THEY DO NOT BELONG ON THIS SITE..Not Gluten Free. They Carry only Two gluten free products. Udis Pepperoni pizza and Udis Cheese pizza. Manager told me cross contamination is an issue and RECOMMENDED CELIACS DO NOT EAT THERE. THEY DO NOT BELONG ON THIS SITE!!!!
I have eaten there several times and haven't gotten sick. They have a separate section with separate utensils and the ingredients are stored separately as well (pepperoni only though so eat anything else at your own risk). They do cook it in the same oven but they have a shield they use.
Giddings is halfway between Cypress and Austin, so I met my sister here. The only place that offered a gluten free menu in Giddings was PIzza Hut, so I gave it a try. I am diagnosed with celiac disease. I had a gluten free cheese pizza. The crust is by Udis. It was tasty and I have had no reaction. We will probably meet here again. It is more of a take out and pick up place with just a couple of tables. I was so grateful to be able to find a tasty lunch to have with my sister.
Certified gluten free is what the website says, but, the pizza is made in the same oven as the gluten pizza. However, they made a mistake when making my gf pizza and came out to tell us they were making a new one. so they are careful about preparation. Pizza was ok but it was great to eat as a family. I'll update if there's any reaction to eating here.
Pizza Huts website lists this location as offering gluten free... They do not... Learned this only after my husband (who is celiac) and I went in one day with a group of friends.. They apologized and offered to let my husband eat off the salad bar for free. While there is a large chance of cross contamination for him to eat this way, we had no other option... All was well tho, no sickness! \0/ Sent a complaint to customer service later that day. They're sending me a coupon for a free large (gluten full) pizza.... o_O
I care more about celiac friendly than taste. They don't make their crust (Udis), they used a new thing to put the pizza on and cut it, they got a clean cutter, and they keep their pizza boxes in a safe place. I don't like Udis crust. I couldn't choke down the outer crust with no toppings on it, and it took 30 minutes when I was told 20. But I'd go here again.
I've been gf for 10 years, I can't even touch gluten or I'll blister. We've ordered take out/delivery from this location many times with no adverse reactions ever. We usually get the gf pepperoni pizza and wings and we've been fine. Even the delivery driver has been careful and sweet to us with our orders.
It's rare for me to eat somewhere more than twice without becoming glutened. Happily, I can report, I have always eaten their gluten free pizza without any ill effects. I always stick to the one topping that's provided in the kit, otherwise contamination becomes an issues. That's why I'd only give them 4 stars. The pizza is thin crust and crisp but yummy.
