I am so thankful for this place. We traveled out of town, and I searched on here for gluten free places. There was a decent amount of reviews for Meatheads, but nothing super recent. When I got there, I told him I had celiac. He told me that they have a dedicated fryer just for gluten free fries. The gluten free bun was as expected, didn’t have too much crumbling, and wasn’t so dry I needed a drink after each bite. The fries were incredible, and you get so many. It felt great to order food and feel a little normal. I loved being able to enjoy fries with my burger. Would highly recommend!

Awesome experience. Christian took our order and understood exactly what I needed as a person with Celiac. Delicious burger and fries, felt safe, and would definitely come back if we ever travel through the area again. Many thanks!

The #1 problem seems to be that they insist on toasting all the damned buns on their grill. Thus, even the meat can be cross-contaminated even if you don't order a bun. The Udi's buns are fine of course, except those also get toasted on the same grill as everything else. The other issue is it depends which manager is on duty how careful or not they are. Most of the cook staff are workers with little training.
We have eaten here quite a few times, but occasionally been noticably contaminated. The order-taking staff are usually very good about GF and will mark the order as "gluten allergy" but that doesn't matter a lot with the above problems.

They are very knowledgeable and understood my concerns. I had a burger and fries with a gluten free bun. No issues. I get sick very easily with CC. I was nervous as crap but it was delicious and it had been forever since I had French fries that I didn’t make myself.

Good place! GF Buns and dedicated gf fryer. Friendly staff. Staff even came over to our table to see how I liked my GF bun (which was, admittedly, falling apart) and to seek feedback on what they could do to improve it.

Been glutened multiple times here (i know). Multiple times found hair in food. And what’s worse, they toast the buns on the meat grill and don’t really clean in between even when you ask. They only know gluten allergy and don’t understand celiac

My sister & I enjoyed a late dinner as we traveled east. Both need gluten free and we're assured would not be a problem. We had hamburgers on tasty GF buns. French fries are cut fresh daily and have a designated frier. They serve shakes versus malts. All very good and no adverse reactions. Clean and wonderful service.

Meatheads was awesome. Separate fryer and stove for burgers + fries. Fries were very tasty and they gave you a large portion. Burger was also good but the GF bun did fall apart. Overall, very pleased with this place and their precautions they take!

I had lunch here today after visiting a local quilt shop! I had a junior burger and fries on a gluten free bun. There was a $2 up charge for the gluten free bun, but is was well worth it! The French fries were awesome and the bun held together without crumbling like some do! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My friends not needing gluten free also enjoyed their lunches. Most had burgers, but one had chicken tenders which she really enjoyed!

The hamburgers are amazing! Gluten free bun that is tasty, holds together fairly well, and you can mix your toppings to make your personal favorite burger. They have a dedicated fryer for fries so no worry about cross contamination. Cute burger joint!

I've eaten here multiple times (signature burger and regular fries), and they seem knowledgeable about gluten sensitivity and cross-contamination. I have never gotten sick from this restaurant, and it's an added bonus that the staff are always very friendly and the food is delicious!!

Yes! They put my order as Allergy and made everything separate! Their fries are gluten free and you can request for gluten free bun! They took all the precautions! I also tested with my gluten free sensor(NIMA) and everything was gluten free!

I have Celiac Disease and I ate here and I got sick. I even explained that everything needed to be cooked separately and they clearly did not cook something separately because within a matter of hours I was having cramping and then other tell tale symptoms. More than 24 hours later I’m still experiencing symptoms. This is an unsafe place for those of us with Celiac Disease.

Be careful - they grill all the bread (incl GF) on the same cooktop unless you say something. Also, the cashier told me the onion rings were GF - good thing I inquired further or we would have been severely glutened :( I prob won’t go back.

I let the cashier know that it was my first time, and we needed to do gluten free, and she helped us choose burgers. I asked for the GF bun, then saw the caramel apple “pie” shake. I asked it that would be okay for gluten free, and she didn’t know. I asked if they could just leave out any crust stuff and she said sure. The shake came with crust sprinkled on top, and my boyfriend’s burger came with the regular bun.
I walked in and just asked about the gluten free options they were clueless. Guy said he would “check if the fries are gluten free. He said they would “try to be careful” Bc the Cajun seasoning can cross contaminate. I left and didn’t order anythjng. They were not knowledgeable at all .
Been to Meatheads countless times. Only thing in the frier is French fries so 100% safe. Now they have Udis gluten free buns. Never been sick and love a good burger and fries. I’ll be back....

GF buns and dedicated fryer. Easy choice

Lettuce-wrapped buns or Udi’s buns. Staff are knowledgable about celiac. The Cajun fries have gluten but the regular fries are gluten-free, and they always separate my husband’s Cajun fries so that they don’t touch mine. Fries are made in a dedicated fryer so no cross-contamination.

Gluten free buns, employees even let us check the ingredients on the Cajun seasoning. Both my daughter and husband are Celiac and neither got sick. The food was overall pretty good. We were actually at the one in Normal, but couldn't find that location in the app.

I have been here quite a few times and the love that they ensure the french fries are gluten-free, fried in a separate fryer, and also provide a gluten-free bun (which is a bit oversized) with their burgers. They always ask if it is an allergy or a preference (I just say allergy because trying to explain is more info than they want haha) and make sure to note that on the ticket. Fortunately, I’ve never had any issues. I’m not ultra sensitive though.
Yes
love meatheads! dedicated fryer for fries, they note “gluten allergy” when you place your order. I usually just get the lettuce wrap but they also have gf buns now! best grilled chicken sandwiches!
