Great experience here. Melting Pots are certified by the Gluten Intolerance Group, so we feel confident that it’s a safe place to eat. We came for dessert, told the wait staff that we had celiac so needed gluten free and she was sure to get us what we needed. There are lots of tasty gluten free choices! We had gf brownies and snickerdoodle cookies, two different chocolate fondues and lots of fruit.
My family ate here for a birthday party and I was treated like royalty by Matthew the waiter. He was knowledgeable about what I could eat and made great substitutions when I needed too. I had the Wisconsin 3 cheese fondu and had veggies and gf bread to dip. I had vegetable broth with steak, duck and chicken to dip in many delicious sauces. I had milk chocolate and peanut butter with marshmallows, brownie and cookies to dip. All was safely gf and I did not get sick at all. It was a very satisfying experience .
They explained that they have a dedicated cutting board and knife for their gluten free products along with changing gloves often. For cheese fondue they can substitute the base that has beer in it for a vegetable broth. They have gluten free bread to dip into the cheese along with tortilla chips(by request), celery, tomatoes, carrots and apples. They can leave off croutons for salads. For entree they allowed us to substitute the teriyaki sirloin and mushroom pasta for different proteins. They were able to make sauce trays without the teriyaki glaze and we got more green goddess, since that's our favorite. For the Chocolate fondue we made sure to stay away from the cookies and cream (oreos) and smores (Graham crackers) for the chocolate selections. We love the flaming turtle! To dip into the chocolate fondue they gave us plain marshmallows, instead of the oreo covered marshmallows, along with GF brownies and GF snickerdoodle cookies plus bananas, strawberries and pineapple. It's so much food and it's so delicious. Perfect for a date night. The only thing you need to worry about would be the other people you're eating with. If they are still ordering regular bread and someone decides to dip their bread in the GF cheese that you're eating then it would leave crumbs and contaminate it with gluten. Even entree and chocolate can be cross contaminated by gluten products if not careful. I would suggest the entire table be completely gluten free or eat with people that aren't going to poison you. Overall, fun and interactive!
my experience here was wonderful! I came for KC restaurant week, and that entailed a four course meal. Everything was marked GF on the menu accordingly, and the staff took extra precautions for cross contamination. The first was cheese and vegetables, and they have GF bread available. The second course was salads, again with GF options; the third was meats and our waiter was very knowledgeable about which sauces were and were not GF (avoid the teriyaki steak / teriyaki sauce) and swapped out the gluten options for extra gluten free items.
the dessert fondue options were EXTENSIVE - fruit (obviously), GF brownies, GF snickerdoodles, banana/date bites - sooo good and SO MUCH FOOD.
our waiter was amazing, it was a fun first-time experience, and I did not get sick!
Had a rough experience to begin with here and not sure why. They have also changed their hours so best to call ahead. Was really looking forward to this eating here but after making our order to my surprise it came out with regular bread for the cheese fondue. Although the rest of the meal was fine and they came back out with gf bread (probably Udi’s not sure) I felt it was unsafe! Next they came out with the main course and the sauces and that was sent back because they included teriyaki not gf! There are very few things on the menu that are gf! My daughter who lives in another state tried it too and it was bad news for her too! If you eat here be prepared! Our servers were nice and not sure what happened but will have second thoughts about eating here again unfortunately because I have some very fond memories
I love the melting pot. They take gluten free seriously here and have a large number of gluten free features. They even have mock tails that are marked gluten free. There is gluten free bread to dip in cheese, plenty of steak options, chicken and shrimp and vegetables. And gluten free brownies and snickerdoodles to dip in the chocolate.
Got served gluten containing bread after ordering GF (celiac). Would have eaten it if I didn’t ask to double check. Poor, slow service for a premium price. Maybe other locations are better but won’t return here.
