They don't have a clue about what gluten is, very restricted menu but don't realize their salads could easily be gluten-free. Food's decent if you're willing to make the effort and take the risk, but probably not worth the hassle under normal circumstances.

The Iowa City location is one of my family’s favorite restaurants, and I was so happy to see that they had “gluten-friendly by request” as well as “gluten friendly with cross contamination by oil” items marked clearly on the menu. Our server was super knowledgeable and made sure that everything unsafe was removed or replaced from the burger and made sure to tell me the fries were not safe. The spicy burger with a GF bun and the wok veggies were a great dinner! I also had them note an allergy on my order and felt very safe eating here.

The chips and salsa are not GF. They are fried in a fryer with other food items. Did not find out until they were brought to the table after asking the waitress to check.

I ordered a burger on a GF bun and side of mashed potatoes because the fries are not GF. Waitress asked if I was Celiac because apparently they take extra care. Had no issues and the food was very good
This review is for the CR location: I ordered a salmon sandwich with GF bun. My sister ordered the same thing with a regular bun. When they brought our food out the buns looked the same. I asked the server if he could take it back but he insisted that he asked 2 cooks if the bun and meal was GF and they said it was. Well 3 hours later I was vomiting and was in bed for the rest of the day. My sister had no symptoms so I know it was food poisoning. I will never go back, ever.

I was told by waitress that some of the gf items on their menu have gluten in them.
I love their gluten free salads, I usually add a salmon piece to mine. My second favorite is the blue burger. Fries and chips are no good but the drinks are always great!

This large trendy restaurant is "open" with booths, high tops, tables, and bar seating. An extensive beer menu is available though no GF beer was listed that I saw. Located at Iowa River Landing with non-metered street parking as well as a parking ramp near by. We were promptly greeted, seated, and waited on. Hops 30 is "gluten friendly" with GF indicated on the menu; my Sriracha burger was juicy and prepared to my request on a GF bun. My side was chipotle corn-mildly spicy and a great accompaniment to the burger. My husband order the blue cheese burger and fries. Portions were very adequate, wait person was knowledgeable and attentive though not hovering. We will return in warmer weather and definitely try outdoor seating.

Had a burger with GF bun and fruit...no issues and it was good. But not celiac friendly....
Gluten friendly but not celiac friendly

I liked the southwest BBQ chicken salad I had, with wonton strips as croutons. Very good. Didn't have a burger, but did eat some fries with no issues. Fries were amazing!!
Finding a good tasting GF burger in Iowa city is a challenge. Burger patty is not a burger, but this place has gluten free bread. So yay, for all the celiacs in Iowa city. Does not have a dedicated frier so no fries. This place is good, but could be better. Don't know about CC.
