Worked with Gluten Intolerance Group on their gluten-free menu. Special training is required for staff.
I literally had to remind the waiter over and over that I was gluten free. He added beer to the cheese sauce. Brought me teriyaki sauce, And a plate full of gluten for dessert. Not impressed. Not to mention no awareness about cross contamination. I don’t like being that girl that asks over and over, but tonight it was necessary! I’m sure if you had a knowledgeable waiter or waitress the experience would be amazing as there are tons of options!

We had good experiences here for gluten free food for Celiac daughter in the past but today we had a terrible experience. My husband repeatedly told them to bring GF food and my celiac daughter noticed a piece of pasta in her garden veggie pot. They said it was gluten pasta and made her a new one. But now she does not feel safe eating here ever again. Very disappointing.

This is not only one of my favorite chains, but my favorite store in the chain.
Before I say anything else, I have to admit that I did get sick here once. As someone else noted, they have gluten free brownies as part of the dessert dipper, but once a server gave me regular brownies by mistake. Because a regular brownie looks and tastes pretty much the same as the GF version, we didn't realize until I had eaten several bites, at which point the waiter--who had realized his mistake--ran up to the table, saw the brownies had been eaten, and went pale. I ended up sick for 6 weeks as a result of that incident.
The reason this Melting Pot is my favorite and the reason I eat there much more often than I did before the incident is because of how they handled it. First, the manager waved all the charges for our table that night (about $175). Then he gave me a $100 gift card as an apology. Later, I learned the resturant had held a staff training about handling gluten free food and such to make sure this didn't happen again.
Since that one incident, I've had no problems and always had a wonderful experience. I have tried other Melting Pot branches and not seen the kind of care and concern I can now expect at the West Madison branch.
Love this place!

They have many gluten free options. I was especially pleased they had gluten free brownies and pieces of cake for the chocolate fondue. Also they have gluten free bread for the cheese fondue. Our servers have always been very knowledgeable. I’d say be willing to ask for a more knowledgeable server if you need to or ask for one when you make the reservation. I’ve personally never had an issue and have had multiple different servers. One of the managers always makes it a point to talk to us and ask how our meal is. I highly recommend going here for a special night out! It can be pretty expensive though

I have eaten here a few times and each time has been Awesome! The staff is well informed on what is and isn't gluten free. They have lots of gluten free options. Since the cake and a few other items on the dessert tray were not gluten free they substitute them for other yummy foods like pineapple and even added extra. EVERYTHING was sooooooo good I wish I could eat there regularly if it wasn't do pricey.

The food was great, and they even had vegan cheese and chocolate (I can’t eat dairy). I could hardly tell that the cheese was vegan. The waiter was very knowledgeable and let me know that some of the gluten free dippers (bread and desserts) had dairy in them. I tested everything with my Nima sensor and it all came up gluten free. I’m very sensitive and I didn’t get sick.

Dinner at the Melting Pot is always a special occasion. Our first attempt since hubby had to go GF. Excited to see their GF certification. Getting rid of Resbridge….bring it back, please! Still tons of options. I was brought non GF dippers, so we were careful on either using a spoon and dipping off my plate or waiting till he had finished to add my non GF items. May want to both go GF if that’s easier for you. Stayed healthy!!

We have not been in awhile, and first time without the kids. My wife is gluten intolerant. They have a GF service certification on the door. Not sure what that means, but I can say this is the most GF conscious menu we have ever sseen. Everything detailed for what is safe and not. My wife does not recall having gf bread dippers last time. We were very comfortable with server knowledge. The food was delicious, great experience. Actually the cost was pretty good for an upscale experience.
Note for GF. There are only a few items not GF and they can all be substituted or modified incl dippers. We just did 100%gf for the two of us, so that way there is no opty for accidetntal cross contamination at your table. I am not gf and found the whole meal excellent with gf options. That would be on you and your party, not the restaurant. Even moreso if you have a big group. The worse fear that some have is gf bread. But you are smothering it in cheese, rally no issue and tastes great as a dipper.
One shortfall is that we were doing entirely gf for the two of us, but server still brought out teriyaki sauce and was good to inform us that was only gluten sauce, but she should have kept that one in the kitchen. I did give the teriyaki a try since it was there, and did not care for it. Again, stick to the gf options, and your party will be just fine. If they are clamoring for gluten because they somehow feel slighted, there is plenty of wheat based beers they can enjoy, and the crew is all the better for it, not risking being glutened and friendships. : - )

Wife is celiac. We told the waiter she had celiac and we needed the gluten free options. He confidently said he was happy we told him, but he kept bringing things to the table with gluten. He brought teriyaki sauce and all the glutened dippers. The wife is currently fighting off glutening, so we can only assume that there was cross contamination.

