1417 French Bistro

A tempered review. My omelette was nice. It was my second order, as the first involved potatoes that should have been fried separately but something was wrong with the dedicated fryer. So someone came out and spoke to me, very nice. But (this is big) after asking if the chocolate mousse was GF and hearing yes, I ordered it. Then, as usual when food is delivered, I asked for confirmation that this was indeed gf. After someone ran to the kitchen I got a thumbs up. Then noticed the little balls all over the mousse. I took a bite and instantly registered malted balls. So I asked specifically about the balls, and was told “yes there’s a little gluten in the balls.” Wow. I sent it back and was brought an unadulterated mousse. And… the mousse was still billed to my host. Not cool, and not so safe. I was overall disappointed in this otherwise beautiful space.
