A large variety of GF options including warm dinner rolls (a rarity). Our sever was knowledgeable and all of the staff took precautions. Dinner was delicious!

Legal Sea Foods does NOT use beer batter in their fryers anymore so they have safe, dedicated GF fryers! I had the calamari & fried shrimp and had no issues. Such a joy to have fried food again!

This Legal Seafoods was amazing and consistent with my experience at a few other locations - many GF items, designated fryer, SO many options on the menu, and the manager brought out my plate to reassure me it was prepared as gluten free.

Went with a group of friends. Called ahead to confirm the dedicated GF fryer & the allergen protocols. She had them memorized and talked me through them from ordering to food being brought to the table. Had an incredible server whose first question when we ordered GF calamari was: is that an allergy or preference? She knew what celiac was. There were also dairy intolerances at the table and the server checked with the kitchen to confirm what was safe, even identifying butter in the Szechuan sauce! GF & DF dishes were brought to the table by a manager who announced what the dish was before setting it down. Overall excellent experience managing multiple allergies at a group table; great protocols. And the food was great! Had the calamari, lobster rolls on gf slider buns, and fish & chips. All delicious, all safe!

Huge variety on the menu with the classic precautions we’ve come to expect from Legal Seafoods when handling allergies. Gluten free bread, fried foods and delicious dinners in a lovely setting. The bar side feels spacious and lively.

Items that cam be made GF are marked on the menu. The server who brought my food confirmed everything was gluten free and said they had pan seared my salmon instead of grilling to avoid any risk. Everything tasted great and no ill effects.

Great experience. All their breading for frying is gluten-free, and everything that goes into the fryer is gluten-free. Our celiac kid chose the chicken tenders and fries and loved every bite.

Can I just. Take a moment. To say this is my favorite place to eat as a celiac. They have gluten free rolls (which do not cost extra!!!) and are probably some of the best I’ve had. The majority of their menu can be made gluten free (ALL OF THEIR FRIED FOOD IS GF) and they even have dedicated allergen runners that bring you your gluten free meal so that they do not touch other plates that contain foods with gluten. This is the safest place to eat by far as a celiac and every experience here has been amazing. I once had a waiter secretly pack me some gf dinner rolls to go because I told him they were the best I’ve ever had. Don’t get me wrong, the place is expensive; seafood in general is expensive. But this is one of the very few places where it is worth every penny.

Ordered the omelet, server explained the limitations. No buns were offered but extra lettuce was available. Servers made sure to ask and then specify whether it was an allergy or a preference. Omelet was good but gone too quickly. Only place I saw open at 7 AM.

We had a great dinner here. Our server was very knowledgeable -- actually shared that his nephew has Celiac and eats at LSF all the time. My daughter with Celiac disease ordered the Lobster Roll and they brought the lobster and three gluten free rolls. They also had a dedicated gf fryer so she was able to have french fries... always a big treat. I appreciated that they noted her dish was gluten free when it was delivered to the table. So happy!

Staff caring, thoughtful and concerned about Celiac concerns. From the seater, waiter, chef and manager, the experience at Boylston Ave., The Legal was an A+
The manager was requested by myself to go over safety issues for gluten free issues. The chef came out with the entrees which was reassuring. All dedication fryer questions were anzwered.
answered.
The previous beer batter had been removed two months previous. There no complications,no cross contaminations, and I am ultra reactive to gluten dust and airborne gluten. I had no problems and would highly recommend talking to the management should you be Celiac and have read any previous comments from an earlier timeframe.

Phenomenal seafood! Tons of options clearly marked on the menu. They also have gf rolls. I got the Fishermans Platter which was huge. It came with fish, scallops, shrimp and calamari. They were able to do “rhode island” style peppers and garlic on the side for the calamari. A must go to if you’re visiting or live in the area.

They no longer have gluten free rolls. Can’t get the lobster stuffed. They do have a separate gluten fryer. After we told waiter of gluten allergy he brought us regular rolls, good thing we always double check before eating. My celiac husband got sick. I also got sick and don’t have celiac. Cocktails were mediocre. Better places to try in Boston in my opinion.

I was really excited to eat here because of the great reviews. I came for the lobster roll and ended up getting sick. They were out of the gf lobster roll bun so it came on two mini sliders that were old and hard. The lobster itself was very good. The server said the fries could be made in a separate fryer, so that was also a plus. All in all, ok food, overpriced and be careful if you have celiacs!
