1st time eating there, was so glad to have gluten free options! The nice lady preparing my sandwich moved to a separate countertop, wiped & laid down paper and changed her gloves! Way to do it right Jersey Mikes! Will be back!

I was pretty wary about ordering here but I was so impressed by their practices. The Udi’s bread is kept separately in sealed packaging. The young man who made my sandwich made sure that all other sandwiches were made and the surfaces were completely cleaned before making mine. And he covered the surface where he was making my order with fresh paper and used fresh gloves and a fresh knife. They also sell packaged Udi cookies.

Husband (celiac) has gone here a few times to pick up a sandwich. He’s never reacted at other Jersey mikes and here was no different. He says the gf bread is super good!

This was my first trip to this location (it opened in the last year). I first asked about “gluten allergy” protocols, seeing they had a gluten-free poster on the wall above what appeared to be a separate prep area but they were busy and had a trainee making regular sandwiches on it. The staff told me they do have protocol: to change gloves, wipe the counter, and use gluten free bread. I asked if the sandwiches would be prepared in a dedicated area and she said no, they’d be prepared on the same counter using the same toppings. Given how many non-GF sandwiches were being made there, I didn’t feel like this was celiac safe and left empty handed.

Good place for celiac-safe sub sandwiches. They have gluten free bread and always change gloves, clean equipment, and keep the sandwich on a separate sheet of paper. I eat here a lot and have never gotten sick.

I have been CRAVING a sub since going GF a couple months ago. I'm always nervous about GF breads not having the right texture.. but Jersey Mike's nailed it! Absolutely delicious and the regular size is enough for 2 meals! Will definitely be returning!

I’ve eaten at other jersey mikes and have gotten really sick. This location goes above and beyond to make sure everything is safe. Nothing comes off of the bar. It’s the only Location I will eat at anymore.

The best experience I’ve had in Christiansburg since being diagnosed. The staff was so friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. They took the time to wipe down equipment and change gloves. 10:/10 would recommend this location!!!

The people working took my allergy very seriously. She thoroughly cleaned the slicer and counters. Everyone on the line changed their gloves. There is a specific color knife for the gluten free bread which was in its own individual wrapper.

I usually order through the app and pick it up so I can’t speak with full confidence on cross contamination, but the gluten free bread is really good. Best place to get a gluten free sandwich around the area. I don’t think I’ve ever felt sick from it.

Great people, careful with cross contamination every time I’ve been there so far. They only had 1 half of a GF bread left when I ordered a giant and they put the other half in a bowl for me and offered a free sandwich card for the trouble. Highly recommend every Jersey Mike’s for celiac-friendly sandwiches and this one was no exception.

I frequently get subs from this location and I have never had any issues. Gluten free bread is available as an option for each sandwich. Before preparation, the employees ask if it’s a preference or an allergy, and are extra careful not to cross contaminate if it’s an allergy (for me it’s an allergy). Everything is delicious! My favorite sandwich is the Classic Italian

So I have a severe gluten allergy where I can't even touch it otherwise I break out in rashes or if I invest it then I have severe bowel problems so I'm very careful about it. Well I wanted to try Jersey mikes because I heard they had a gluten free sub which I was really excited about because no other sandwich restaurants have gluten free options so I came here with my mom and told them I had s gluten allergy and they told us their protocol, how they're supposed to wash their hands and change their gloves and wipe everything down and change utensils. I also asked to get it toasted and they let me know about the grill but that they could wipe it off for me so they did exactly that they cleaned it thoroughly and did everything they told me they would do. They were very nice and understanding about it and took the time to clean so I wouldn't be cross contaminated. The sandwich was delicious I will definitely come here more often!! I highly recommend it as long as you tell them you have an allergy or intolerance to it!

I was in town for work and everyone ordered together. I called ahead and stressed that I needed gluten free and dairy free. I asked them to add bacon. My sandwich was delivered with cheese melted all over the contents. No bacon. I didn’t have lunch.

I don't crave subs very often but if you do then this is a decent option. They do have gf sub buns and do change gloves. I wish they had gf cookies but alas that's life lol.
Update: I got a sub again today and they now do have Udi's gf snickerdoodles. They're soft and very good too!

I absolutely love this place! I’ve seen them prepare the food myself, and they take all the proper precautions, including separate prep areas and changing gloves. I get the gluten free bread sub as well as the bowl. I’ve never had an issue, but I do not have Celiac’s, so I can’t speak for that. They also have Udi’s cookies if you want a meal.

Before ordering I asked an employee if I would be safe to order a sandwich with celiac. She assured me that it would be safe, but did not write allergy anywhere on my ticket (despite me asking).
She changed gloves and wiped down the slicer then the surrounding area (covered with crumbs) before going back over the slicer again. I should have asked her to cancel my order then, but didn’t. After placing my GF sandwich on a clean paper to avoid CC, she slid it over to the toppings that were used for all regular sandwiches. I asked her to please cancel the GF sub (I’d still pay for my husband’s that was being made). She then offered to have it topped with veggies straight from the cooler (not from the line), and I agreed.
As I was checking out, I looked over to see a second employee come back to the line, grab onions, and walk back to place them on my GF sub. At this point, I’ve already paid for both subs, but asked them to just keep my sandwich. The cashier asked if I had celiac (which I’d already shared and asked to be noted on my order). She came back and shared that the other employee said the onions were fresh - I said, respectfully, I just watched her make three regular sandwiches with them. The cashier then offered to remake my sandwich (without onions because it turns out they didn’t have any in the cooler). I just wanted to get out of there, so I agreed.
After all of that… my sandwich was incorrect, and I was sick within 45 minutes of eating half of it. Celiacs beware.

$2.50 extra for gluten-free bread. Sandwiches are good. They were pretty good with precautions. Still, if I were super sensitive, I’d be worried about the amount of wheat flour crumbs floating around.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get a gf sub. They asked allergy or preference, wiped down the counter, put down paper, used a clean knife, changed gloves, and were cool about grabbing toppings from the back. They even moved the sandwich to fresh paper at the end of the line instead of wrapping in the paper that had sat on crumbs. Altogether I was impressed! At most locations I have to correct things as I go down the line, but the two staff who interacted with me here seemed very well trained on gf protocols.

They ask if you have an allergy or preference when it comes to the gluten free bread. After stating I have an allergy they cleaned the slicer, the counter, and all of the staff switched gloves. A new employee had accidentally used the mayo knife so they gave me new bread and then they use the squeeze bottle of mayo to prevent cross contamination. Everyone was very friendly, understanding, and aware of how to handle my allergy.

My husband just found out he has a gluten allergy. He got the large steak and cheese and said it was very good. He did toast it a bit more when he got home but overall he said 10/10.
Rarely have the gluten free bread option available. Staff will change gloves but use same prep station, ingredients, and utensils for all orders. Cross contamination highly likely. Only semi safe option is a salad.
