Abbiocco Italian Cuisine

Sadly, I think with so much turnover in jobs across the country and the struggle businesses are experiencing trying to find help, it leaves me wondering how safe I feel trusting anyone to make my food. I’ve never had something this terrible happen to me before yesterday. I’ve almost been served food that was known to have gluten in it but the staff typically was able to recognize something was not right or I luckily was able to before trying it. Last night, we went out to celebrate our anniversary and this restaurant makes their own pasta and has gluten-free pasta and pizza for their menu items. Our waitress was amazing, very sweet and said she make sure our ticket noted I had an allergy. We went early as we had 5:00 reservations and we were the 3rd table seated in the entire restaurant so it was not busy. It did start to pick up by the time we ordered and were getting our main course. Our food was brought by someone else and l was about 5 bites in when the waitress runs over in a panic saying she’s so sorry, the cook told her the pasta was not GF even though she flagged the ticket with an allergy and she hopes I didn’t eat too much and asked if it’s going to make me sick. Well if you have celiac, you know one bite, one lick, sometimes one smell is too much. It doesn’t matter, my night is done, my week is actually completely ruined as it takes 5-7 days for my system to recover. I didn’t say this but I did say, yes I’m going to be sick and unless you want it to be here, I need to leave…now. So, VERY LONG story short, Don’t risk it, not here at least. I have been to this place a couple times when it first opened and they were so much better and I did not have an issue then. Again, knowing now and reading recent reviews it’s apparently struggling in the kitchen and possibly with management.