Shawn was a lovely server. He explained how all surfaces are wiped clean before preparing gluten free dishes. Started with Wisconsin Cheese fondu with GF bread, veggies and apple, it was delicious. Next was coq au vin fondu with chicken, steak and tuna, all great. Followed by milk chocolate fondu with GF dippers. Everything was delicious.

My husband and I just had a wonderful "Thursdate" experience last night. When making the reservation I indicated I had celiac disease, and the host who seated us also asked about "food allergies." I also heard her ask others as they were walking to their tables, so it reassured me food safety is a priority.
The server explained they were prepared to split the fondue into 2 pots with separate dippers, but we clarified that we would both rather eat GF to prevent any cross contamination at the table. The server knowledgeably participated in this conversation and agreed it was safer for me if we both ate GF. Just wanted to let others know their options before going.
We had a fantastic meal. The menu items were clearly listed as GF and our server was completely familiar with the GF subs. The bread dippers looked so good I wasn't sure if they could really be GF but all was well and delicious too. Even the dessert fondue included GF brownie and cookie dippers.

Staff was extremely extremely knowledgeable, told the waiter once I’m celiacs didn’t have to mention it again. When I tried to order something not gluten free he told me exactly what in it made it not gluten free safe! And suggested something different. They had gluten free bread dippers, and gluten free brownies, we requested apples for the chocolate and they happily obliged. Got the steak and they let you sub the teriyaki one for either of the other two. 10/10 would recommend this place!

Made reservations ahead of time annotating gluten-free requirements. On seating, discussed with waiter and ordered gluten-free menu offerings and substitutes. First course cheese fondu was served with wheat bread; sent back for gluten-free bread. Main course fondu was brought with teriyaki sauce (identified by waiter to have gluten) served in same sauce bowl caddy immediately adjacent to / side-by-side with gluten-free sauces (high concern for cross contamination). For the dessert fondu, low level of trust that brownies were gluten-free. This experience was the exact opposite of dining event in January (which was outstanding).

This has become me and my husband’s favorite place for celebratory meals. I’ve never had any issues after eating here. I will say that I always double check that each entree brought out is GF, and that occasionally the kitchen will send out the non-GF dessert tray, but they are always very accommodating with taking it back (and usually my waiter has noticed it before giving it to me).

Our experience was great! I was with a group and I am the only one GF. The others in the group enjoyed the GF options as well. Things are clearly marked on the menu and substitutions were easy. Our server said she just hits the GF button and it automatically substitutes. She even asked the cook staff to prep our veggies and fruits separately since the containers are close together to prevent CC. We had several options for dessert including GF brownies, fruits, marshmallows, and rice crispie treats. The other in the party got pound cake as well and just dipped fondue out with a spoon rather than dipping. I did not feel like I missed out on the experience at all and it was delicious. I had no reactions. I highly recommend.

Second visit to this location and both times it has been awesome! Eating out is pretty scary with celiac disease but the Validated Gluten Free Safe Spot gives us a lot of confidence! I made reservations for my boyfriend and I for a Friday night and made sure to note the gluten free option. When we arrived the server was aware and went over how the menu would change (gluten free beer and gluten free bread for the cheese option, no croutons and gluten free salad options, ect). During the main portion of the meal regular pasta was brought out and he went to work replacing the meat options since cross contact happened. It wad a great meal and would definitely go back. Since being Celiac I had gotten take out (cheese and chocolate option) and that was a great experience too.

Had a fun tasty meal. I brought my own udi's baguette precubed. I should have brought some GF brownies, cookies, or cake. I think that the restaurant could offer some of these items, but at least u can bring it in. Only one burner per table for four, so everyone eating will have to eat gluten free!

Stated multiple times that we need to be gluten free for celiac. Waitress recommended food that wasn’t gluten free which was a red flag. Meat comes out and non-gluten free sauces are on the tray. We left at that point but sick from the cheese and gluten free dippers. They supposedly have the gluten intolerance certification but the training doesn’t seem to go to the entire staff so beware of cross contamination.

Excellent experience! As long as your party agrees to choose from the gluten free options (GF clearly marked on menu and there are a lot of options), then your meal will be very safe and delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable on how to prepare our food. The candied nuts in my Caesar salad were delicious, the Memphis style dry rub pork was our favorite meat, and they provided specialty gluten free items (Gf cookie) to dip in the chocolate fondue. Great dinner!