The Melting Pot is a great dining experience for anyone who is gluten free. Everything is clearly marked on the menu, from the drinks, to cheese fondue, salads, entrees, and chocolate/desserts. I’ve been here twice in the last week for two separate occasions. The staff is trained very well in terms of the GF diet and are extremely friendly. Most of the cheeses are already GF or can be made GF upon request. They will also bring you GF bread for dipping along with the veggies when serving the cheese. For the salads, you just need to ask to remove the croutons on those which come with them. For entrees, they offer substitutions for any non-GF items that may come on your plate. I really like to sub out the teriyaki steak for the brown sugar bourbon steak. The chocolate is the same as the cheese, where most are already GF. There are some though, such as the cookie butter chocolate fondue, that cannot be made GF. However, as mentioned, everything is clearly labeled on the menu. They also bring out GF cookies for dipping in the chocolate along with many other naturally GF dippers such as fruit and marshmallows. The only issue I ran into was with the sauces for the entrees, which come included with your meal. During my second visit here, they brought me the teriyaki dipping sauce, which is NOT gluten free. This did not happen during my dining experience earlier in the week. I’m just glad I caught it before I used it. Make sure to clarify that you would like ONLY GF sauces for the entrees. As for overall safety, the kitchen is mostly great with bringing you everything GF. The main safety issue lies with those you dine with. If you go out to eat with non-GF people and use the same pot/grill top, you are are risk for cross-contact. They need to be very careful that they don’t put regular bread or gluten-containing entrees/desserts in the same pot/on the same grill that you will be using. This was an issue for me when I came with a big group of people, but was much more manageable when I came with my partner. With my partner, we made everything gluten free for safety and convenience. The only other thing to say about this restaurant is that while it’s delicious and extremely filling, it’s also very expensive. The complete experience for two feels worth the money, but ordering à la carte can get extremely expensive very quickly. Overall though, I recommend for anyone looking for an extremely nice GF dining experience.
I enjoyed the 4 course meal here! It was really good. The server was very informed about gluten-free and took my celiac seriously. She ensured to change out the base of the fondue when necessary & ensure all the dippers were gf. Would recommend- didn’t get sick & was yummy!
I had an okay experience. Everything is labeled and the waiter seemed relatively knowledgeable. We did however receive dessert with gluten containing items that had to be replaced and they ran out of gf bread which they neglected to tell us until we had already ordered. Because we’re vegetarian there wasn’t much else to eat with the cheese course. Overall I would not return because I think there may be some lack of communication between waitstaff and the kitchen.
This was my first time trying fondue and I cannot say enough about the great experience I had here. There are an enormous number of gluten-free options and the servers are well trained about Celiac Disease. Some of them even have Celiac themselves. Ours guided us step-by-step through a four course meal (cheese fondue with GF bread, salad, main course fondue with multiple dipping sauces, and dessert fondue). Everything was delicious but the dessert course was out of this world! The dippers for the chocolate included celiac safe snickerdoodle cookies, chocolate brownies, marshmallows, strawberries, and bananas. It was a feast! It’s pricey but for a special occasion or just a-la-carte, I highly recommend you go.
My third experience here and the best yet. The waiter was knowledgeable. Everything came separately and my family worked out a system so that we could share the fondue evenly. The bread was good "sourdough" and the chocolate fondue dippers were varied. Overall a great experience.

Took my daughter for the first time and was blown away with their gluten free selection and knowledge. I spent dinner saying “we can’t eat that” and always got the reply “it’s gluten free”. Menu is clearly marked. We are also vegetarian usually making gluten free eating tricky. Not here. Best dining experience in a long time! I cannot wait to do it again. The Melting Pot will be our new go to restaurant!
Update: we went last Sunday 10/12/2024 and despite telling everyone who would listen we were gluten free everything we ordered came with gluten. Took two hours for dinner because we were constantly waiting. Good thing I knew what shouldn’t be there because they were oblivious. Called the manager and told her the next day. The owner offered us $20 odd the next meal. Ridiculous.
Amazing for gluten free people! All options can be offered gluten free, staff was very careful to ensure nothing that came to our table had gluten. No up-charge for gluten free either. It was a very romantic date night for me and my husband. Also offers dairy-free cheese fondue.
-I was very impressed, I’ve always avoided this restaurant assuming I wouldn’t be able to eat anything; Glad to say I was pleasantly surprised! -Plenty of dairy free and gluten free options (bread, cheese, chocolate ect:) -well marked menu -Waiter was very knowledgeable about menu and cross contamination
I come once or twice a year, and since I say on my reservation that I’m gluten-free, usually I have no issues. My latest trip was terrible, though. I had it on the reservation, I told the host, and I told the server — and the other person I was with went GF with me. However, every dish was spiked in some way. I almost thought that they were doing it on purpose, really.
