensils. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend!

Avoid the cheese, roast beef, and bread. Be aware of cross contamination. Best bet is an unwich

The price for the lettuce sandwich is just not worth it for me here. I could definitely make something just like it at home. There really isn’t a gluten-free option and I watched them cross contaminate as they made my sandwich.

The do not have gluten free bread. They have an unwich, so you can have any sandwich but in a lettuce wrap. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have always asked for them to change gloves when they make my food, every time they have done it. I also ask for no mayo to avoid and cross-contact. They put down extra sandwich wrap sheets to prevent cross-contact with the surface they use to make other sandwiches. I have celiac and never gotten sick from eating here.

The woman who filled my order was very careful and immediately asked me a couple of questions about cross contamination. She knew exactly what to do. Not all fast food places are so cautious.

This location is not celiac friendly! The manager, Josh, does not understand cross contamination. He was using the same tub Mayo that he had used for breaded sandwiches. He is also rude and unapologetic. Do not recommend
Update:
Here is the reply I received from corporate:
Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. We can not guarantee no cross-contamination will occur as we prep most of our meats, cheese and veggies in-house. We do what we can to provide safe sandwich-making environments, but we do not change out all products in the cold-table. I'm sorry for the frustration and your feedback is shared with our teams.
Best regards,
MICHAEL BASZIS

any of the sandwich options as an “unwhich” on lettuce. very pricey tho. cost $7 for one sandwich nothing else; little meat.

Unwhich is far superior to sandwhich bowls at all places. If you have celiac make sure to notify them and explain how nothing can be cross-contaminated; staff is very understanding and helpful.

JJ consistently is great about understanding the need to avoid gluten (I just tell them I have an allergy and they usually seem to get it) and change gloves, prepare carefully on a new paper surface as an un-wich (lettuce wrap). Thankfully haven’t had problems with CC. I also had the regular chips but be careful about the bbq chips. They have barley malt and I’m assuming that’s not safe!?

Stopped here on our way through Casper. I got an unwich and explained that I had an allergy and asked them to change gloves. They were nice and did what I asked and I didn’t get sick!

They are terrible at accommodating gf customers. Asked them to simply change their gloves and make my sandwich on paper like all the other Jimmy Johns do and they refused. In all the time arguing they could have just done it! Will not be back there.

Ordered an un-which. Informed them of allergy. Was sick within 15 minutes. Not gluten allergy friendly. But if you are just needing gluten free options without allergies then sure. Go for it.

They do not have gluten free bread, but they offer the Unwich lettuce wrap. They are very good about changing gloves and not using the same mayo spatula that they use for bread sandwiches.

I had been eating here for a year after I realized everything is made on the same board and the knife from the mayo is the same one used for bread sandwiches:/ Shouldn’t eat here anymore.

Okay in a pinch for a lettuce wrap, just check their online allergen menu carefully. Allergen menu states that their provolone cheese contained wheat.

The tuna salad is not gluten free. I didn’t check. I got it as an unwich but had stomach upset, so I looked it up and it has wheat in it. I definitely should have double checked, but beware! I never thought it would have wheat/gluten because it’s not a typical tuna salad ingredient.

Where to start??? Hmm..... how bout with the order taker who tried to charge me double. They do offer all of their sandwiches in a lettuce wrap however when I said I needed a totally gluten free sandwich and please use clean utensils and change your gloves, he neither indicated on my receipt nor said anything to the sandwich maker....strike one!! The actual sandwich maker made my sandwich on bread.... since my request was never mentioned!! Strike 2!! Third, they forgot my chips!! And to make the whole event a crappy experience they also put Mayo using the spatula that is generally smeared across someone else’s bread! I did not realize they put Mayo on the sandwich until I got home ! I ended up eating it anyway but will NEVER go back......I hate to be the p-a customer but I hate even more when people do not pay attention ! Word to the wise-watch these folks like a hawk!! They all look like they dropped out of high school anyway.

They offer their sandwiches as a lettuce wrapped "unwich" that are actually very good. I've gotten their original chips which were gf as well. Jimmy John's is probably my favorite sandwich place. Not sure if they use clean surfaces for preparation though, but I haven't gotten sick. Wouldn't recommend if you are very sensitive.

I adore the unwich! I usually get the club lulu and add shredded lettuce, onion cucumber, oil and vinegar! I did get the provolone cheese once and got sick ( different location) so steer clear of the provolone cheese! Anyways, they always do a phenomenal job of avoiding cross contamination.

Jimmy Johns is great they offer the sandwiches as lettuce wraps and they have great options. My fiancé with a gluten intolerance loves their tuna salad sandwich as an unwich, he hasn’t had a problem with it. If you have celiacs then I would probably question the staff about their cross contamination precautions.

I made the staff aware that I have celiac disease and they changed their gloves and set new papers along the counter; as well as, they got new topping containers from under the counter of all the toppings I wanted.

Most (maybe all?) of their unwhiches (lettuce wraps) are gluten free and very good! There is, of course, some risk of cross contamination, but having eaten there several times, I have never had a problem.
Everything is safe except for cheese, bread, barbecue chips, vinegar and salt chips, and maybe the ranch because they make it in house? I won't eat it. The meat is fine the vegetables are fine mayonnaise mustard vinegar oil oregano all of that I've tested with my name a sensor several times after unwitch is delivered and it's perfect. I really like the potato chips too!
Unfortunately they don’t use a dedicated space or utensils. It’s a super busy shop.
No
There are so many others that do have celiacs that cannot have gluten and it would be great if Jimmy John's would have gluten free options. It's really common. Something to think about. I love the sandwiches!

I called ahead to tell about Celiac needs and the girl who I talked to on the phone personally made my sandwich (she was working the register at the time)! She got out a GF cutting board for prep, and got all the ingredients for my sandwich out of the back so that there would be no cross-contamination... even including the sandwich wrapper paper!
Their nutritional information is readily available on their website to let patrons know which foods contain which top allergens!

Jimmy Johns has an allergen menu on their website detailing each sandwich component. I opted for a sandwhich on the “Unwich” aka lettuce wrap instead of bread. It wasn’t nearly as filling of course but it was delicious and good for a quick meal in a pinch!
Unwiches. Lettuce wrap and if you tell them you can’t even handle second hand contact they’ll change gloves and all
Yes
I’ve gotten sick multiple times. They don’t have a dedicated GF area. They change their gloves but then they use the same ingredients.
No
Everything is cross contaminated. They touch the bread and then stick their hand into the meat/veggies contaminating it all.
Told the person taking my order that I have a gluten allergy and he immediately said he would notify the person making my unwich and assured me that they would change gloves and utensils. Couldn’t have appreciated their attention and care more - especially after Jersey Mike’s across the street said they cannot confirm whether there is gluten in their deli meat.
