BEWARE!!! I ordered a gluten free take out and they sent me home with a normal pizza and I got glutened with one accidental bite and got very sick. Make sure to double triple check that they are being careful. I don’t trust them at this point and can’t even imagine about their cross contamination.

Idk why people don’t talk about this place more, out of all the pizza places in Santa Barbara this one is by far the best. They were very knowledgeable about everything gluten free and put in a lot of effort to make sure I felt safe eating there. They contacted the chef and let the kitchen know about the “allergy” and for anyone wondering it is COMPLETELY separate from all the other gluten. They offer many options for pizza types as well as 2 different sizes of pizza crust which was great. And not to mention the food was amazing gluten and gluten free. All around great restaurant and highly recommend visiting. P.S price point is a little high

It is a really good pizza! I tried the margherita. The only bad thing is it took a while to be brought to our table. I read here there is cross contamination, I did not check that. I actually read it after I had eaten.

The gluten free crust isn’t well marked on the menu, but I knew it was there and I asked (I couldn’t even find it on the menu actually). The pizza was good, tasted like gluten free crust (not amazing but not bad), and the pizza is very customizable which is fun. Good location and many other non-gluten options for my fellow diners. I would go again!

I have eaten here many times and never gotten sick (note: i am an extremely sensitive celiac). If you are clear with them, they will ensure the space is clean and no cross contamination. They use their oven too cook the GF pizza (not in fire oven) on a pan dedicated for their gluten free crust. I will note that the only pizzas that can be made on GF crust are the thin crust. These are the only items i have guaranteed to be safe for celiac. This is one of my favorite pizzas EVER!!!

I’ve loved their food for years, but it seems they’re not doing enough to manage cross-contamination. I had a bad systemic reaction the last time I had one of their GF pizzas (tomato/basil/mozzarella).

Their precautions that I know of: pre-made crust on its own pan. Shared kitchen, shared utensils (e.g. for tomato sauce), shared oven.

I was comfortable with their cross contamination precautions but it didn’t sound like they have a dedicated gluten free kitchen area. GF pizza crusts are purchased from another vendor.

The reason for low stars is because of the taste. Toppings were decent but the crust is one of the poorest I’ve ever had. Reminds me of a Domino’s cardboard box taste and texture kind of a crust but with a very high price point. Clearly others loved it though so maybe they changed their crust or perhaps it’s just not my kind of pizza.

Staff was very careful to prevent cross contamination. Very tasty... reviewed too soon I guess. Sick as heck. Some kind of significant cross contamination. Sadness. I loved this place.

Returned another time, had no problems on the second visit. So, this place is hit and miss for celiacs.

GF pizza was yummy. I highly recommend the artichoke dip. They offered gf bread to go along with the appetizer(which was just a plain pizza crust). We ordered appetizer and 14” gf pizza. Plenty for two people and left overs. Would definitely visit again.

I am celiac and have ordered gluten free pizza from here. I know gluten free dough is hard but theirs get really hard quickly. I can't say if they have a dedicated space for gluten free pizza. The toppings we're good but didn't love the crust.

Patxi’s Pizza has gf thin crust. Knowledgeable servers reviewed the process and assured us it’s safe (with usual caveats about not being a gluten free kitchen). We had vegan gf thin crust cheese and gf vegan classic veggie thin crust. Tested crust and sauce with Nima tester and it passed. Pizza tastes great too.

I know someone who works here and they told me the gluten free pizzas do not have a separate space. They share the same spot in the oven cooking with the other regular pizzas. Wouldn’t recommend if you are celiac or have a severe gluten allergy

Started of promisingly but my Coeliac wife was served a regular Gluten containing base after ordering GF and telling the server she was Coeliac. If you do eat here double check when your pizza comes out!

I do not recommend this location. I asked several questions, and was not satisfied with their answers. The 3 people I talked to didn't know what celiac was, and they use the same cutter for GF and regular pizzas. They said they wipe it off in between with a rag, but when they held up the rag, it was covered in flour.

Best gluten free pizza I have found. Tastes more like they make it themselves. A lot of pizza places obviously buy the same crusts from somewhere that are..meh. Now if Patxi’s can only make their deep dish GF.... sigh, I can dream.

Great gf pizza and caesar no croutons with anchovies. The bottom of the crust looks like the closest thing to glutened pizza I've seen and it is light, not too chewy and the end bits are tasty. It's a beer and wine place but they have Angry Orchard, so life could be worse.

Keep in mind that you are in San Francisco and things. just. move. more. slowly. here. I asked for a small ramikan of marinara with my pizza. It took 22 minutes to reach me. If I wanted it cold I could have gotten it after about 10 minutes. Apparently, they dont have a large pot of the bubbling goodness in the back. So. Ok. But 22 mins? Not sure why it was that hard and certainly a reasonable ask given it's a pizza joint. That said, the pizza is really good if you are seeking gf pizza in SFO. Def in my top 3 thus far.

The ambiance is laid back and neighborhoody. This is not on a main drag. Come along or with a party. It is a family-friendly establishment.

Love Patxis! Delicious gluten-free pizza - now offered in two sizes - and they’ll even serve the artichoke dip with gluten-free pizza crust if requested (to substitute the crostinis). They also have Angry Orchard Cider. Love their food, friendly and prompt service and great place for lunch, dinner or to catch a sports game.

Paxti's actually takes care now to say that they do not prevent cross-contamination. I used to be able to eat here without noticable side effects, but the last two times I became incredibly sick. However, I have increasingly become more sensitive to low amounts of gluten. I wouldn't risk it anymore and would encourage anyone who gets severe symptoms to stay away.

This is one of the Patxi's locations that has gluten-free options (including an awesome GF pizza crust.) GF options are called out on the menu, but you can also make some things safe with minor alterations (no crutons on salads, ask to get the bread on the Burrata appetizer replaced with a GF pizza crust, etc.) Be aware that the sausage contains wheat but the rest of the meats are fine.