A couple girls work there with celiac and they have always been safe with cross contamination if you let them know. Very accommodating.
Was served a cheese that contained beer. It says on the menu it can be made gluten free with the addition of gluten free beer. They did not use the advertised gluten free beer and instead used a "low gluten" beer, which doesn't cut the mustard when it comes to celiac disease. They were apologetic but I no longer trust this place.
Several options available for GF but unfortunately my experience was lacking. Notified the server of Celiac and requirement for table to be GF. First course came with non-GF bread. Server apologized and took the bread away. Salad course was fine. Entree, two people in the party were given the teriyaki steak which is not GF. Grateful my family understands and they did not cook the steak until I was done cooking my food. Desert course was delivered with gluten dippers. Very disappointed in the lack of attention or detail. I recommend asking a LOT of questions.
Extensive variety of delicious GF items. Wait staff was knowledgeable and helpful. My 3 year old son (diagnosed with celiac last year) had a blast. He especially loved the gluten free snickerdoodles.
We went here for our anniversary. I have always wanted to try it, so I was extremely excited. While they do offer a lot of gluten free options, they are not completely aware of cross contamination. Somewhere during the dinner I was glutened. It was very disappointing.
This is the best restaurant ever!!! Honestly this is my favorite restaurant!!! Went there only 3 times in a year because it is kind of expensive, but definitely worth it. Almost everything can be made gluten free and everything that I had was amazing!!! I felt safe eating there. The staff is aware of gluten allergies and they are very friendly. EVERYONE should come at least once while in Seattle, you don’t want to miss out.
Wow! I had no idea just how thorough they’d be caring for food restrictions due to allergies. Our son has celiacs and we felt very assured they were on top of the necessary precautions. Our whole party (9) agreed to go 100% gluten free so that our son could sample other items offered among our party. We had purchased him the birthday package and they gave him chocolate covered strawberries and a box of chocolates - both gluten free as well. Highly recommend eating here - even if it’s just for the cheese or chocolate!
I had a wonderful experience I am GF and DF and egg free, they were able to accommodate my allergies and always insured that my pot was the right one and everything was very clear on what I could and could not eat! The wait staff was amazing with this and I can’t wait to go back again!
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. I called ahead to talk to them about how they handle gluten free and it seemed like they were knowledgeable so we decided to try it. Food was very good, though the gluten free bread was only okay, though that is pretty much to be expected anywhere and at least it wasn't bad. The other dippers were good, and the dessert options were all good. We only tried cheese and chocolate and skipped the meat options (we tried two types of cheese instead), but everything we tried was good. My husband of course had to eat gluten free with me to not contaminate the fondue, but he was also happy with the food. Would definitely go again.
I had dinner here and I can not say more positive things about my experience. The server and the manager were incredibly knowledgeable and took great care to ensure I had a safe and enjoyable experience. They utilized a separate prep space, personally cut all of my dippers, and did not let me eat anything that wasn’t certified to be gluten free. I have never felt so safe in a non-dedicated restaurant. Ask for Mackenna and Paulo.
When making reservations, we mentioned the gluten free request for our entire party. Knowing this was a GF Safe Spot, I felt pretty comfortable eating here. After being seated, I mentioned to our waitress that we were all eating gluten free to keep it as safe as possible. The appetizer was OK (a bit too much wine-tasting) and included GF bread. When the entree arrived, I was surprised that the waitress included a sauce with gluten--she brought a dish that included 5 different sauces and said she left out the spoon in the one gluten sauce so we would be aware. I was very disappointed in this, especially since we emphasized being completely GF at our table. I did not try any sauces as cross contact would be too easy. You definitely pay for the experience at this restaurant so, luckily, I won't be hurrying back anytime soon. Next time, I will ask to bring a new sauce tray that is completely GF.
Everything was so tasty and decadent and there was gluten free for every course. Only eh thing was I asked everytime they brought out a new course if it was gluten free and the waitress was like nope sorry and took it right back and fixed it. So whoever was plating or cooking or checking things in the back was not on the ball which is a little... not great for celiac but I did not get sick and it was AHHHMAZING
