Please don’t bring your family if you’re allergic/celiac. If I describe my experience in three words, it’s “Bait And Switch.” First, I called and asked if they can accommodate food allergies. 3 Tequilas happily said yes, and told me all the precautions they take without prompting.
Their menu has GF items marked. The cover says, “We are always thinking about you and want to give you the best service. Please let us know if you have food allergies.” That night, I felt confident bringing my family in for dinner.
Right away our server brought out chips and salsa. I quickly alerted her we have allergies, asking her if the chips are gluten free AND if they’re made in a shared fryer. She answered yes, they’re gluten free, and no, they’re not made in a shared fryer.
A few minutes later, a man came to the table to discuss our food allergies. I believe he was either a manager or a chef? He never introduced himself. He seemed unsure of what would be gluten free, and suggested we get the “skinny salad”… When I told him an allergy wasn’t a weight loss diet, he seemed surprised. Extra concerning is that the “skinny salad” is NOT marked as GF on their menu.
Soon after, our server and the man came back to the table together. The man swept up the chip basket, declaring they weren’t safe because they’re made in a shared fryer. We had already eaten some. We expressed our shock, reminding them that I had ALREADY ASKED if the chips were safe. The server shrugged and said, “it was only a little bit of gluten.”
That was the last straw. We picked up our things and walked out. We are still suffering from cross contamination today. Will never go back.
I hope this review helps others not be tricked and made ill like we were.
