Good variety of selections for gluten free menu. Had Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Shrimp. Traded garden fresh vegetables for cilantro lime rice, and traded refried beans for charro beans. They offered baked corn tortilla chips for gluten free, and separate dish for salsa to avoid contamination from others at table with fried chips. Server was knowledgeable of gluten-free dining and was very nice. We went just before dinner rush which I recommend so that server and chef will be focused on avoiding cross contamination.

Good menu for gluten free but very dry soft tacos. Tasteless food. Bland. Won’t go back

The waitresses are very knowledgeable; however the food had no taste.

I enjoyed my experience at Abuelo's. The server was very knowledgeable about celiac/gluten. She brought me chips that were prepared separately to avoid cross-contamination. They were baked instead of fried so not quite as tasty, but I'll take that over being glutened anytime. The gluten sensitive menu had plenty of options to choose from. I had the barbecue shrimp fajitas and would recommend them to others. I would go back to Abuelo's when in Roanoke again.
Yes
Very restricted menu but do have chips that can be prepared separate. About 6 items as meals but several are over 15.00. 1 of them being a steak.
wonderful food and service! our server was very well educated on their gluten free options

All 3 times I have gone I was told something new on their gf menu really wasn't. Like it was fried with gluten foods. I should have figured out they made me sick the second time. The third time I barely had any options left.

The gluten free menu is limited but there are some interesting selections. The waitress brought out chips and salsa and said the chips were gluten free but she wasn't sure about the salsa. She came back in a few minutes and as I had already had two chips said the salsas are gluten free and I will bring out gluten free chips after I already had eaten some of the ones she said were gluten free! The waitress openly admitted she didn't know much about the gluten free menu! I was disappointed and will not go back there.
Very good service, waitress offered to bring gluten free chips out so that I could have chips and salsa with everyone else. Food was delicious and they had a good list to choose from. Will definitely visit again.
My favorite place to eat GF
Excellent attention to my daughters GF needs. Food was excellent and the service was top notch. Will def be back!!!
This place has a limited gluten “sensitive” list on their menu. Mexican food tends to be naturally gluten free, so I was surprised it was such a small list. But, it was tasty. Chips probably are CC, we didn’t ask (husband with celiac didn’t eat them).

My husband and I eat here regularly. They have a gluten free menu. There is no dedicated fryer, but they will bring you baked chips. Only one of the salasas (green) is gluten free. I get the veggie fajitas with no dairy and can choose from lettuce wraps or corn tortillas. Portions are huge and we always have left overs. Staff is always nice.

Was a bit worried when I saw these reviews but I had no issues at all. I asked if the chips were gf and they got me “gluten sensitive” ones. I ordered the soft tacos and was a bit worried when the bread was white but they assured me it was corn tortillas. Overall it was a great experience and would go again!

Went with a lunch group and you can’t order anything off the lunch menu (GF) They won’t tweak it. The waiter didn’t want to hear about it. The other GF limited menu was dinner prices. Food was not above average for Mexican.
