Easy choice for gf needs. Btw if it's labeled G it HAS gluten vs what some may expect that if it's labeled G it's gluten free. I almost ordered focaccia thinking it was gf until my husband pointed out that it was G for has gluten.

Went here for lunch and had an amazing experience. I mentioned what I was ordering and my celiac to the person at the counter and she immediately went into action. She double and triple checked everything and made sure she source ingredients in ways that avoided cc. When I thank d her for being so thorough, she mentioned she was a manager in training and she was grateful for the experience of how to handle an allergy. She was so careful, and then went on to thank ME! Amazing service and the food was really really good!

So many gluten free protein bowls and salads. So good

Sweetgreen is another one of our go-to fast casual chains. The staff consistently rock it. They always know the ingredients in everything and what is and isn’t safe. They also seem mindful when scooping toppings to ensure none drop into the wrong bin and cause cross contamination of ingredients (not just gluten). They’ll change gloves on request. I don’t even like salads, and I love this place. Highly recommend!

The team at Sweetgreen is amazing! I ate there once a week before my celiac diagnosis and am going even more often now. There are less than a handful of gluten-containing ingredients on the menu and they will wash hands/change gloves to ensure there is no cross contamination. Lots of healthy and yummy options!

Best healthy place i’ve ever been to. Every staff member was knowledgeable about gluten and the food is very safe. The menu has a ton of labels to know what is safe and the managers have to make allergy food so if you mention a gluten free diet they will take you seriously.

Always a positive experience ordering here. They do have non GF ingredients but I consider the cross contact pretty low risk for myself. They change gloves no questions asked. I get the Harvest Bowl (with blackened chicken) and I’ve never had a reaction. Note their menu marks what DOES contain gluten with a G (rather than the typical labeling of GF items) so be careful when you order.

DO NOT EAT HERE. I told the rude lady there I had a gluten allergy and she said everything is gluten free besides the croutons. She didn’t change her gloves (I saw her grab croutons with her hands) and when I asked her to make sure the chicken was gluten free she got frustrated and she said all that was in it was “oil and spices”. The cc is high too since the gluten items are next to the gluten free items. I am sick because of this place.

Love sweetgreen! Their gluten containing ingredients are towards the end of the assembly line so I ask them to change their gloves to start and ask them to get new containers for things that are after the gluten containing ingredients to avoid cc. I love sweetgreen! I typically get the Crispy Rice bowl as it’s gluten and dairy free. It’s a build your own salad/bowl chain with lots of gluten free and other allergen friendly options. Their app is also great because you can select your allergens and they will tell you what bowls contains which allergens! I am not celiac and not worried about cross contamination. If you are worried about that, there may be possible cross contamination as it’s a assembly line similar to chipotle and I do not know their switching out of serving utensils policy, but I haven’t never gotten sick

I’ve always enjoyed Sweet Green. The only ingredients with gluten are the zaatar breadcrumbs and the bread. They are good about washing their hands and changing gloves when asked. I like that I can watch them make my salad. I always check to see what ingredients are near the breadcrumbs and ask that they not include those ingredients.

I have eaten at many Sweet Green locations over the past decade and have never had a problem

I would not order ahead or get delivery from here though because you cannot see how your salad is made.

A previous reviewer expressed concern over the forks. From what I was able to research, they should be fine, and I can say that I’ve never had a problem using them.

This is one of my favorite fast casual restaurants ever! There is very little gluten used in the bowls (just a couple have breadcrumbs) and they’re really good about changing gloves and switching out tongs to mix up your salad. So healthy and delicious!

My salad with super tasty an amazing.

First person who help me, didn’t quite seem to understand the gluten-free situation.

Second person, understood, better, and explained that the gluten containing items are the very last thing that goes on the salads or bowls in the assembly line. Everything to that point is safe.

Keep an eye on them, though, because they almost toss my salad, with a set of tongs that had only been rinsed and not fully washed.

I recommend that you ask them to skip this step. If I hadn’t been paying attention, that would’ve been super sad.

I explained to the person behind the counter I was celiac and asked what was gluten free. There was a bit of a language barrier and she did not understand the question. I asked a different staff member who also did not understand. The third staff member understood and I asked her what the “G” listed next to the menu items meant. Was it gluten free or did it have gluten. She didn’t know. Finally a manager came out and I asked her. She said it meant that item had gluten. I asked what my options were. She said,”I cannot guarantee there is no cross contamination here. I just can’t”. I unfortunately went someplace else.

Unlike other restaurants, Sweetgreen marks items that have gluten, versus those that are gluten free. A bit different, so I asked if what I ordered was gluten free. The server confirmed.

This is one of those "go down the counter" types of restaurants where they make it in front of you. The server asked me at end if I wanted bread, so they may have some additional education to do.

Might be a different experience dining in, but my take out order that I specified gluten free for came with a huge piece of bread on top. So just might need to be extra explicit with them. I have eaten at another one of their locations in Chicago and didn’t have any problem with that location.
