Starbucks egg bites. I had been eating them for breakfast multiple times a week for almost a year and then today I saw how they are made. Tongs that take the croissants and sandwiches out of the ovens are used for the egg bites too, directly touching them. I had assumed that they were heated in that tray they come in. Big loss for breakfast but luckily it never made me sick.

anneke79299 You can ask them to get new tongs for you, and they can tag the order with an allergy warning! You will just have to order through drive through/in person, not over the app. :) 1 reply

meow Re the other comment - my friend works at Starbucks and they do not make everything fresh in house. She told me that most food is shipped to the locations already made but frozen, and they just reheat it. I would check with the company that the egg bites are prepared in a celiac-safe way originally before being distributed to each location, just to be safe

mikayla46654 starbucks employee: if you have a moderate to severe allergy do. not. eat. there. no matter what you do it will be cross contaminated even if they try to avoid it

adriglutenfree As a barista, and celiac, do not get food from there. If you have a Costco membership I’m pretty sure they sell the egg bites frozen in large packages, and they are labeled gluten free, if you have them multiple times a week just heat them at home with no contamination
