We asked for a gluten free menu and were told that they do not have one but the whole menu can be made gluten free. Ordered apps and entrees. We were brought gluten free bread while we waited. When our app arrived, it came with gluten bread. Our waiter brought gluten free soy sauce for our entrees. He then brought our entrees. One was fried in gluten flour. We asked to verify it was gluten free. He said it was but then came back a few minutes later to say that it wasn’t because he “didn’t know we needed gluten free” even though we repeatedly told him. He took the entree back and then returned a few minutes later. It appeared, based on leftover batter still on the food, that they just took the original batter off and re-fried it. When he returned and asked if we wanted a box, we declined as the food still had gluten which is why we didn’t eat it. He argued, saying there was no batter and quickly removed the food and disposed of it. When we asked to speak with a manager, he said we could just talk to him.

To her credit, a manager did speak with us after we approached her and, upon hearing about our experience, did not charge us. That said, we have no confidence in their ability to accommodate gluten free patrons and will not be returning.

I usually very excepting of gf places even if there are no actual gf menus but this place is not gf or celiac friendly. The wait staff has no knowledge of gf for I was told, "I think we have gf pasta and a roll." They use the same fryer so fried food is out. And to top it all off they charge you to change your side of fries for a gf one. If you are celiac or gf don't eat here.

Not Celiac friendly! Same frying for breaded items as GF. Very limited.

This place doesn't realize that celiacs often have dairy allergies, as well. They have a wonderful vegan menu but not 1 thing on it is gf. I am also a vegetarian, so was restricted to soup, salads with no cheese and fries. Service was good but they offer little for vegan celiacs. Their tempeh could be gf but isn't.

Delicious GF fish and chips, light and tasty. I don't always eat it all... I ate all of it! Yum. My husband had an amazing mac and cheese dish, very unique and delicious. Great ambiance and service. Worth the stop on our way to Moodus. We'll be back! You can get other GF options too! Chef inspired, fresh cooked local ingredients.
