Went here my first night in London with a friend, hadn’t tried the chain before but was very impressed by its information on its allergen menu (no loose gluten flour in the kitchen!) and its accreditation by Coeliac UK - got dough balls and the vegan pizza to split, it was all really good and felt really safe :)

Pizza express is always great for gluten free everywhere, it’s my go to. Lots of options. Dough balls are great. Every pizza can be done on their gluten free base which is a really good one. If you get the app you get lots of money off.

Staff were very friendly and very accommodating to my gluten intolerance. They serve GF pizza on a black board so there’s no chance of it being mistaken for a gluten-containing pizza. It tastes really good!

Always brilliant for my kids (both coeliac). The flour in store is. gf and all pizzas cooked separately.
Just wish they did a GF garlic bread. The GF dough balls are better than the regular ones.

The staff was very friendly and also without a reservation we were able to get a table. No seperate gluten-free menu, but there are many meals which can be prepared gluten-free. The gluten-free-meals were served on a special coloured plate (black in our case) to seperate it from the non-gf-food. We had Pizza - and they were very delicious. Non of us got any food reaction (the coeliac normally do immediately).

Went for lunch. The whole chain is accredited by Coeliac UK, and they were focused and alert to what was needed.
Good selection of options for GF across the menu and no price premium. Staff were knowledgeable and apart from the pizza being less crisp (I would have suspected it might have been baked in a tray to avoid cross-contamination) everything else was as per the Pizza Express experience.

I was sadly disappointed with my pizza. I had the bbq chicken pizza and it was paper thin with barely any topping. Not worth the money. I would also have liked to be able to select the vegan cheese on a gf pizza but it wasnt possible.

Excellent experience. My daughter had GF options of everything her friends were eating (dough balls, pizza, brownie). Staff knowledgeable and helpful. Staff explained GF food should always come out on a certain colour plate (I think it was black) so you know you have the right food.

Came here twice while in London because the GF dough balls al forno were just that good - got a salad (fantastic, with lots of toppings) the first time and GF pasta the second. While dishe did not come out marked, each waiter made sure to verbally confirm items were gluten free when delivering to the table. I believe the pizzas do come out on a special black tray to designate they are gluten free. Great selection of GF desserts as well

Staff were very helpful as my daughter is Coeliac. Great choice having dough balls to start, pizza and then ice cream to finish. All gluten free items come out on a black board means you know they acknowledged your dietary requirements.

Good pizza, have eaten her several times both at the restaurant as well as had delivered. A bit expensive for its small gf pizza base but they got a large variety of toppings and sauces.
I had the bbq smoked spicy chicken.
Staff was helpful and took my allergy seriously!

I’ve been to this restaurant twice since being GF. The first time was absolutely fine - the standard you would expect of Pizza Express which I find to be great in terms of options and safety. The second time, some sort of cross contamination occurred as I was seriously ill by the time I arrived home and continued to be for a week. I am glad I was not served gluten as it would have been longer, but I was shocked that this happened at all because the server was very understanding and marked everything in my order down as an allergy. Disappointed to say the least. It has also shaken my faith a tiny bit for Pizza Express, somewhere I usually feel very safe going. Also, slightly unrelated, I was served plain butter with my GF dough balls as opposed to garlic…🙃

Great experience. Nice selection of gluten free pizzas compared to the normal gluten pizza menu. Staff bring out the pizza on a black board, to distinguish from normal pizzas. Nice texture to the pizza dough.

There were a surprisingly high amount of gluten free options here! Most pizzas could be ordered gluten free and even the dough balls could. The crust tasted great and fresh and the pizza as a whole was amazing. The staff were also very nice and accommodating with everything. All in all this was an amazing place!

On the corner of Bridge Street and Bridge Avenue, standing the test of time, Pizza Express Maidenhead has maintained its position of a top pizzaria for many years, whilst other places have been and gone.
The music is sometimes a bit too loud, however the service is great and the food always impeccable.
Comparing to other branches of Pizza Express, the Maidenhead branch is always the better option than other branches in nearby towns.

I had a bad experience with this branch as I told the manager I was gluten free when we arrived and again ensured the waiter knew when we were seated. Despite this the waiter brought me a plate of normal dough balls, and I double checked with him and he went away and came back, gave me a thumbs up. Three or four minutes later my wife’s dough balls came out and he put them down and said gluten free. I had eaten two normal ones at this point and he showed barely any remorse for it. Keep an eye out when dining here.

Gustavo Woltmann. When the pizza arrived, it was a feast for the senses. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, providing the ideal foundation for the bubbling cheese and vibrant toppings. The symphony of flavors, from the sweetness of the tomatoes to the aromatic basil, danced on my palate with each bite.

A great experience with our Coeliac daughter here. The children’s menu has fully GF options for all courses (the pizza was very small compared to Zizzi, where you get a full adult’s size GF pizza base with the children’s set meal, therefore it might be a better option to eat there for hungry teens etc). GF dough balls with garlic butter were a hit for the starter. There is a free babycino and the GF brownies were given the thumbs up. The waitress explained that they use rice flour to roll out all dough (including muggle) so there isn’t flour in the air/contaminating other areas. They are Coeliac UK approved.
