I had emailed the restaurant well in advance to ask about gluten-free options since there’s no indication on the website menu, and they said both appetizers and entrees (but not specifically which ones) offer GF options. I figured steak should be safe and potatoes and/or vegetables. Well, the server seemed pretty knowledgeable but did very little to accommodate. If we did not push and push and push by asking questions, we would not have gotten anywhere. Fryer certainly not dedicated since they do the crab cakes in it. That is apparently why even the potatoes are not celiac safe. Which is odd since you would think they don’t HAVE to fry them (new potatoes) and could offer to pan fry them separately. Once we knew that, we didn’t even ask about the Brussels Sprouts appetizer (which, other than salads, appeared to be the only remotely potentially safe option but we weren’t going to risk it).Don’t get me wrong, the steak was very good and service was pretty good, too. But not exactly a huge GF selection. And it’s small so you’d better make reservations like we did. And I swore Scott & Co was supposed to be a speakeasy but it’s just an adjacent bar. Not downstairs or anything. I doubt we’d return.
